User:NoSeptember/watchedUsers (Zscout370) edit

By doing a "What links here" on my user page, I noticed my name is on this list. I was wondering why you have me watched. Zach (Sound Off) 23:29, 11 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Fixes (talk page footer - Prodego) edit

I tried to fix your talk page by using a hack by Interiot to keep your image at the bottom of the page, let me know if you like it. Happy editing! Prodego talk 15:36, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'll try it for a while, though it doesn't seem to work right all the time. NoSeptember talk 15:46, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think it's the break lines causing the problem, look now. Prodego talk 15:52, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
It works for me now. Prodego talk 15:58, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
It fails in IE though. Prodego talk 16:02, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your banner (TantalumTelluride, Moe Epsilon) edit

I'm trying something to keep your banner at the bottom of your talk page. If you don't like it, you can revert my changes. --TantalumTelluride 23:54, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Prodego tried to do that too, unsuccessfully (you can see what he tried, it's in the history (April 23rd)). Let's see if your method works :-). NoSeptember talk 23:59, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Is it just me or is everything on my screen look aligned to the right? The King of Kings 00:10, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I see that too, the left justified TOC spacing carries the whole way down when it's done this way. Same problem, one of them, that we had in April. NoSeptember talk 00:13, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Mind if I try to take a crack at fixing it? The King of Kings 00:15, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I didn't think about previewing in IE. --TantalumTelluride 00:22, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Footer (GeorgeMoney) edit

I have finally fixed the footer to not fly off the page. I tested it many times. For an example, see User talk:GeorgeMoney/sandbox --GeorgeMoney T·C 18:22, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:NoSeptember/ANI (GeorgeMoney) edit

I used to have a page exactly like that, but people got mad at me and de-transcluded the pages. Just a heads up. --GeorgeMoney (talk) (Help Me Improve!) 21:49, 29 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's no big deal. If people don't like it I'll change it to something else. I just use it to have the TOC above the header. NoSeptember 22:03, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, what you could do is wrap a <div id="ANIheader"></div> around the header so you can hide it in your css file so then the toc will not be under the header. --GeorgeMoney (talk) (Help Me Improve!) 22:09, 29 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I make it a point not to modify project space pages for my use, plus I like to navigate WP without using any sort of user css file (the old fashioned way ;). NoSeptember 22:21, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

I uploaded the banner of "wikipedia better than any book" to match your colors, but there was a loss in quality. If you don't like the new one, feel free to revert :) GeorgeMoney (talk) (Help Me Improve!) 17:36, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Admin project edit

I made a change to User:NoSeptember/Admin stats by making the little things that say other pages look like the real subpage thingy, and I was wondering if it would be ok with you if i did that to all the admin project pages. Also i was wondering if you approved, that i should wrap <div id="contentSub"> around the links. The good thing about that is if people style the little subpage navigation thing in their css, it would do the same to that. The bad thing is if they make a #contentSub { display: none }, then the fake one wouldn't show either. We could copy the css from the http://en.wikipedia.org/skins-1.5/monobook/main.css , but the problem then would be if they change skins, or they want to style it, it wouldn't work change with their styling needs. What do you think? GeorgeMoney (talk) 14:17, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Or maybe we could do a <div id="contentSub" style="display: block !important;">, so the !important would override all css (because ususally css overrides html) unless they have a !important in their css too. GeorgeMoney (talk)
I like the look of it. Go ahead as you think best on the other pages. I'm not concerned if a few people can't see it because of their personal settings. The links are just there to encourage people to look around at my various subpages, and to help me navigate. NoSeptember 14:29, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Your wikibreak thingamajig edit

I saw your little test and thought that maybe you can add "If you are using [[WP:POP|popups]], just follow this link to auto-revert to NoSeptember's version: [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:NoSeptember&action=edit&autoclick=wpSave&autosummary=Revert%20to%20version%20by%20NoSeptemberusing%20%5B%5B%3Aen%3AWikipedia%3ATools%2FNavigation_popups%7Cpopups%5D%5D&autorv=68045843&oldid=68045843 link]" to the wikibreak template. (and that explains my little revert earlier because I was testing popup syntax) GeorgeMoney (talk) 20:36, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't really have to be reverted to my "last" version. I could just pick a version and say "revert to this version". NoSeptember 20:45, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I never said "last version", I said "version". Reverting to your last version is much more complicated and would require a special rollback tool... etc. It just reverts to reversion 12345 using popups but with a different edit summary than the normal popup one. GeorgeMoney (talk) 20:49, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Is the change I made to the page acceptable to you? NoSeptember 21:02, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Yep, looks great. GeorgeMoney (talk) 21:10, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Script for wikibreak edit

