Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Tulsa Zoo may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. Tulsa Zoo edit

Thank you for the note on my talk page regarding the Tulsa Zoo, and thank you also for so many of the edits you've made to that article. It's clear that you are a supporter of the Zoo, and from what I've read about it, you have much to be proud of.

Please don't infer that my re-write of the section in question was in any way done with with malice. My concern was that what you had added sounded very much like an advertisement. The original text read: "A seasonal exhibit full of prehistoric pre portions awaits visitors summer 2014. Running from May 3 to Oct. 31st visitors can get up close to many different species of Dinosaurs. From a 40ft long Tyrannosaurus Rex to Parasaurolophus hatchlings. This unique exhibit will take guests back in time to witness realistic animatronic dinosaurs once again come back to life."

What makes Wikipedia such an amazing storehouse of knowledge, is that it has strict policies requiring that what gets added to Wiki remains neutral and verifiable.

It's hard not to get excited about great things. In fact, when I created the article Moniker Guitars, the article's reviewer added this tag: "the neutrality of this article is disputed". I wrote back and told the reviewer that in all my research, I could find not one negative comment written about that company. To answer your question, what you had written sounded as if it was added by the zoo's marketing department, and it was obvious to readers. Once readers begin to question the neutrality of Wikipedia, then the validity of the information within the articles becomes dubious.

I know that what I wrote isn't much fun, but it's much more encyclopedic and believable, and has no puffery. And while this may not necessarily attract more visitors to this amazing zoo, it's good for Wikipedia. Thank you again for writing, and for your great contributions to this article. (And feel free to tear my edit to pieces; I don't own Wikipedia). Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:51, 6 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • On a related note, I removed the sea lion photo you added to Tulsa, Oklahoma article.[1] That is a featured article and all the photos depict Tulsa icons or other images that are identifiably special to Tulsa. I felt that a generic photo of a sea lion's head, without any visual content connecting the image to Tulsa, looked like the sort of thing you might find in a tourist brochure, but not what you'd like to see in an article that is supposed to reflect Wikipedia's highest encyclopedic standards. A different high-quality image, reflecting something identifiably specific to the Tulsa zoo, might make a positive addition. I'll echo Magnolia677's comments and thank you for your fine efforts here. Tulsa Zoo history edit

Thanks for your excellent summary of the zoo's history. Do you have a reliable source to add? I could help you format the source if you're uncertain how to do it. Thanks! Magnolia677 (talk) 23:06, 15 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
