Actually, it is a valid message. Abuse reports are not investigated unless the account has been blocked at least 5 times. Given that this account was never blocked, there is no need for a report. Your legal threats at Talk:Port Charlotte High School

I appreciate you're a new user, but regarding these comments, please familiarise yourself with Wikipedia:No legal threats, Wikipedia:Ownership of articles and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest before making threats of this nature. Threats like "Do not vandalise this fine article unless you want your internet disconnected" are far more likely to result in one of "those crazy admins" blocking you. Please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that anyone can edit; other users have just as much right as you to edit the article.

I've also removed some of the more biased comments from this article. Please ensure you're familiar with Wikipedia's neutrality policy, which is a non-negotiable core policy of Wikipedia, before re-adding them or anything similar.

Welcome to Wikipedia, and I hope the above hasn't put you off; it's not a personal attack on you; a number of new users are unfamiliar with Wikipedia policies and inadvertently fall foul of them. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me or anyone else around here.iridescent 02:39, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Fcat.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Fcat.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. iridescent 02:45, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: Outsidepchs.jpeg

Hi! The image was deleted because it didn't meet our media policy: specifically, non-free images of existing buildings are generally unacceptable. Hope this helps! east.718 at 11:41, December 30, 2007

That would be great! This is one reason why non-free content is restricted - it encourages the creation of free content. east.718 at 01:16, December 31, 2007

My edits to Port Charlotte High School

As per your (now deleted) question, I'll briefly talk through the cleanup I did on that article to explain why each part was done:

  1. "Most Pirates are alumni of..." & "The school's top rivals are..." weren't removed, they were just moved up a paragraph. Besause I deleted the part about the "much vaunted" teams etc (these aren't facts but your personal opinions, so shouldn't be in Wikipedia), it left the remaining paragraph very short so I merged it with the paragraph above;
  2. The "Pirate PRIDE" section I deleted as a clear violation of neutrality policy;
  3. Image:Fcat.gif has been tagged for possible deletion as a likely copyright violation. By posting an image to Wikipedia (aside from a very limited number of "fair-use" cases), you're granting anyone the right to use & edit it. Since I assume you're not the owner of the copyright, you're not in a position to give permission;
  4. I changed "our" and "we" to "their" and "they" throughout; this should be an article about the organisation, not by it. Although it's not forbidden, the conflict of interest policy strongly discourages writing articles about anything you're connected with, as it's very difficult to maintain a neutral point of view;
  5. The part about copyrights I deleted; either it is copyright material, in which case you shouldn't be posting it on Wikipedia (or anywhere), or it's not copyright in which case the warning is irrelevant;
  6. "Frequently recognized for its distinguished performance at conferences at both the national and international level" I've tagged {{fact}}; for a claim like this, you need to provide a source;
  7. "Reputation for excellence" and "A fine course to consider" I've deleted as blatant advertising, as well as non-neutral;
  8. Finally, I've deleted your orders to anyone editing the page. The moment you post the article, you don't own it, the Wikimedia Foundation does; any other editor has just as much right to make any edit they like to the article (although unhelpful edits will quickly be reverted).

Hope that all helps. As I said on your talkpage, don't take my edits to the article as a personal attack or an attack on the subject — Wikipedia policies can be very confusing until you're used to them. By and large, the article's fine; it just needs a slight cleaning up. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to get back to me.iridescent 17:00, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

    • Actually, I encourage anyone who wants to edit the article to do so, as long as they don't vandalize. I would like to thank anyone who reverts vandalism, it ccertainly helps my cause. Also, I did not write the article myself, I'm simply trying to improve it. If you have any more ideas on how to improve it, please do so, my goal is to get it rated at least a GA, but hopefully an FA. And you're right, it needs a neutral point of view, it can't get such a high rating with a bias. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 17:16, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hi there. Orphaned non-free media (Image:PCHS CHAMPS CAFE.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:PCHS CHAMPS CAFE.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:59, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

thanks

Hey dude, thanks for doing that. I was researching info about that idoit boy people tried to file reports and where declined to help. Man dude you finally stop this prick from his games. Thanks for all your help. You may have stoped one of the wrost Wikipedian vandal in history. Oh it should be added in the books; that user:rio de oro , and user:GO-PCHS-NJROTC stoped user:Mmbabies from making threats aganist people. Thanks for all your help man.--Rio de oro (talk) 23:38, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
I wonder if we'll get barnstars out of this. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:40, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Not that it matters though. A barn star is like a military metal, there's no guide line stating that a person will recieve one for meeting a certain criteria, it's awarded when someone feels a user deserves it. It cannot be applied for like a scholarship either. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 18:47, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Hey dude, if you get this arrested would you vouch for me and tell Jimbo(the head guy) that I filed the report. I want Wikipedia history books to say that the both of us stoped this moron from harming people. Anyway dude, thanks alot dude. Without you , this guy would have harm someone.Anyway, wtf is a barnstar. Like a Medal of Honor here on Wikipedia. Thats pretty cool we get them.Rio de oro (talk) 18:55, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

my page.

