Translations

Shalom, Omer (you're the bearer of an important name, is that why you like Greek mythology?) The book you mention for translation seems very interesting and hope will have many editions in many other languages, but at this early stage do you think it's encyclopedically pertinent to it:wiki? Shalom, Monozigote! It's great to hear from you! First of all, yes, I am very proud to be a Toledano. I like to think that having this name puts an added weight of responsibility on my shoulders. Second of all, in regards to the book which I mentioned (Ot me-Avshalom), I read it back in 2010. My late grandma Z"L recommended it to me. My grandma belonged to a family with roots which go all the way to the founders of the small Israeli town of Zichron Yaakov, where the Nili spy ring was based. She lived there her entire life. And when I read it, back then, I remember that it was one of the most wonderful reading experiences which I ever had. This weekend, I thought a lot about my late grandma Z"L and decided that writing these wikis would be a kind of present which I could dedicate to her. Since you're my favourite Italian Wikipedian, I thought you might also be interested. Third, I recently saw a 60-Minutes report on us Wikipedians and discovered that they hold Wikimania conventions each year somewhere in the world. After I realized that I had missed the one this year, I discovered that next year (2016) it will be held in Esino Lario, Italy and I wondered if you're planning to go. Sounds good. I have similar emotions when I read a good book, that opens my imagination to past memories and great deeds. It reminds me of a book a read recently, by Sasha Abramsky, The House of Twenty Thousand Books, a grandson's elegy for the vanished world of his grandparents's house in London and the exhuberant, passionate jostling of traditions. I really enjoyed it, and can thus understand your experience about Ot me-Avshalom --- I'll certainly find time to translate it on it:wiki. I don't know if I'll be able to attend the Wikimania meeting in Italy: I live in North Scotland and don't return to Italy very often, although I still have many relatives there.
