October 2015 edit

Hello, I'm Theroadislong. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Weston College, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Speedy deletion declined: Léon Choubrac edit

Hello Officialjjones, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Léon Choubrac, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article is in English, or does not exist at a foreign project. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. — Earwig talk 02:49, 4 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Jordan Jones edit

You don't move articles out of article space. That is the same as deleting. If you have problems with it, fix it. If you want it deleted, go thru the proper channels. Bgwhite (talk) 06:14, 4 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

article entitled Gul Agha Ishakzai edit

Hello again Officialjjones,

I've added more information to the article now, although I see you have added an edit summary indicating the reason for nominating the article for deletion is different than the reason provided initially, as you now might gather, I'd like to know the reason, if you don't mind. Thanks Antrangelos (talk) 14:24, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Peter Hurley (photographer) edit

A tag has been placed on Peter Hurley (photographer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Eesean Bolden Page Error From Elliot John Gleave's Page edit

Hello, yes I made an error creating this page as a duplicate. Could we delete it so I can start over again to create 'Eesean Bolden's' page as a new and unrelated page? Thanks.

Already put it up for speedy as an error. Meters (talk) 06:09, 12 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Kittens and Don Bestor article edit

Thanks for your message. I like the picture of the kitten. I also appreciate your kind words about the Don Bestor article and my other efforts.

I enjoy contributing to Wikipedia, both by creating new articles and by enhancing existing articles. As you can see, most of my efforts relate to old-time radio -- a topic to which few people seem to be contributing these days.

Thanks, too, for patrolling the Bestor article. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:41, 30 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Applied Biomathematics citations needed edit

Thanks for adding the {refimprove} notice to Applied Biomathematics in November. I have added several in-line citations. Do you think it meets your challenge?

Scwarebang (talk) 23:48, 20 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

After a comment period of several months, no one has objected to or described the incompleteness of the corrections outlined here and on the article's Talk page, so I am now removing the {refimprove} notice.

Backlog edit

The NPP backlog now stands at 13,158 total unreviewed pages.

Just to recap:

  • 13 July 2016: 7,000
  • 1 August 2016: 9,000
  • 7 August 2016: 10,472
  • 16 August 2016: 11,500
  • 28 August 2016: 13,158

You naturally don't have to feel obliged, but if there's anything you can do it would be most appreciated. I've spent 40 hours on it this week but it's only a drop in the ocean.--Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:20, 28 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

New deal for page patrollers edit

Hi Officialjjones,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Strobar edit

Hello, Officialjjones. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Strobar".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 00:09, 26 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Kodydavies.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Kodydavies.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disambiguation link notification for September 25 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kody Davies, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Newport (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:17, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Kody Davies edit

The article Kody Davies has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable boxer does not meet WP:NBOX

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