Can you protect my talk page. I'm afraid that guy might try to threaten me or something as retailation or something since he might of read the abuse report or someone told him.--Rio de oro (talk) 23:42, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm afraid not, I'm not an admin. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:06, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for helping out dude. Spread the word that Mmbabies is gone from here.Rio de oro (talk) 01:08, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Don't get your hopes too high, we don't really know yet. Lets wait and see what happens. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:10, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
How long does it take to get a reply. Anyway do a WHOIS on that ip, I swear to god there is 800 # to AT&T abuse department. WHOIS that mfs ip addressRio de oro (talk) 01:13, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Right here http://samspade.org/whois/68.90.62.244. Look down at the # for abuse .Rio de oro (talk) 01:15, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
It would be better to wait and see what happens. Most ISPs prefer abuse reports by email, despite the fact that the volunteer manual says to call them when possible. That only applies to schools and organizations like that. If abuse continues from their customer, I will file a complaint against AT&T through the Better Business Bureau at http://search.bbb.org or maybe the Florida Department of Argriculture and Consumer Services at http://www.800helpfla.com. Either of them would mail a copy of my complaint to AT&T, and that beats calling them any day. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:35, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

contacts

Hey dude, have you tried google found Alief Independent School District website. They have to have a website, so you can contact their audit department , or 24-HR Police Department. Also any luck on getting AT&T on the phone. What about FBI; I thought the FBI was strict on this. I guess they spend their $$$$ on finding OBL(you know), and tracking pervs. What about idoits like user:Mmbabies. Thats my opinion, I dont work for the FBI. Give me an update on your contacts.--Rio de oro (talk) 18:52, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
It look like that bastard Mmbabies used the Alief ISD ip again. FEB 4 2008.

205.196.178.200(I found that while looking at his latest puppets.) Pardon my vulgar on saying that the b-word. I hope I'm my edit is not reverted. I have the freedom of speech.--Rio de oro (talk) 22:53, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

user:205.196.178.200 whois has a contact number of a guy for the ALIEF ISD's ISP maybe this guy could trace or find Mmbabies name/house so we can prosecute this bastard.Rio de oro (talk) 22:49, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't see enough evidence to say that the edit made on February 4th was made by Mmbabies. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:53, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

barnstar

Hey dude, do we each a get a barnstar for reporting that idoit boy Mmbabies. I should be creditied on this as much of you dude. --Rio de oro (talk) 22:26, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Now this joker, now knows my user name now. If he makes a threat aganist me I'm making a report to TEXAS RANGERS ONLINE.Rio de oro (talk) 15:37, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

contacts

I would I've called the Houston cops , but I dont want that Mmbabies knowing my address. PCHS- when you phoned the cops from Houston did you your "real name" or a persona (ie. fake name). Just asking or Mmbabies might track you down.Rio de oro (talk) 01:19, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
He don't scare me, I've seen scum like him before. He's probably some bored welfare bum using a phone line the taxpayers are paying for, the sooner it's disconnected, the better I like it. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:32, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
And that's not a personal attack, I've seen similar situations before. Just ask the dumb cheerleaders at Charlotte High School (Punta Gorda, Florida), they can make up more crap than anyone I know. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:33, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Oh yeah, and that's not a personal attack at all cheerleaders, the ones at PCHS for example are good people, but the CHS tarpons however...
PCHS- if you got a relative or a friend that lives in Texas ; just ask them to phone to Texas Rangers on Mmbabies . Rio de oro (talk) 01:21, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't know anyone out there, and the Texas Rangers refered me to the Houston Police. Maybe if you tried calling 911 and giving them the address found at http://www.whitepages.com/10867/search/ReversePhone/?phone=7136657701 they'd be willing to take a report over the phone. It could be considered an emergency because death threats were made. Do not give the cops a false name! GO-PCHS-NJROTC

