October 2008 edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.--John (talk) 02:11, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to The Beatles. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. FINAL WARNING edit

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Grateful Dead, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Hi Paul edit

I've replied to your post at the discussion here. And here is the message I posted to the WikiProject Spam page. I think you should let other editors use your links if they find them useful but not add them yourself. Let me know if you have any more questions. (Click on the links to get to the pages I've indicated.) Here's some help about talk pages and how to contact other editors: WP:TALK Katr67 (talk)

Discussing the possible addition of such links on the article talk page is definitely the best approach to take. You can find more details in WP:COI. --Ronz (talk) 00:48, 17 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry you were offended by my message. You would have done better to have heeded it rather than continuing to add external links when several editors had reverted your additions and left you messages. There are undoubtedly ways you can help improve the project, but adding external links to your own website probably isn't one of them. --John (talk) 04:27, 17 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry you decided to leave. I really think some of the suggestions I made on EA page might have helped you get somewhere as far as having your links used in the project. Good luck with your radio station. Katr67 (talk) 20:36, 17 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
