Hey.this is shruti shukla....studying social sciences at PU....i am from Dev...i welcome your effort to create a biographical sketch of premier author shankar dayal babu but on the other hand it should geuninely illuminate verified authentic facts and not just handpicked personal laurels.while you have correctly glorified his scholarly contributions(wonder why he missed out a Padma Vibhushan!)you have downplayed his electoral political facts.everyone known that both Kamata Singh Kam and Satender narain of aurangabad were personally related but they only had political differences;infact Kamata Singh Kam had written extensively about Late Bihar Vibhuti(Read kamatasingh kam's "Bihar Vibhuti",1992).Shankar babu unsuccessfully fought against Rajput supremo Satender babu and lost twice in a row,and even when you say that he was ahead in one of assembly constituency what about other half a dozen?? No matter what one argue;there may be a million reasons to analyse about an election result and million more to cite if one loses! but at least a established fact should be presented in the manner it deserves! why beating around the bush??(if you feel that this facts dilutes his image then better exclude it completely!) if you seriously include his term as Congress or Janata party candidate;you should present pure facts and not just illuminate personal whims and fancies else it will become a private profile and just because something is not on wikepedia it doesnot means the world doesnot knows it!! may be you are his relative but he was a public figure and his public profile should be free from vendetta

Thanks for taking interest in the subject. Let me correct you on facts. Sri Shankar Dayal Singh contested just once in 1984 from Aurangabad. So, there is no question of his losing twice to Satyendra Narain Singh. This fact can be verified from the Election Commission of India's website. In 1980 Sri Sidhanath Singh had contested and lost to Satyendra Narain Singh (See http://eci.nic.in/eci_main/StatisticalReports/LS_1980/Vol_II_LS_80.pdf for details). Then Sri Shankar dayal Singh had contested from Koderma (See http://eci.nic.in/eci_main/StatisticalReports/LS_1980/Vol_I_LS_80.pdf) and lost to Sri Reetlal Prasad Verma. The only time he contested from Aurangabad was in 1984 and had lost to Sri Satyendra Narain Singh. We would like to maintain that the bastion of Sri Satyendra Narain Singh was surely shaken and he never won from that constituency again. Our humble advice, let us not make an issue out of it. Yes you are certainly right;please pardon me for the clerical error.Mr SN Singh won the seat with almost a margin of 180000 votes against Siddhant Singh. i have no issues against for or against ex Chief Minister of Bihar Satyendra Narain Singh Ji or Shankar dayal babu(infact his father was a contemporary of SN S);as a student from Aurangabad who is keenly interested in exploring biographical stubs and even contributing,i raised the issue!However let us enlighten ourselves with this fact also that Mr SN Singh lost subsequent election(1991) not because of any local factor(he was elected from Aurangabad seven times since the first Lok Sabha and anyone who knows about Bihar politics knows about him wether admirers or critics;he is also no longer alive so i ll not comment furthur on it!).But,It was VP Singh's wave that resulted into the emergence of Janata juggernaut on the national politics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.98.139.90 (talk) 15:53, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Please let us have the facts right again. The very next Lok Sabha elections after 1984 were held in 1989. Sri Satyendra Narain Singh was then the Chief Minister. His daughter-in-law Smt. Shyama Singh had contested from Aurangabad and lost the election to Sri Ram Naresh Singh. In 1991, when Sri Satyendra Narain Singh contested again, VP Singh's government in the center was long gone and Sri Chandra Shekhar was the PM. Thus to say that Sri SN Singh lost due to 'VP Singh's wave that resulted into the emergence of Janata juggernaut on the national politics' would be wrong. PARIJAT 18:14, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Parijat SIngh ji.I would rather conclude on a constructive note! I spoke about former CM Mr SN Singh's subsequent election and everyone who knows politics knows this fact that although Satender babu was one of Bihar's most respected & tallest leaders right from 60's;he was unable to win for the first time in 1991 parliamentary polls(after record 10 consecutive victories;7 term MP,3 time MLA and MLC once).And just because he trailed in one of assembly constituencies(offcourse for the first time in his 5 decades of electoral politics!);let us not pressume and force upon any conclusions ourselves that it resulted into his subsequent defeat.National and stage politics had an entirely different contour post Mandalization in 90s!.Satender babu was among 3 members of Congress(O) who won from Bihar(out of 54 contestants against Congress(R) )in 1971 against the massive Indira Wave after war victory!(and shankar dayal babu won because of this Indira wave from Chatra,but this has not been mentioned).Dr Jaggannath Mishra(three time CM) had recently publised an article in HT on late SN Singh.He had publically admitted that although he was seen parallel to the late leader it was actually SN Singh under whose tutelage he first became MLC in 1966 when the former was a powerful cabinet minister! So fortune and phases of a statesman change at times! Shankar Dayal babu became a RS Member after he could not make it to LS and he died as a sitting member.He lost to his former protege Ram Naresh Singh who used to be his election agent for many elections and it was not ram naresh babu's political acument aginst the Rajput Stalwart but it then Chief Minister Lalu Prasad made the elections a farce!.While we also know that Mrs Shyama singh and her husband later became MPs too(99 and 04) Her husband stood a poor third this time but that was more because of his electoral failure rather than anything else! Wiki Page Surya Mandir, Deo