(talk) 01:29, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Okay, dude I dont. Mmbabies hasnt found your email. He hasnt made a off-wiki threat right. Any way dude for some help contact mr user:Mike Godwin . He is legal guy for the Wiki foundation. or mr user:Jimbo Walles. The two guys, are the head chesses here on Wikipedia if you need help they can help you more. Also Mr. Godwin's phone number is on his page. I dont want to post it here I dont want to make the Pandora's box more hard to close. --Rio de oro (talk) 01:31, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I will. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:34, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
If Mmbabies is arrested, your name is not going to be on the file in Harris County(HOUSTON,TX PD) or what. Or do you have to drive to houston, tx for his trial. Maybe tommrow Mmbabies is going to be his "welcome" from the jail , or the "sting" from the "soap"(catch my drift)--Rio de oro (talk) 01:43, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Too bad they won't be doing anything, they don't take reports over the phone. My only hope is the FBI at this time. I may be able to call the fbi from the Dean's Office at school, but they block Wikipedia on the school network (blame the Tarpons at Charlotte High and Manta Rays at Lemon Bay, now all of us suffer from their vandalism, including Port Charlotte Pirates). I wonder if they block the secure wikpedia website? GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:50, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Does any of your RTOC pals, now about "this". Does the dean give to 2 CENTS you use the phone or he gets on PO'd--Rio de oro (talk) 01:54, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
This time thank the other schools, their pranks got the payphones removed so we have to go to the deans office to make calls, and it doesn't cost anything. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:59, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
How do you plan to spend in the evening trying to prosecute this clown. Anyway dude , wtf is Embraq. Is it some strict ISPRio de oro (talk) 02:02, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Embarq, as seen on the Embarq article, is what used to be called "Sprint" before Sprint/Nextel made the old Sprint local telecom change their name. I have a phone/DSL line through them as well as Dish Network TV all on one bill. I know the person in charge of their abuse department, so anyone who vandalizes the Port Charlotte High School or JROTC articles from an Embarq Florida IP address is a total idiot. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 23:43, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
email for mr.godwin . (mgodwin[at]wikimedia.org--Rio de oro (talk) 02:21, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I already did, but not through that email address. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 23:43, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I bet Mmbabies is going to get arrested TODAY.Rio de oro (talk) 22:45, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Do you think Mmbabies is Juan Miranda(the guy that had that phone number)Rio de oro (talk) 01:09, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
I have a split opinion on that. If it's not him, it's probably someone he knows, or it could be some random phone number he extracted from the phone book to distract the cops. Too bad for him, however, he was crazy enough to use an IP address to vandalize, and AT&T would know exactly where he lives, and it appears the FBI maybe trying to work with them top track him down. I think someone needs to be bold and use a payphone or something to call that number and attempt to determine who that is and what relation, if any, the person has to Mmbabies, perhaps it's even Mmbabies himself. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:32, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Is that new sock really Mmbabies. It was a TORR . Wtf is a TORR . Rio de oro (talk) 20:48, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
TOR, as explained in the TOR article, is a nonprofit network which allows internet users to use open proxies in order to hide their identity. It is run on a volunteer basis. Although the intent of the system is not malicious, it is unfortunate that some of it's users has used it for malicious purposes, such as Wikipedia vandalism. If you want to know more, just go to their website at https://www.torproject.org or see the TOR Wikipedia article. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 20:56, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
I think Mmbabies is on to us. Have you tried to called the number from a payphone. Rio de oro (talk) 21:31, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
No, but I might try calling it from the courtesy phone in the ROTC room at school, or maybe the dean's office. But school is for learning, so I might not get a chance to. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 21:35, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Have you tried? Another great way to call it would be to use *67 from your personal phone. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 21:36, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

He came back today using another IP 75.1.23.79, IP was blocked a few hours ago. Momusufan (talk) 04:02, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to call this AT&T abuse number (1-800-648-1626) right now on my cell phone to report Mmbabies activities. I'm going to give them a piece of my mind on Mmbabies work. Is 1-800 numbers are they toll free. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rio de oro (talkcontribs) 18:30, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

mmb?

