Multi-cites and references

Hey, I saw on UberCryxic's talk page that you had a question on how to set up multi-cites (the a, b, c, d cites on a single footnote). It's not hard. The first time a reference appears replace the <ref> tag with <ref name=XXXX> where XXXX = any alphanumeric keyword. Then, to recall the same exact reference, instead of reprinting the entire thing, just replace the WHOLE reference set up (from <ref> to </ref> ) with <ref name=XXXX/> (note the final "slash" after the keyword). This works like this:

Example

This[1] sentance[1] is[1] referenced[2] using[2] multi-cites[1] to[3] gather[2] the[3] same[1] references.[3]

References

  1. ^ a b c d e this is my first one
  2. ^ a b c a second reference
  3. ^ a b c get the idea?

Need any more help, just drop a line at my talk page.--Jayron32|talk|contribs 17:11, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Wikiproject question

It's a good idea to leave the proposal out for a few weeks. I'll create the project later this month, sometime in the last five days or so.UberCryxic 05:19, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

RE: Voyage

Hey Paaerduag, thanks for contacting me over this. Unfortunately, despite my experience with the FAC process, I don't think I could offer much to a review about a game since I have no familiarity with the proper structure and other aspects that those types of articles require. The best thing to do would be to review other gaming articles that attained FA status or to ask for analysis and guidance from the people who've taken them there. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.UberCryxic 03:12, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

FAC

I appreciate you asking me about some featured articles, but I'm not the best person to ask. However, I do like what I see. I won't review it, but I wish you best of luck in getting featured article status. If it doesn't make FA, try aiming for Good article. Let me know how it comes out. I'm a fan of point-and-click adventure games. Alex 02:46, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

pictures

hi paaerduag there has been a lot of nasty stuff going on if you look at the deleted history of the discussion page, its all very sad. In good news though me and Uber have done the international chart list which is neat. In the discussion page I have left pictures for the wikiprodject for you to look at. Most of them are from the HIStory promo video or live shows dangerous era. I prefer the History ones myself. would you look at them and give feed back, uber would rather just the plain statue which is his choice obviously but I like these, he smiles in them, and he looks like a king!!! Would you also add some of your pictures?? I think we should have an area on the discussion page with JUST links going directly to a picture. we could see them all and make our preforances known elsewhere. Realist2 09:50, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

agreed it only looks bad on me and takes away the good i am trying to bring to the article, I have a way to go before I become a diplomat but I will learn. Like I said please discuss the pictures and add where you like. lets forget about all that and keep it positive. Realist2 09:58, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanx but it didnt help it doesn`t take you to the picture any more Just a wierd site If never seen. HaHa no stress but can you sort it out please. Realist2 10:08, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

excellent it works now I have added descriptions and will carry on doing this. cheers.Realist2 10:21, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Dirty Diana shoes.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dirty Diana shoes.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:06, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Request

Hello Paaerduag, there is an ongoing discussion at the Admin noticeboard about an article that was recently deleted by an admin. That article was List of Michael Jackson awards. If you could offer your opinion on this at the indicated link, it'd be much appreciated. Thank you.UberCryxic 19:23, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Michael Jackson Wikiproject

Hello, I have just created this. You can visit the project page here and join here.UberCryxic 03:20, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Hmmm

I really don't know where to find information like that. I suppose it comes up in various places for different songs. Were you thinking of any song in particular? Are you planning to take something to FA? If so, this would be a great first challenge for the new wikiproject. You, Realist, and myself could do a lot by working together on this.UberCryxic 07:30, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Yeah that'd be tough to do, mainly because of the citations as you said. I don't know....we could try it and see where we go. I was also thinking that maybe our main priority right now should be improving the Jackson 5 article, the only "FA" associated with the wikiproject (in quotes because it doesn't meet FA standards currently), and later taking the main Michael Jackson article to FA.UberCryxic 07:36, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Does your current FAC Voyage still need a copyedit? I saw some reviewers asking for that. I'm about to go sleep now (it's nearing 4 in the morning here in the US), but if you want one, I'll be happy to do it later today. I'm good at those.UberCryxic 07:41, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

joint effort

I was hoping you might be interested in helping me improving some songs with particular referance to Remember the time, in the closet, earthsong and your are not alone? I think this might improve the balance of the projectRealist2 11:27, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

FAC squabble

I'm sorry that this became personal. Perhaps I do have a brusque way of critiquing FACs, at least some of the time. It's a lot of work, there is a huge number of candidates, and we work against a director who seems to want to maximise the rate of promotions irrespective of the standards of writing. It just adds to the burden when I get flack, especially when I'm told that I should be doing the copy-editing myself, and that the comments of one reviewer can be dispensed with unless there's back-up from others. You're the first one to try that line. Tony 00:49, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Dirty Diana shoes.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dirty Diana shoes.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:41, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

FACs

Hey Paaerduag, it's generally not a good idea to have several FACs running all at once. You're supposed to be focusing on these nominations one at a time.UberCryxic 17:48, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey again. Congratulations on the featured articles! You did a really nice job.UberCryxic 00:01, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Your images uploads of photoshopped images

I've listed two images on WP:PUI as being unfree. Image:Michael photo.jpg and Image:Sophie photo.jpg. Photoshoping an image doesn't remove the copyright from an image. Megapixie 09:11, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Album tracks

So it's official? I did Thriller and Bad's two album tracks and User:Corvus cornix is putting them up for deletion. Superior1 06:28, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Well could you put your opinion on the AfDs for the album tracks? Superior1 07:03, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