Thanks for the observance. You are right to point out that the wiki page was a word to word copy of the deosuryamandir.com web page content. However, since we maintain that page too and have developed the content for it, we did not violate any copyrights nor was it our intention. The web page has also been put up by us (parijat) and so there is no question of stealing as you have pointed out. The temple in question is a reverend one and lacks of people throng the place during this time of year. It is most unfortunate that the page has been deleted at this very time. We request you to kindly reconsider the decision and revert it. You will appreciate that this is not an individual subject, but a social-religious one. Okey you would need to get whoever holds the copyright (probably whoever paid for the website) to contact permissions@wikimedia.org and release the work under creative commons attribution share-alike license. Examples of acceptable releases can be found at Wikipedia:Example requests for permission. Thanks for the suggestion. We are sorry if our act amounted to violation of copyrights. We never thought it that way because we were merely trying to share the content that we had developed for the Temple website. In fact the temple in question has no official website of its own and we have put up the website with their consent. We will have no problem with donating the copyrighted material either. Still could you please guide us which is a better option - to donate the copyright and carry on with the earlier version or edit the present material to avoid any copyrights issues. Please note that we are trying to do this for the millions of devotees of this place and assure you that neutrality will be maintained. The Man he was

I am closely related to Shankar Dayal nana;(precisely, he was own maternal brother of my grandmother). I vividly remember, how he used to guide youngster like us and everytime we met him. he always advised us to work hard and achieve excellence;infact he often gave us great books to read.Among his personal anecdotes; is an very important fact that his father Kamta Singh 'Kam' (baba) was personally close and socially related to the legendary Bihar Bibhuti Anugraha Babu, secondly whatever may be the public difference of opinion between the second rung of generation in later years;it is a fact that they were closely and intimately part of a big Rajput lineage;I remember my grandmother who spent her childhood with Shankar Dayal Nana would always tell us how her Kamta Singh 'Kam' mama regularly used to visit Anugraha babu since his young student years and take his blessings and advise. In the famous work "Anugraha Abhinandan Granth,1955" edited by great Ramdhari Singh 'Dinkar'; Shri Kamta nana has contributed a soul stirring article on 'Babu Saheb' whom he considered a fatherly figure.Even Shankar Nana's article has also been published in later years a link of which has been given here;I cannot understand why this important fact has not been mentioned here. Even today, Rashmi didi has best of relations with the present generation of Dr. A N Sinha.It is true that the Chhote Saheb (Late Satyendra Babu) whom we called Badka baba nd Kamta Singh 'Kam' baba never had big open political differences but it is equally true that both these close relatives and personal friends had always maintained warm relations and co-operated each other.We know, In 1962; when Satyendra Babu was a powerful Second-In-Command in Bihar ministry with Education portfolio; it was Kamta Singh 'Kam' nana who actively canvassed for the then 'Bihar Education Bill' piloted by S N Sinha and ensured that it sailed through (S N Sinha's famous memoir 'Mere Yaadein:Meri Bhoolein' is a testament to this fact). Late Satyendra Babu finally spearheaded educational reforms in 60s as the bills whom his political adversaries with vested interests wanted to stop was passed;at the timely intervention and active support of an equally illustriuos intelluctual Kamta Baba.

Most Importantly; we should also be aware of the fact that both Kamta Singh 'Kam' and Satyendra Narayan Singh 'chhote sahib' were 'sehpathis' (class mates) in their early formative years; one of whom later became jewel of literary world(Sahitya Jagat key Abhushan) and another became doyen of Bihar politics (Bihar ki Rajniti key stembha). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.203.214.79 (talk) 08:15, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

As contributors / editors of the wikipage, we are least concerned about any which family feud or whatever differences the two families may have.