Any luck with that FBI guy responding back to deal with Mmb. I thought this guy was going to hunt Mmbabies down like a rat. Rio de oro (talk) 22:18, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:20, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
You see, these organizations are like Wikipedia's own CheckUser system, they have policies against disclosing any information about the case. Although some organizations will respond that "the appropriate action was taken", they usually won't provide specific details. Some won't disclose any information at all. For internet crime, the FBI is one of those organizations. However, that request for more information from that special agent looks promising, that's the first time I've seen anything like that from them in these kind of cases. AT&T might disclose information to the Better Business Bureau who will probably pass any response from the company down to me, but who knows what will happen. I do know calling AT&T for more information about the action they have taken against Mmbabies would be a total waste of time, they won't disclose any information at all directly. My fear is that Mmbabies is editing from free public wifi and the administrator of the wifi network doesn't have the guts to block Mmbabies' MAC address. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:42, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
I notice that his last two "socks" came from Houston TX(via AT&T ). I know that AT&T has DSL , DIAL-UP. I herd from my friend's cousin that works with AT&T that AT&T has WI-FI or something like WIFI. I bet that Mmbabies probably knows some pals in Houston that probably have WIFI on a laptop. Also, why didnt Plano,Texas PD not arrest this prick in October 2007 when he threatend Ms. Jaci Vascquez. I thought Yamala reported him to Plano PD for that bs.--Rio de oro (talk) 00:13, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
I say it's more like a public wifi network available without cost to people located in Houston, Texas, or perhaps a restaurant, airport, computer store, or something of similar nature. My question is why the heck they don't just block his MAC address. By the way, what dept. does your friend's cousin work in? Would he be able to do something? I've got a school friend whose dad works at the Embarq abuse dept, and that's why I say it's suicide for them Pollywogs from Lemon Bay High School and Charlotte High School (Punta Gorda, Florida) to vandalize the Port Charlotte High School article. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:27, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
My friend's cousin works as a rep call center for AT&T but I dont think he works in the Internet DEPARTMENT. Just the phone department for phone issues about line repair I think. Rio de oro (talk) 00:36, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Darn it, I was hoping he was in the IT. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:38, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
I didnt want him to be dragged along here on this rat hunt for the idoit boy. I'm wondering why Mmbabies wasnt locked up in the fall for making death threats to Jaci Valaezquez. He was reported to the Plano TX PD. Nothing came of that. WTF, happend --Rio de oro (talk) 00:42, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Go here 75.16.218.167 he posted another death threat Just recently. Momusufan (talk) 02:47, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Momufusa; if pchs aint here. Post the "latest" socks news on my talk page. Rio de oro (talk) 23:15, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
PCHS , hey dude. Mmbabies left a new death thrat. Has that FBI guy made a another call to you. Just asking. I'm at a break right now from homework. I was also responding to a wikipedia threat that was placed on article(in Plano HS @ Texas). I was helping to help contact the authorities on this. It was on WP:ANI. The idoit that did that was reported to the cops. I dont get it, Mmbs has been making death threats left and right. But, a guy that makes a threat to a school people all go all crazedd trying to bust this guy like Dog the Bounty Hunter. --Rio de oro (talk) 23:10, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
PCHS, I just want your opinion on this. The difference between this ...(bs) this edit , and Mmb. Now tell me how are the two the same , or what. Because the ANI treats the two different.--Rio de oro (talk) 23:26, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
It's really hard to tell a threat from a promise at times. I'm not saying Mmbabies shouldn't be taken seriously, but I doubt that he's really gonna try anything, I think he would have done so by now. Honestly, I don't know why they don't do anything, but because I know from personal experience that really pushing the cops to fry someone isn't always the best idea in some situations. See, I got framed of this kind of crap a couple years ago from some jack ass cheerleader from Charlotte High, and did 21 days for nothing. I resent law enforcement that totally ignore crimes, but I have no idea what they're doing, and I know pushing them around doesn't do anything but turn them against you, and everyone else, against you. Plus, I've seen a lot of internet crime since then, and I have gained experience working with abuse depts, law enforcement, and that kind of crap, it's all part of a goal to fry sam (that's as specific as it gets, damn tarpon cheerleader, pirate cheerleaders are much prettier than those morrons) and her pathetic spammer friends (bring it on morrons, I'm dying to see you send me more crap so I can report more of your trash), and that's exactly what brought me to Wikipedia, reporting vandals. I then decided to create an account, and from there, I started improving the Port Charlotte High School article, as well as some others. As previously stated, Mmbabies should NOT be ignored by any means, but don't let him drive you to Saturn or anything. See, I'm a redneck, I have zero tolerance for anything crazy, but I never let anyone drive me insane beyond reason. By the way, PSHS has one heck of a cool school article, I want to make PCHS' article that good. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 23:47, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
And yes, they both deserve to be taken seriously. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 23:50, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
That must have sucked being in Juvie for 21 days(if you were). I'm not not critizing you dude, because some b___ @$$ cheerleader framed you dude. Rio de oro (talk) 01:35, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Yep, it did, and that pollywog didn't get into trouble at all. I'll bet she's even a Wikipedia vandal. What a bunch of bull huh. I can't stand those tarpons (do remember that they're not all evil, however), especially their cheerleaders. Not to say I hate cheerleaders though, I'm friends with almost all of them at PCHS. Now, tell me who's the better school! GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:28, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
I bet that cheerleader goes to some preppie school that its just Abercrombie and Hollister.--Rio de oro (talk) 22:51, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Worse than just a preppie school, Charlotte High School (not to be confused with Port Charlotte High School) is a school with preppie crack pot;, CHS has a very bad behavioral record, followed by LBHS, which is somewhere between being the worst or the best HS in CCPS, and then there's PCHS where I go, that has the best record in CCPS, but we have our bas ones too. The sad thing is that while our county has plenty of crime, we're far from being the worst, it just makes me wonder what this world is coming to. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 02:30, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
There was once a time when students in extracurricular activities, such as NJROTC, band, sports, cheerleading, and such were the example setters, but those days are long gone, I hear they evaporated in the '60s. What ashame. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 02:33, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Mmb update (as of March 16,2008)

