Stub tags and BLP refimprove edit

Hallo, in this edit you added {{stub}} to an article which already included {{Brazil-footy-bio-stub}}: please take care not to waste other editors' time in this way (editors who stub-sort will find it in Category:Stubs, which should only contain stubs waiting to be sorted, and waste time looking at it). Thanks.

You also added {{refimprove}}: there is a more precise template{{BLP sources}} to use when an article about a living person needs better references.

There's a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia but it's an interesting journey - Happy Editing! PamD 10:49, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

COI? edit

I see no reason to add a COI tag to Natain. You could usefully have added {{dead end}}, though I've improved the article so it's no longer true. Yes, the editor probably lives there, but we're not going to exclude all editors from writing about their home town. (And this one was written in quite neutral language, unlike some of the publicity-brochure-type stuff in some village articles, telling us about the beautiful scenery and enterprising nature of the inhabitants!) @PamD: hello pamD,as you may already know yesterday only started patrolling new pages so i am a newbie when it comes to patrolling . i am really sorry about the sub and col tag. i did spend some time reading patrolling page starter guide and i am trying my best to help wikipedia and the community.thank you so much for your help and if you find any more mistakes please let me know ..thank you :) Nicky mathew (talk) 11:43, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

There is existence of Tipu missile edit

it was doubtful but now due to some reference from Pakistani defense forum it has been proved that there is a missile named Tipu in Pakistan which has a range of >7500 km Mustafa Ispahani (talk) 14:19, 1 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Mustafa Ispahani: defence forum are not considered as a reliable source and the the video you added as the reference is shaheen not tipu.there is no official govt confirmation about such a missile and you edits seems like you are trying to promote pakistan's ballistic missile program. as of 2015 pakistan do not have any ballistic ICBM missile with MARVs.Nicky mathew (talk) 14:29, 1 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Regarding edit disputes edit

@M.srihari: i already told you i cannot speak for other editors, no one person cannot edit or let his or her interest dominate wikipedia, Antiochus the Great and Nick Thorne got involved without my knowledge and i asked Bilcat and JAaron95 to take a look at your contribution and as i do not deal with vandalism and edit disputes much, i never told them what is my idea or anything they looked at your contribution and saw Disruptive editing. you have some kind of Conflict of interest when it comes to indian navy, inflating numbers without proper confirmation, changing major dates of launch without citation and consensus, edit warring etc so editors took notice of your edits.Nicky mathew (talk) 18:50, 11 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

@M.srihari: first of all i do not have to explain my discussion or talks to anyone, most wikipedians usually wont answer to Disruptive editors like you this long so this will be my last reply to you in my talk page.so lets start, I posted funny because usually vandalism and normal Disruptive editing wont last more than a day, in your case it was beyond that and started battle based on speculations in different pages to promote your interest. and 3rr is a rule which should not be broken in a edit war, i was just reminding him that.i posted "hello talk is still going on" because he was already involved so i was just letting him know.Nicky mathew (talk) 19:27, 11 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Ad Majesty edit

Hello Nicky!

I am writing about one of the most influential advertising and disign agencies in Lithuania at the moment - Ad Majesty. I understand your reason, why you want to delete this article, because at first it looks simply, without a lot of information, but that was just a draft. Today I am going to add much more information about it. This agency must have an article, because they have a lot of clients and their official web page does not give an information about it's history or even what Ad Majesty means in lithuanian language. I know I am fresh in wikipedia and I am very sorry to make this mistake, but I am sure that this agency must have an article.

With best regards, Gintare --PeckyteG (talk) 09:28, 21 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

marcos edit

@Nicky mathew - 1)Your edit on MARCOS india page, is incorrect. Whatever sources you have used to mention that "6000 marcos are operating and 1000 are on reserve" , i would appreciate you to mention that source on the page, and if it all it is true i suggest you keep it to yourself because neither has the Indian Navy nor the Indian Defence ministry ever released the number of Marcos. Please do not challenge the secrecy of the unit. People who have enough evidence to suggest that marcos are secretive, will understand that your mentioning of their strength and will find it irrelevant. 2) The picture of a man on-board a ship in black overalls with his face shown is DEFINITELY not Marco, please remove that photo and do not reassign it if anybody removes it. That man is part of Indian Navy infantry. Check the photo again and other photos of Marcos, you will not find Marcos in balck overalls looking like that, its actually a disgrace for this elite unit if such irrelevant pictures are put up. 3) Editing certain repeated words and sentences should be allowed in that page. It is everybody's page. Anybody can provide accurate information. The number 0.27 sec for reaction is again an invalid edit. Please remove it and use simple words to suggest their capability neither one of us are in marcos and it is highly unlikely that you have visited INS abhimanyu to have a look.--Sidharth94 (talk) 13:12, 22 May 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sidharth94 (talkcontribs) 13:05, 22 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

EMALS Metric/Imperial edit

Nicky,

Do not say that the imperial measurements I put in have no reference. Switch the metric to the Imperial yourself and you will see that I kept the data the same as it was in the metric numbers, but put it into Imperial as it should be for an American military system.

