Touring the Angel

Tour of the Universe

Hi. Please do not vandalise this page. You are repeating the same information within the introduction and the overview. Furthermore, a separate overview is unnecessary until the completion of the tour.

The Billboard information is not particularity notable. Perhaps if the group were in the top 10 of that list, but 20th in a list of 25 acts... I do not deem it noteworthy. (Freak.scenery (talk) 14:22, 16 December 2009 (UTC))

Explain to me why you think this information is worthy for inclusion. For the uninformed reader, there is no description of what a "tour projection" is, nor is there a description of how these "projections" are utilised. (Freak.scenery (talk) 16:11, 20 December 2009 (UTC))

I certainly have no idea what you mean by "tour projections", I'm guessing they are the various videos that are displayed on the screens in concert for each song. As I have said before, the Billboard information is not particularly notable. It is also unrepresentative: while for most, if not all of the other acts the data considers all tour dates on their particular schedule, the data for Depeche Mode only takes into account the dates on the North and South American legs. Subtle Errors

You appear to be introducing subtle errors into articles, as you did here and here. I'm not sure of your intentions, but such errors might be misconstrued as "Sneaky vandalism" (see Page blanking#Types of vandalism). PopMart

And Oceania and Africa are different continents. U2 does not have a PopMart page up last time I checked (yesterday), and every source I have seen lists it as four legs. It is entirely possible for the same leg to visit multiple continents and, looking at the date gap, it's fairly obvious it is the same leg. Stop edit-warring. I have to second this. You are clearly going to a lot of effort and time to add info - but, your efforts don't mean much if you don't add your sources. Yet, the effort taken to simply provide a source is minimal in comparison to the actual your efforts so far. You just have to go that tiny bit further. U2 360 box scores

I have reverted your edits that restored the table. There was a discussion on the talk page some time ago and it was removed due to concerns about accuracy. Beyond that, the sourcing is incorrect, the list serves little purpose not already summarized by a sentence in the article discussing the total gross for the year, and other editors have indicated that they also believe such lists to be redundant. Quite simply we don't need an inaccurate breakdown of every single city when a sentence in the prose for the year's gross serves much better to get the data across. I encourage you to reopen the discussion on the article's talk page if you feel differently as opposed to reverting again and turning it into an edit war. Depeche Mode tour articles

I'm getting tired of reverting these edits. And evidently you are not interested in reaching consensus on this by continuing to engage in edit warring. I guess I would have a hard time understanding you anyway since it appears English is not your first language. "Stop, not change" is not a good enough reason to keep the tour date listings appearance the way it was.

My reason for changing the appearance is to remove the breaks in the listings because, in my opinion, the tour dates flow much better in one box rather than a dozen or so separate boxes. In its previous appearance, if a user edited a section then a break would usually have to be subsequently added to give some distance between each of the boxes, which was a cumbersome process. Furthermore, the columns have also been widened to make use of the extra space on the page. The support acts are listed in their own section lower down the article, which makes sense because such information is not of major importance.

I haven't run into any objections on any of the other band touring articles in which I have updated the appearance of the tour date listings, such as Black Ice World Tour or World Magnetic Tour. So why exactly are you so opposed to this? (Freak.scenery (talk) 15:45, 1 June 2010 (UTC)).

I don't know, the updated appearance looks pretty orderly to me; I can't see how it could be any more ordered. The different legs are very easy to identify through the headers within the darker-shaded boxes. As I said, information about support acts are really not of critical importance; they do not need to be mixed in with the listings of tour dates. Those who want to find out which act supported at whatever date can do so by checking the particular section. Breaking up the listings with support acts is cumbersome especially in the case of the Touring the Angel article, where there are a total of 22 support acts in the final leg (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Touring_the_Angel&oldid=365079075). Depeche Mode discography#Singles - Personal Jesus 2011 French chart position

Hi,

Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus 2011"-single chart position in the wikipedia discography should be #91, not #11. I corrected it already once, but you removed it and added it as "Wrong peak position". That's why I decided to let you know why #91 is the correct position in this case.

It's true that "Personal Jesus 2011" reached #11 in France on 30 May 2011, but that was on the French Physical Singles Chart which includes only the sales for CD- and vinyl-singles. Since 4 February 2011, the Official French Singles Chart also includes download sales to the Official Singles Chart. Therefore there's at the moment three French Singles Charts; the Official Top 100 Singles (physical+download), Top 100 Physical Singles Chart (only physical sales), Top 50 Download Chart (only digital/download sales). Out of these the first one should in all cases be used here on the Wikipedia as it represents the "true" singles sales in France. For example the week "Personal Jesus 2011" reached #11 on the Physical Chart, it didn't even chart on the combined Top 100 Chart, an indication of how minimal the physical singles sales actually is in France.

The #91 chart position was reached already in 18 April 2011 (listed as 23/04/2011 on LesCharts.com), when the single was relased in digital format and charted on download sales. There's however an error for that week on that chart on LesCharts.com (http://lescharts.com/weekchart.asp?year=2011&date=20110423&cat=s ) as it lists the #91 chart psoition as a re-entry for the Original 1989 version, but it should be listed as the 2011 version, and therefore the #91 chart position is not in the list for Depeche Mode's chart history on that page.