Has that FBI cop guy called you back of what he is going to about Mmb. I am going to call that (713) number on my cell phone ; to see who the hell it is. I will just *67 , it and fake my voice& name. I dont want this character to act like that guy from The_Silence_of_the_Lambs_(film) Rio de oro (talk) 18:37, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
The FBI internet crime divisions usually don't discuss their cases unless 1: You are the victum of a serious internet crime, 2: It is a contraversial case which is of wide public interest, or 3: They've busted the criminal and they need someone to come and testify (it's not likely they will call me, there are other witnesses that probably know a bit more about this particular incident, they'll probably only call people that are administrators). This is because a lot of what they do is undercover work, so disclosing too much info could ruin their efforts to track this guy down. As far as calling the # goes, it's probably not a bad idea, just make sure you don't blow your cover. Also, don't tell him that the FBI is after him, this will cause him to panic and probably head for Mexico or somewhere. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 21:49, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Does Mmb act more crazed than that guy Hannibal from The_Silence_of_the_Lambs_(film) or from Hannibal(the movie). I think Mmb is mentally ill , and I think he is on Zoloft , or ProzacRio de oro (talk) 20:19, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
I don't know, but I think I just found LBHS Cheerleader's myspace page, there's a myspace page who reportedly belongs to a cheerleader from Lemon Bay named Jessica, and she's a blond, and not a pretty one either. I'm also wondering if it's not User:Bobabobabo based on an edit which was made to Cheerleading, how do we know that girl hasn't moved to Florida. Stupid pollywogs from H-E-Double Hockey Sticks. I don't care, they can go fly a kite, I'm afraid this deserves attention from various organizations because they are discriminating based on my age. I do hope they don't go putting some silly range block in place when AT&T just gave me that cooperative phone call, remember the fact that it was not them that walked the plank to get that guy disconnected. See, I'm not a very fun internet user to bully around, thousands of hackers and fraudsters outside of Wikipedia have been disconnected and arrested thank's to my anti internet abuse efforts. Since they want lazy adults that have no backbone to take charge of this post, I don't see any reason for me to stay. Hope they have fun! 74.4.117.0 (talk) 21:40, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

