Template:Skywalker family tree

From Rey and Kylo Ren discussion from @Arabela13: StarWars.com listed the pair as a romantic couple in their 2021 Valentine's Day quiz (it literally says Rey and Ben; all other couples included in it are canon ones too, like this one is), Rian Johnson and J. J. Abrams outright confirming it as well. Supreme Leader Snoke was also revealed to be a failed Palpatine clone like Rey's father fifteen days ago: "Destiny, and the Contingency, would catch up to Rey in the form of the First Order, led by one of Palpatine’s evil duplicates called Snoke." Here are the references to back this up. 103.18.56.56 (talk) 00:36, 19 August 2021 (UTC) [1][2][3][4]Reply

Romantic relationships are not marital nor familial relationships. Therefore, a romantic relationship is out-of-place on a family tree.

So we disagree, that is a place to start from. Marriage is not necessary for inclusion on a family tree, we both know that.
Regardless, I concede for now; it was an end of life significant relationship; I will put it in the notes for now. 103.18.56.56 (talk) 00:47, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

You are correct that marriage is not necessary for inclusion on a family tree, but that would either necessitate some other familial relationship (like parents or adoptive parents) or a relationship that could be argued to be close enough to family. Dating someone for a short period of time, kissing once, and then one of the two dying is a weak argument to be considered family.

The term "bound together" seems like it would mean close enough. They share a deep personal bond over their lives which they are made aware of for the course of a year, with rising tension throughout the middle of The Force Awakens, the entirety of The Last Jedi, and the tail end of The Rise of Skywalker culminating into physical expression of romance. 103.18.56.56 (talk) 01:01, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Many characters in Star Wars are bound together in canon. Yoda and Dooku have a bond that plays a part in an episode of TCWAS. Ezra and Maul have a type of bond in Rebels, and there are others (more notably in legends, though). Force Bonds are not marital or familial in nature (though they can be romantic).