Indian Navy Ship class template edit

There are some issues in the template I have mentioned above. Makar class is mentioned as patrol boat but in the future of Navy section, as survey vessel. And also, several sections are not covered. I request your help in improving it.M.srihari (talk) 00:56, 2 June 2015 (UTC)SrihariReply

@M.srihari: In the template, Makar class is classified as Patrol craft based on size of ship. markar is a 500 tons ship with limited search and rescue missions capable so boardly it can be classified as patrol craft but a much more better option is to use Survey vessel based on its role. I made some addition to that template and moved makar from Patrol craft to Research and survey vessels (new head). thank you for bringing this to my attention.bye Nicky mathew (talk) 12:30, 2 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Indian Space Shuttle Programme edit

I request you to review the above said page. Here I attach a link regarding it http://www.ndtv.com/india-news/soon-india-to-have-its-own-space-shuttle-463421. And also please see this the page RLV TD. As far as I checked, The Media reports the RLV-TD as Indian Space shuttle which is a predecessor to the futuristic Avatar (spacecraft). I think that the Indian Space Shuttle page is an unnecessary addition and might confuse the readers. I request you to verify it and take action if deemed necessary(As I am new, I don't know these procedures.)M.srihari (talk) 16:25, 7 June 2015 (UTC)SrihariReply

@M.srihari: Sorry srihari, I do not edit space related pages much, my edits in space related pages are mostly limited to basic maintenance, repair and some satellites.Bye Nicky mathew (talk) 19:16, 7 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Nicky mathew waiting for your response to restore the page. Naveennairp (talk) 11:44, 22 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Naveennairp: Dil Se Education is not a notable organisation to have a Wikipedia page of its own hence deleted was under A7. also your article seemed more or less like an advertisement for the organisation. Wikipedia also has rules and regulations just like any other organisation. Wikipedia have strict policy regarding promotional and autobiographical article. I am assuming you are either a member or volunteer for this organisation and I understand your organisations concerns but Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a management wedsite or facebook page which can be used as a promotional tool under G11. thank you. Education in discrimination edit

Nicky, it is not only a group of international students in Norway who believe what is going on is "discrimination". At least one national anti-discrimination organization (LDO) and many academic organizations confirmed/protested that. Would you please engage in article entry and see the documentation? You may or you may not edit

Hello Nicky, in the tag for the article Hamideh Kaffash it reads "You may remove this message if you improve the article or otherwise object to deletion for any reason." and I think I significantly improved the references to notability. But you undid this saying that "Until investigation reaches a conclusion users cannot make personal claims based removal of deletion tag". Could you elaborate on the contradiction? Thanks Sedai2014 (talk) 15:54, 28 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

CMS College Kottayam edit

Your edit on the article, not to revert it but just to clarify. The template was created to compile the influence of Christianity in Kerala, historical and current. CMS College Kottayam was established by CMS Society, a christian organization and is still managed by a Christian organization. Trust that justifies the template. Aircraft carrier - Egypt edit

In case you didn't notice, The Mistral-class ship is an amphibious assault ship and a helicopter carrier which is a type of aircraft carrier. You can also find it in France's section on that page. -AHMED XIV (talk) 15:37, 12 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

@AHMED XIV: Helicopter carrier or amphibious assault ship or Landing helicopter dock and aircraft carriers are very different ships . we only classify a ship aircraft carrier if it operate or plans to operate fighter aircrafts like f35 or harriers or mig 29k not only helicopters and used for offense strike .Helicopter carrier or amphibious assault ship only operate helicopters and used for troop transport and helicopter transport, attack, anti submarine warfare and for humanitarian assistance etc will not carry fighter aircrafts like f35 or harriers or mig 29k . Helicopter carrier or amphibious assault ship to become an aircraft carrier they make make a lot of modification to existing compartments to include additional fuel and special armament rooms for storage for including fighter aircrafts ,additional defense systems ,arresting wires, ski jump or catapult etc list goes on and on... countries like Australia, japan, south korea have plans to operate f35 aircraft carrier variant hence included here.anyway this article is broad enough to include Mistral-class amphibious assault ship as said by bilcat.Nicky mathew (talk) 20:52, 12 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Excuse me, but when you say; "we only classify a ship aircraft carrier if it operate or plans to operate fighter aircrafts like f35 or harriers or mig 29k not only helicopters and used for offense strike ." - who is the "we" that you are referring to in that sentence? - theWOLFchild 16:25, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Well, An Aircraft carrier is a warship that serves as a seagoing airbase, equipped with a full-length flight deck and facilities for carrying, arming, deploying, and recovering either fixed wing aircraft or rotary wing aircraft. Even if it only operates rotary wing aircraft, it is still considered an aircraft carrier that can be used for troop transport, helicopter transport, attack and anti submarine warfare as you mentioned above. This "Aircraft carrier" term includes all kinds of aircraft, thus it is obvious to add a helicopter carrier in an article like that. If you only want to add fixed wing aircraft carriers then you should change the content of the whole article and the title as well, though I don't know what you will name it may be "Jets Carrier" or "Fixed wing aircraft carriers", I don't know. -AHMED XIV (talk) 00:04, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Aircraft Carrier edit

Hi, I saw some of your edits to the Aircraft Carrier page and thought I would pass on some friendly advice. Before you make anymore bold changes, unilaterally deciding what does and does not belong, I suggest you take a look through the talk page, specifically archives #5 & #6. You are new here, having only joined this year, so one wouldn't expect you to be versed in the article's history, but you should know that back in 2013, there was a lengthy discussion (and debate) involving multiple editors. After some time, there was a clear consensus on what types of ships would be included in the article. Instead of limiting the context to only the "traditional" aircraft carrier, those being ships designed to carry multiple squadrons of fixed-wing aircraft, it was decided that all big deck ships would be included, such as (for example), helicopter carriers and amphibious assault ships. There was extensive and multiple re-writes made to the page to accommodate this new consensus. As such, no single editor can now just simply come along and remove content because "they don't feel it belongs". Please keep that in mind when making future edits. Cheers. - theWOLFchild 16:20, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
