Zimbabwean dollar

I know that that zimbabweanequities.com publishes a rate to the 2nd decimal place. However, when OMIR implies that 1 US dollar is worth over 1,000,000,000,000 Zim dollars, it seems pointless to give accuracy to the nearest 0.01 Zim dollars. I supsect that this level of accuracy arises simply from taking the implied GBP-ZWD exchange rate, and then dividing by the GBP-USD to get the USD-ZWD exchange rate. This means that this high level of accuracy simply reflects the exchange rate between GBP and USD - and has nothing to do with the ZWD —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pmbma (talk • contribs) 15:08, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Correction - I meant publishing to the nearest 1 Zim dollar. Even for interbank transactions to the value of over 1 bn USD, the EUR-USD exchange rate is quoted to no more than the 6 significant figure - e.g. 1.59283 If USD-ZWD is approx 200,000,000,000,000 then I'd guess that the original GBP-ZWD figure is accurate to no more than the nearest 100,000,000 Zim dollars Pmbma (talk) 15:14, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Pmbma

The problem is that the source (Zimbabwe Equities) publishes their numbers in this way. So we have to quote them the way they provide them, otherwise we would not be accurately representing the source. If you believe they aren't accurate, you need to contact them directly.

Also note that just because a price (in this case for 1 $) only has so many digits, does not mean that it is only accurate to that point. e.g. If the price of 1 apple is $1, then it is exactly that. And if the price of 1 US$ is 2533 Z$, then the price of an apple is Z$2533 and not Z$3000 ! Can you add Australia onto the map for the European Passports including EU and other ETA Eligible European Passports. Australia has culminated its Visa Reciprocal Agreement with the EU? Here's some sources to provide:

I agree that this isn't really visa-free. The form to fill out is way more complicated than the old ETA. The fact that it is online makes it easier to apply, but visas grant are no longer automatic/immediate, plus you get sent a code to print out to show at the airport. I'd take it off the maps. You could leave it on the VOA lists with a special footnote, as in terms of ease of travel it is similar to a VOA. In addition Electronic_Travel_Authority needs to be updated as well. Passportguy (talk) 14:14, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

US Visa Waiver Program for the EU

Romania as an EU State has very recently signed the Visa Waiver Declaration setting out objectives for Romania to join the Visa Waiver Program in a couple of months or so. I will keep you posted.

Schengen EU Countries

What does "Unlimited" mean for the Schengen Countries of the EU and other European Countries outside the EU e.g. Hungary, France etc?Pryde 01 (talk) 02:05, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Hungary & France are both in the EU and in the Schengen zone, so I don't quite understand these examples. The "unlimited access" basically means that nationals of the European Community can enter any other country in the Community and stay there as long as they wish without a visa. In other words, there is no limit for the duration of a visa-free stay, which is not the case for example in Morocco, where EU-nationals can stay for up to 90 days (if they want to stay longer, they do need a visa). --Botev (talk) 08:55, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

A Mystery

Why doesn't Estonia have Visa Free Access to Brazil? Given that Estonia is part of the EU?

I dont get it either Passport guy. It doesnt say Visa Free on any of the Embassies or Brazil and a couple of others I have checked. I dont know where Estonia54 got his information from. Unless he can provide us with a valid source than Brazil and some other countries which require Visas for those ex soviet EU States the countries wont be added to the map. I have checked a few sources like Embassies and SkyTeam and they all say those 3 Baltic Countries need Visas for those countries.Pryde 01 (talk) 05:45, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Visa Free or VOA Count

On a lot of Passports mainly Western ones like European, US, Canadian, NZ etc. They say they have between 180 to 193 Visa Free or VOA Rights, I think its aboslutely wrong you cant have like 193 when there are 195 Passports in the world and it shows on the map that there are no where near 193. I think this needs to be corrected perhaps somthing more realistic like 127 or some other realistic number but not 193. What do you say of this?Pryde 01 (talk) 09:31, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

The counts are taken from the ominous "Henley Visa Index", which was an index set up to promote a commercial website offering visa services. However it wasn't well researched and by now is often quite outdated. If you come accross these numbers it is often best to just delete them, especially if they are grossly wrong. UAE

According to UAE Some Citizens can apply for an eVisa and then be granted the Visa on Arrival. Is it possible we can add UAE onto some Passports that are eligible and treat it like the Australian eVisitor or Electronic Ticket Authority?Pryde 01 (talk) 00:39, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

No. The UAE eVisa requires a whol lote of paperwork, including a UAE citizen as sponsor. It is similar to the facility Libya has for all citizens where you arrange your visa visa a hotel or business partner in advance and then get a conformation email. But it isn't similar at all in terms of travel freedom to teh Australian (or the soon to be introduced US) on-arrival travel authority. Passportguy (talk) 01:50, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Saudi Arabia is very concerned about non-Muslims conming to close to the holy sites and having undue influence on their very consevative society. Therefore they essentially only issue business visas and require entry visas from all except GCC nationals. Passportguy (talk) 12:29, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Australian Passport

I think we should take off Vietnam since it requires Australian Passport holders to apply before arrival. [[4]]. It states specifically "30 Day visa must be preissued before arrival. Cost is approx. US $70".

zimbabwean dollar

hey, just querying your revert of my edit to the currencies of least value. i understand that the zimbabwean dollar is undergoing a lot of changes right now, but isn't the 100 billion dollar note currently in use (as pictured in the article)? i'm pretty sure that the new dollar has not come into effect, and once/if it does the largest note will be 500 dollars...? thanks xxx Jessi1989 (talk) 18:09, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

The 100 billion dollar note was the highest 2nd Zimbabwe dollar note, which was replaced by the third Zimbabwe Dollar in August. The current highest note is the one pictured at the top of the page (1 million Z$), which is equivalent to 10,000,000,000,000,000 2nd dollars. Passportguy (talk) 18:55, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
