Please read over policies edit

I realize that you are relatively new here, but please read over policy statements for the English Wikipedia, particularly WP:NOT. A recent addition you made to Waubonsie Valley High School was in violation of this policy, and has been removed. Thanks! --JohnDBuell 20:00, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

New York Central edit

Hi. I noticed that you are interested in the New York Central; when I was a little boy it ran through my hometown (both freight and passenger service). We rode it to get to NYC, Utica, NY and Montreal, QC, Canada. My brother may have some pictures of the trains, if so I will post them here. Duke53 | Talk 18:25, 18 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mercury at WVHS edit

I've removed this several times now. One single contamination incident isn't really that notable in the grand scheme of things, compared to other things that have gone on in American public schools this fall. If you wanted to work it into a larger section about the controversies debated amongst District 204 residents who complain that WVHS is inferior to its newer sister school NVHS (and I can't wait for the whining to begin once HS #3 is opened), that might be doable, but it's still a small local affair. I noted once in the edit notes that not even a sexual assault that occurred at Naperville Central in a back hallway after its natatorium opened in 1993 has been mentioned here. If it had led to a specific law being passed, perhaps, but the school only tightened already heavy security and that's all. Please consider Wikipedia:Notability in the future. --JohnDBuell 02:39, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

It would be okay as part of a larger section, as I said, but I STILL cannot find any mention of the incident in any of the local media (and yes I searched their archives). However, it's also quite true that area public schools keep a LOT of information OUT of the local newspapers, deliberately.... --JohnDBuell 16:27, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your edits to George W. Bush edit

I've removed that addition about his nickname; it's not appropriate commentary for that article. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 04:42, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I didn't think you were vandalizing the article, it's just not appropriate to put something like that in the opening sentence of an article about a President of the United States. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 04:51, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

No harm done! I just wanted to let you know I'd removed it. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 05:21, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:A_Flock_of_Seagulls_(I_Ran_CD).jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:A_Flock_of_Seagulls_(I_Ran_CD).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:I Ran CD Cover.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:I Ran CD Cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wizardman 20:03, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Paul Ittoop! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 936 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