No we are not discriminating based on age. We are discriminating based on childish behaviour I am afraid. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 21:54, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
I wish you'd clearify, I can't see how reportng abuse to AT&T and the FBI instead of hiding my head in the sand is childish. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:05, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
That's the problem -- you overstepped your bounds by contacting the FBI. It's best to leave it to the more advanced echelons of the Wikipedia ladder when you get the government involved. -- azumanga (talk) 03:44, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Okay, but the reason I contacted the FBI is because it's something I do regularly about other internet problems, and I once saw an "essay" here saying that all threats should be taken seriously and Wikipedians should contact the cops or even 911. I'll look for that one again so you know the exact "essay," but if you don't want people to contact law enforcement, why would an "essay" like that be permitted to exist here. I'm confused. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 21:03, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
You mean Wikipedia:Threats of violence? Theresa Knott | The otter sank 21:29, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I think that's the one, and I think it's been greatly shortened since I had last read it. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 21:48, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
That's because it is being hotly debated with posts every day. It is a very new proposed policy that hasn't been accepted yet and may never be accepted. However even that page says "ignore" in bold at the bottom. Speculating on whether the troll is male or female, whether they are posting thier own phone number, their mental state, and whether they are on a low income is the exact opposite of ignoring them. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 21:52, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Okay, the "welfare bum" part may have escalated too far, but my point on the "male or female" issue was NOT in relation at all with Rio's phone number speculation, it was the complete opposite, stating that even though there was a chance that the phone number was Mmbabies', there was also a chance that it was NOT Mmbabies' and we needed to consider the possibility that it could be a girl. Besides, why are we still debating this, Mmbabies is probably gone, and we're giving him more attention than he deserves. I say continue to keep on the look out for now and if he doesn't edit for another couple months, then we ought to consider AT&T's promise as a dream come true and burn (not literally) all of the remains of the investigation to prevent copy cats, but I think we ought to look for similar vandalism from other ISPs in the area, she/he might just get another ISP (if she/he can) and continue to vandalize, and if she/he does, we need to attempt to get it disconnected to. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:46, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi GPN, when you have the time I would like to chat. Your talk page is fine, because once I post, I have set my preferences to watchlist this page. I am a little worried about you, because I think you might not realize who your "friendlies" are. . .and I think your a good editor who is trying to make the wiki better. Just drop a note here and I will elaborate further --or not-- completely your choice. Best, R. Baley (talk) 08:34, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Friendlies? GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 21:04, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
People who are on your side. . . in the heat of an argument, sometimes any one of us will lose sight of that. Try to minimize the impact of outside troublemakers, don't give them the satisfaction of driving good editors to turn against each other. As long as you're here to make Wikipedia better (and I believe that you are), Theresa is actually on your side. Hope that helps to clarify, R. Baley (talk) 21:52, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
That's good to hear. See, I guess I disagree with Wikipedia a bit, I think that a good way to handle vandals is to fight them with ISP contacts and such, teach them that Wikipedia is not to be messed with. I hear many of the worlds worst hackers get their start by vandalizing Wikipedia pages. In my opinion, it's like when the Bible says "If you spare the rod, you will spoil the child," and that isn't to imply that all vandals are kids, but adult vandals are people who act as bad or worse than immature children. That's why I'm aggressive at vandals, I'm trying to not "spare the rod." Yes, I'm here to improve Wikipedia, I would not have chosen the name "GO-PCHS-NJROTC" had I been here to vandalize, I'm here to set an example to others and show Pirate P-R-I-D-E (Preparation, respect, integrity, determination, and excellence). No, being a PCHS student is not a requirement to show Pirate PRIDE, anyone can do it (some people wouldn't call it "pirate" pride, but it's still the same concept). GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:17, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
No many of the worlds hackers do not get a start by vandalisinf wikipedia, and teaching them that "wikipedia is not to be messed with" is entirely the wrong approach. Most (not all) vandals are simply kids messing about. Contacting an ISP in order to deal with kids messing about is the wrong approach and if we do it too much will likely simply piss the ISP off. Which would be a shame because we do sometimes need to enlist ISP help for really serious agressive users. Remember that Wikipedia is a completely open website where we allow anyone to edit. Since we have no "security" whatsoever vandalism is our problem not an ISP's. We should deal with it in the way we always have- mostly by simply reverting, occasionally using other methods such as blocking. Note that in the time I have been an admin here, antivandalism measures have improved enormously, rollback, bots, newbies contributions page, hide logged in users from recent changes, temporary protection, semiprotection, soft blocking, disabling page moves by newbie users, disable page creation by non logged in editors, and the spam blacklist are all measures that have caused vandalism to become less and less of a problem.
Most people in real life are not even aware that wikipedia is ever vandalised. You pretty much have to go looking for vandals unless you have a page like penis or george bush on your watch list. There is no need to talk of punishing the vandals. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 15:42, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm disappointed that my comment was misinterpreted, I didn't mean every vandal on Wikipedia moves on to hacking or spamming, it's just I've heard of some hackers who have started out damaging Wikipedia articles and then resorted to hacking when Wikipedia vandalism became no longer enough to satisfy them. I've heard that theory more than once, I'm not saying that the theory of most hackers starting out here is true, but I've heard it from various sources, one of those sources being a licenced professional with a college degree in computers and who tracks hackers for a living, I'm going to guess that he determined that based on IP comparison. Many ISPs do take Wiki abuse seriously. Some consider the type of vandalism (for example, some ISPs may care more about Wiki harassment more than writing "John Doe was here" on articles while others have zero tolerence). Remember ISPs aren't always going to step right in and clip someone's line on their first offense, it usually starts with a warning. To an ISP, Wikipedia is no different than any other forum, blog, or newsgroup, they have policies against such abuse. No, biting someone over something mild is a bad idea, it can often be someone with nothing to do that decides to play around with the project, but I think it's pretty easy to tell the difference between at work, home, or school just creating a little bit of mischief and a dedicated vandal continually fighting blocks and bans who will likely just get wilder and wilder after every block, eventually leading to someone so mad at the project that they learn to hack, hack many inocent people's computers, then come back to crash the whole Wikipedia website (not that I'm trying to imply that Mmbabies or anyone else would make that exact move, but rather that any of these dedicated vandals might get in rage and make similar moves; I have seen threats of such actions outside of Wikipedia which I have treated as you would: report, block, and ignore since there's no need to give them too much attention). Get Real?

