Speedy deletion declined: Unicycle of Doom

Hello Paper Luigi. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Unicycle of Doom, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: the only speedy reasons for redirects are R2 and R3. You will have to nominate it at WP:RFD. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 13:53, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

It already appears to have been deleted. As for the criteria, the only reason I didn't list it under R3 is because it specifies that the redirect must be recently created (that page was created in 2005). Paper Luigi TC 13:59, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
That restriction in R3 is deliberate, the idea being that a redirect that has been around for some time may have good but non-obvious reasons, or be linked to from outside, so that there should be a discussion before it is deleted. However, if another admin took a different view of this one I'm not going to argue. JohnCD (talk) 14:05, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
In most cases I'd think that's true, but what about scenarios like this where the redirect has just been laying dormant for years? There's no criteria for that, so the only way to get them removed is through RfD, which can sometimes take days before consensus is reached. Paper Luigi TC 14:12, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
If it's been there for years, another few days for discussion won't hurt. JohnCD (talk) 14:29, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Lsufan969

Hello Paper Luigi, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted Lsufan969, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. œ 06:43, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

I was debating whether to use A7 or G11, but I suppose A7 would be more appropriate since G11 is really for more explicit advertising pages. Will choose criterion more carefully from now on. Thanks for the notice! :) Paper Luigi TC 06:52, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mike Kubat

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mike Kubat requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Deadbeef (talk) 06:30, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

I would appreciate it if you could move it to mainspace.Thank you so much! Eloise Moonbug (talk) 11:05, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

Hello, Eloise. Though I cannot in good conscience move this draft to the main article namespace due to notability standards, I have edited it to improve wording and formatting. — Paper Luigi TC 01:30, 14 September 2021 (UTC)

April 2022

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Adam DeVine. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 03:08, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