To make it easier for you to go directly to the talkpage history, I made a script for it to automatically redirect your talkpage to the history page. If you don't want it to redirect just add &c (or if the url is /wiki/something, "?c" ) to the url and it will automatically cancel the redirect. Also, another way to cancel the redirect is if you press the "discussion" tab and it will cancel it. Also, diffs and stuff don't redirect. I understand if you don't want the script, and that's fine :). It is:

var NoSeptTitle = "User talk:NoSeptember";
var isNoSept = (document.title.substr(0, document.title.lastIndexOf(" - ")) == NoSeptTitle);
var isSpec = (document.location.search && (document.location.search.indexOf("diff=") != -1 || document.location.search.indexOf("oldid=") != -1 || document.location.search.indexOf("action=") != -1 || document.location.search.indexOf("cancel") != -1 || document.location.search.indexOf("c") != -1));

if (isNoSept && !isSpec)
{
document.write('<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:NoSeptember&action=history">');

}

function NoSeptRedir()
{
       if ((isNoSept || /[\/=:]User_talk:NoSeptember*/.test(document.location)) && document.getElementById('ca-talk'))
       document.getElementById('ca-talk').firstChild.href = '/wiki/User_talk:NoSeptember?c';

}

var onloadFuncts = [ NoSeptRedir ];

.

GeorgeMoney (talk) 22:53, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I still edit without scripts :o. The link for the revert is for other people to use mostly, I do it the old fashioned way ;). I even create pages like this one, so I can go directly to the history of some big pages and avoid loading the whole page. NoSeptember 23:16, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
I have a script that makes the search box more direct and if you type joe&action=history it takes you there. Normally the search box url-encodes the "&". Or you can click the history from a button. Just see http://wikipedia.georgemoney.com/search2.php . GeorgeMoney (talk) 08:15, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
That's a very nice tool. I'll definitely use it. NoSeptember 17:46, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Footer (GeorgeMoney) edit

I am pretty sure that there is a way for people with popups (or lupin's autoedit JS) to automatically move the footer to the bottom using regex. I might have to ask lupin for the syntax.

And, using that syntax, I could make it easy to auto-archive my talkpage at a click of a button (I already have the parserfunctions set to auto-list the archive if it exists).

I don't know why (or how) you edit the "old fashion way", because it is not good for you and you might get a cold. Can you pleasssssseeeeeeeeee try non-old fashion out? just for once?

GeorgeMoney (talk) 16:39, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I used monobook for a day or two months ago (User:NoSeptember/monobook.js) but found it annoying and it slowed my system down. I mostly write paragraphs and add data to tables, so I don't really see a need for lots of extra functionality. Don't you ever feel that you spend a lot of time writing little programs to do tasks that would take less time to just do manually? It's worth it if you want to learn to become a better programmer, perhaps that's why you do it, but for me, I have little interest in learning that stuff. NoSeptember 16:52, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, you don't have to use JS, but css is good too and it doesn't slow anything down. And, yeah, I do spend more time to write stuff than it would to just do it, but it is usually repettitive tasks that are really annoying to do by hand. And also, maybe you just need a better browser? NoSeptember is back from Wikibreak edit

NoSeptember is back (from my Wikibreak)

I will restore my talk page shortly. For those who used this page during my wikibreak, what did you think of the messaging system? I think it may have potential even when I'm not on wikibreak.

User:NoSeptember/wikibreak was transcluded onto this page during my Wikibreak. NoSeptember 01:34, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Welcome back! edit

Welcome back! And, about the messaging system..... I don't think it is a good idea because a)if people want to discuss on a discussion, they will have to find the appropriate discussion in the history, reply, and revert themselves. b) if people want to read stuff, it would be hard too. Maybe a "central archive" would be better than having people search through history. GeorgeMoney (talk) 01:42, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the welcome :). I'll wait for more feedback and think about the messaging system. NoSeptember 01:59, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Admin Project (<div id="contentSub">) edit

I just saw you editing all the pages of the admin project adding the stuff I was supposed to do and I want to say I am sorry I forgot. I was going to do it and I guess I got caught up with something else. If there are any more pages needing me to add the <div id="contentSub"> then i'll be glad to do it. GeorgeMoney (talk) 03:30, 28 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

You don't have to do that. Just showing me how to do it was enough. It was on my list of things to do, and I finally got around to it. I learn all the formating tricks here at WP by copying what others have done :). NoSeptember 10:28, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