Regarding Wikipedia:Abuse reports/24.59.108.241, maybe instead of "get real", you could educate a new volunteer on how to correctly document an IP for vandalism abuse? It certainly seemed like I was doing it the right way when I was doing it. I've only been on here a couple of months but I definitely see why you (we?) have the Wikipedia:bite policy. - Operknockity (talk) 07:37, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Okay, that sounds good. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 14:06, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, when I first started working with the project, it took me a little while to figure it out to. But just like it seemed to you that you were reporting IPs correctly, it seemed like I was rejecting them correctly, I'll try not to "bite" anymore. By the way, it sure makes abuse reporting a lot easier when you read Wikipedia:GTAR, it tells you all (well, almost all) of the DOs and DON'Ts. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 14:13, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I hadn't found that article. I've skimmed it and read the "This is a last resort" paragraph. I'll read it more thoroughly later this morning.
FYI - What led me to do it that way was that after I posted two warnings to that IP's talk page, User:Momusufan posted the {whois|Road Runner HoldCo LLC} template which states, "In the event of vandalism from this address, efforts should be made to contact Road Runner HoldCo LLC to report abuse, which can be done here." So I clicked on 'here' and reported it. Having gone back over my steps, I now see that I missed the line stating, "Make sure that the IP in question has been blocked at least five times in recent history, or the request will be rejected." I've bolded the "blocked at least five times" on that page so the next near sighted newbie might catch it more easily. - Operknockity (talk) 15:16, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

your edits to various sports pages

I have reverted your addition of claims like "In some communist nations, basketball is banned" to numerous sports pages. I would like to assume good faith here but the fact that you added the same text to a handful of pages all at once suggests an agenda. You need to provide citations for such claims, and I don't think they have a place in any of those articles, but they certainly do not belong in the lead paragraph. These articles are about sporting pursuits; political POV pushing is not acceptable. Simishag (talk) 20:53, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Sure, I can find a citation. But maybe later, I'm working on something not POV right now, and this one is on the bottom of my priorities for now. Sorry for any confusion or hard feelings. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 20:55, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

User:UBX/vandalized-combo

Hello, just to let you know, I've reverted your edits to the above user box. The existence of these userboxes has been criticized before for giving too much recognition to vandals. While I'm not one of these critics (obviously, since I use the box myself) your edits put it a little over the top, in my opinion. Since vandals will undoubtedly do what they do anyway, it's best not to antagonize them further. I'd be happy to discuss this if you disagree, however. Please feel free to let me know. Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:07, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

I edited the template so it would point out that vandals are wasting their time. , I guess I'm one of those critics that think that as the template currently stands, it appears to just simply give vandals more attention than they deserve. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 03:36, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

thanks

Hey,

Unfortunately my RfA was unsuccessful, it closed within an hour or two after it began. Four oppose votes, one was from a disgruntled contributor who I upset a few months ago by PRODing an article he wrote, and the other three simply felt I was unqualified at this time, primarily due to not enough mainspace edits. All suggested I devote my time to actually writing articles instead of patrolling new pages and writing abuse reports.

In any event, I wanted to thank you for your nomination and support. I didn't have my hopes up to begin with, but the fact someone believed in me enough to submit me to RfA makes me think I'm doing something right. I'm not going to stop patrolling the new page log, or vandal fighting, that's what I love to do and its one of the things that brought me to Wikipeida in the first place, but I'm going to try admin coaching and do some more copyediting and article expansion and hopefully in a few months I can give it another go.

Thanks again man, I really look forward to continuing to work with you.

Barnstar thanks

Hi GO thanks for the Barnstar. I appreciate the appreciation! Also for asking about adminship - I responded to Hu12 here. As with Hu12, my appreciation also extends to your own role as an admin. Keep up the good work! -- SiobhanHansa 09:14, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

76.7.2.144 belonging to Embarq

I found this IP vandalising today, belongs to Embarq. Contributions Momusufan (talk) 19:20, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Edgar181 blocked the IP for a month, it's been blocked 3 prior times in the past as well, Block log. Momusufan (talk) 19:28, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Thank's! Yeah, I can certainly contact them, but if you're thinking my friend's dad can do anything about this one, you've got a misunderstanding as he works in west Florida, including, but certainly not limited to, Port Charlotte, Florida and Punta Gorda, Florida. This IP belongs to a person in Kansas, but I'm sure they will do something (after all, Kansas is the home of their corporate HQ). Also, unless it's an IP which doesn't qualify for Wikipedia:Abuse reports, you should seriously consider listing troublesome IPs like this one there, I'm an investigator and a contactor there. One last thing, that's a static IP address according to the letters "sta" in the domain for the IP, so if we can't get this morron disconnected (although I think they will cooperate), we can certainly place a very, very, very long block on her/him. This one look's like a school IP. In that case, the abuse dept. will notify the school. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 21:17, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

IP abuse

I got an IP you may want to look into, I filed an abuse report on it. You can see it Here. It's been blocked 19 times and I think it's time to shut em' down. Momusufan (talk) 16:54, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Embarq Tor IP 76.4.223.205

i'm putting up open proxies on WP:OP and I happened to find an Embarq IP thats acting as a Tor exit node. I'm not sure if anything can be done, but here's the info on the Tor node Here. Momusufan (talk) 04:17, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

The IP only made one edit, and it looks like it's dynamic. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 18:49, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Investigations

Ok well if thats what works for you, you go ahead and do it.

im not saying including the log to them is a bad thing (i include it in the email message) but its not the only thing to send.

