August 2010 edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Pageant Films, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. elektrikSHOOS 02:21, 11 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a few moments to create a new account with a username that represents only you. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may ask for a review of this username block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}. Thank you. - Dank (push to talk) 02:54, 11 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Pageant Films is a registered limited liability company staffed by a combination of full-time and contract employees. The company has a registered office in Quay Street, Auckland, New Zealand, from which it services a range of clients; including significant film and television production companies and broadcasters. In view of these factors, the username "Pageant office" is appropriate and accurate. Please unblock this username. Thank you.

Decline reason:

Did you guys get your lawyer to write that? It reads like it. Anyway, I'm not going to unblock you because you completely failed to read your block message. The edits from this account, as you were notified concerning above, fell afoul of our conflict of interest and username policies since they involved the article about Paegant Films. Furthermore, the use of "office" gave the impression that this account was intended for the use of a group of people, which we strongly discourage (and once again, that policy is explained and linked above in the text you seemed to ignore). Please review these policies and demonstrate that you have done so should you elect to file another unblock request. — Daniel Case (talk) 03:28, 11 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Proposed deletion of Pageant Films edit

The article Pageant Films has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A Google search for "Pageant Films" turned up thousands of results, all of which were related to beauty pageants. A Google search for "Pageant Films" "New Zealand" only turned up 63 results, all of which were also related to beauty pageants. Only two results were directly related to the article: the listing of the article itself and a Wikipedia bio for Gabriel Reid. Given this, the article fails WP:N and WP:V.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. elektrikSHOOS 18:11, 11 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