    • My emails didnt bounce back or anything, i just didnt get a reply (which i agree is not unusual but u give them 3 days to reply) i sent the reports from my ISP's SMTP server (Internode) which is extremlty reptuable, i would never send a report from hotmail because thats unprofessional (and it doest work with all spam filters) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Prom3th3an (talkcontribs) 06:09, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Your favorite music

Dude, what kind of music do you like. I like classic rock, some modern rock. My user page has my favorite bands. I like to listen to Chiacgo(band) , Led Zepplein , The Doors, Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Jose Felicano, SANTANA(Carlos Santana and the other guys that were his back up), Jimi Hendrix. I listen to some LPs my parents have in the attic.Rio de oro (talk) 20:44, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
I listen to country music. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:04, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Johnny Cash is a good country singer. FYI; I only brought this to b.s. about different stuff after the "fiasco" at MMb crap. Since called a "teenage mutant turtle". I dont really give a s- about it I've been called worse.--Rio de oro (talk) 02:18, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

RE: WP:ABUSE

Typically if they have less than 5, they are always declined. This is mostly because there are not enough people working on these, and they pile up. Read through them though, and use your judgement. If you feel that there needs to be an exception, thats fine. But yes, all the instruction pages say that accounts should be blocked at least 5 times, so the people filing the reports should know that. - Rjd0060 (talk) 20:30, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Reverted edit for "76.179.164.79" on 19:33, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Could you possabily provide for me the artical that was reverted? 76.179.164.79 (talk) 19:38, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

The article is National Bolshevism. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (Messages) 19:45, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:List of banned users

I don't see any discussion leading to an explicit ban of LBHS Cheerleader (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). (The closest is this WP:ANI entry.) On the other hand, if a user is blocked and nobody is willing to reverse the action, he can be considered to be de facto banned. This includes the notorious vandals like "Willy on Wheels" or "Vandal with a grudge".

I also see this user as a simple vandal account of a "revert, block, ignore" variety, that doesn't have to be logged at WP:BANLIST. You can see that the above mentioned vandals aren't listed there. (And if - and I refrain on judging whether or not this is the case - it's a sockpuppet account of an already banned user, (s)he doesn't need a separate entry, either.)

So much for my opinion; you may put the user for discussion at the appropriate talk page. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 08:10, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Sounds fair. From another point of view, this vandal may already be gone, there's a good chance that it's the same user who made this edit seeing how I;ve not seen her vandalizing since that IP was reported to Embarq. It totally agree that there are some cases that should be reverted and then forgotten, but I also think that some cases should be taken seriously. This one seems more of just a preppy little troll who thinks it's funny to harass the Wikipedians, or maybe she thinks it's cheery and shows school spirit. Call me a ROTC nazi if you want, but I personally find it funny to get those kind of preppy troublemakers who think they can get away with anything into really big trouble. Alas, I guess maybe this one isn't quite destructive enough to place on the banned user list. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 16:55, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Abuse report on 167.128.156.40/167.128.156.45/167.128 range

OK, so I tried reporting these addresses to you, since I'm so pissed off at them; shower them with a bunch of polite warnings and WikiLove, but they're still vandalizing, especially the VeggieTales and Strawberry Shortcake articles. They even tried my vandalizing wiki site, too. I know you don't accept users who are only blocked once or twice, but how can we deal with these persistent vandals? Blake Gripling (talk) 00:07, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Aye aye sir, why didn't you say that it was a range in the first place? So I take it you own that other wiki, right? Have you tried calling them? Seeing how you own that other wiki site, you'd be more likely to get a positive response contacting them yourself if you have any experience dealing with ISPs. Do you still want me to handle this? I'd gladly contact them now that I know we're dealing with a range. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 19:12, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
For sure, sir; I'm pretty sure we can handle this one... The edits made to Strawberry Shortcake, VeggieTales and other articles appear to be similar and may come from either a single student, a group of students or something similar... Blake Gripling (talk) 23:24, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I'll call them tomarrow (I'm assuming by the word "we" that you'd like me to handle the case). GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 23:26, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I hope this turns out well... God Bless and have a nice day... Blake Gripling (talk) 00:35, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Thank you, you do the same. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:39, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

69.142.202.92

Thank you for that message on my talk page about my report of abuse. I didn't know what to do about this one, and I'll know better next time. Meanwhile, the addresses seem to have been quiet. Thanks again for taking the trouble to get in touch with me about this. Macspaunday (talk) 23:12, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
