User talk page edit

Thank you for your effort, but there is no need to remove items from other users on my talk page. ElENdElA (talk) 13:21, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good. Reverting talk page vandalism is pretty typical, but I'll make sure to leave it to you next time, if that's what you prefer. Thanks,NeuropolTalk 13:23, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism info edit

Thanks for the continued updates, however Enterpriseybot is working as intended again. We do not need to manually update for the time being. Jalen Folf (Bark[s]) 14:39, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thank you for the notice. I have (for the most part) ceased in favor of the bot. Thanks,NeuropolTalk 14:54, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Using ribbon templates edit

"This message was prepared using machine translation. It may contain poor grammar and some incorrect structures."

Hello to you!

I am Ali. From Persian Wikipedia. Last month you posted a message on my talk page about using, editing and re-adapting the ribbons I created.

First, I apologize for the delay in replying. I just saw your message tonight...

Thank you for making this request and I consider it as respect...

Everything I have done on Wikipedia up to this point has been in accordance with the guidelines and terms of open access of that foundation. And you are also free to "edit freely" and "be bold" according to the same rules!

I also saw the ribbons you created and enjoyed them, your activity deserves recognition and you can definitely "act more freely" in your "creativity". I will use those ribbons too...

Thank you very much for your participation in spreading science and supporting activists in this field

Good luck always! Ali.arabi.moghadam (talk) 21:08, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please Ask me information Shiekh ishaaq is not arab , we correcting the information please if you need justification Ask me, before you change 197.231.201.171 (talk) 13:35, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I did prompt you to discuss these changes, so we could accurately reach a resolution. It seems in your edits, you added a misspelling of Eidagale, changed the name of the user, and made other lede changes. An explanation of these changes would be helpful. Thanks,NeuropolTalk 13:38, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
No problem, please, and please, we are correcting the origon of Shiekh Ishaaq. Its origin is Shiekh Ishaaq bin Ahmed bin Muhammad Hanfitre Maha Dir, and it is the second son of Dir (Abokor). Please ask me for justification before you change. I am not removing any information, only correcting the information. Go to this website called Abtirisi.com link (http://www.abtirsi.com/view.php?person=158) and see the information, or search Google. Please, we need to correct the information soon. 197.231.201.171 (talk) 13:51, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@197.231.201.171 Hi, I'm notifying you of my intent to seek someone more experienced than I am on the current matter. I hope this is agreeable to you. Thanks,NeuropolTalk 14:11, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello, @197.231.201.171, @Neuropol does not need to ask you before changing the article as you do not have ownership over the article. Wikipedia is free to edit by anyone. As well, who is "we". Do you possibly have a conflict of interest to the article in question? Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 14:16, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, I'm updating information on Wikipedia instead of removing any of it. This is untrue information regarding the Shiekh Ishaaq family. Asking me for details or explanations regarding the Shiekh Ishaaq family would be greatly appreciated. edit

your reverting of my edits edit

Wikipedia policy states that unsourced material be removed, I have restored my edits... which WERE adequately described "rm uncourced" is the standard edit summary for this. Citations are needed before this content may be restored 204.78.11.9 (talk) 13:56, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, if you view visual diffs, you can find sourced content which was removed. Furthermore, your edits added blank spaces and patent nonsense such as "T". If you'd like to remove unsourced information, you are free to do so, however, please ensure all information removed is unsourced, and do not add patent nonsense. Also, it may be more beneficial to find sources instead of flat-out removing content. Thanks,NeuropolTalk 13:58, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
the "T" was done in error.. and when it comes finding sources instead of to flat out removing content, Tell that to User:Waxworker he's been arbitrarily removing content I've added many times. 204.78.11.9 (talk) 14:05, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please ensure that all content you remove is unsourced. Thanks,NeuropolTalk 14:07, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Whatever happened to Assume good faith? T1980 (talk) 14:12, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
What about WP:AGF? I never made any claim of bad faith, but sourced content was removed, and that was a necessary revision. Thanks,NeuropolTalk 14:14, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Templating the regulars edit

I take issue with that and it's considered rude, especially for someone who has been on here for 19 years T1980 (talk) 14:08, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm not sure where you got the idea that I didn't like being templated, as I specified at the top of this page that I am indifferent to it. Furthermore, I can not find a single time of which I added a message to your user page, so this is odd for me to receive.
Did you mean to send this to someone else? Thanks,NeuropolTalk 14:10, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
No. You templated me when I removed the unsourced content on Paperboy (video game) you reverted it twice, when I made the edits from a public computer... Decided to do it again while logged in so you'd know I am an established (albeit semi-retired) user. T1980 (talk) 14:15, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
So, you found it disrespectful that I was unaware a specific IP was a logged-out regular? Thanks,NeuropolTalk 14:16, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
no. I just thought that making the edits while logged in would have a little more clout. T1980 (talk) 14:17, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
You do not receive any "clout" on Wikipedia. Unconstructive edits by established and unestablished editors will be reverted. I am happy to discuss the nature of the edits. However, I will not be considering your status on Wikipedia when reviewing edits, as this violates civility guidelines. Thanks,NeuropolTalk 14:19, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Since we're doing unsolicited advice edit

You're definitely coming off as a bit of a jerk on CL's talk page. Also, apologies that start out "so if..." aren't really apologies. Floquenbeam (talk) 15:04, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
My intention in establishing communication with this user had been simply to notify them over their inconsistent warning patterns, as I noticed a user with a prior reverted edit and no warning from them, and a small pattern of such.
Upon the user's reaction, which certainly exhibited an observably provocative tone, including an unrelated, uncivil remark about my user page ("...like some assistant-under-acting-vice-deputy banana republic general"), I was certainly surprised, but my succeeding action was intended to close my statement (simply make a suggestion), and to ease the tone by 1. acknowledging the humor of their insult, and 2. apologizing for any misinterpreted tone. If anything I said did not come off in a negative tone, then there is nothing to apologize for, which is why I included the word if.
I do not believe in "unsolicited advice" here. Like any other user who intentionally or unintentionally, may need a "push in the right direction" (i.e. a lighthearted and explanatory notice about warnings), experienced or otherwise, I sent this user a notice, and decided to hand-type a message instead of using a template per WP:DTTR. When the user rejected my advice, I used that response in order to clear up any miscommunication in my tone, and to digress. My intention is not to be aggressive or authoritative, and I welcome your input, and will further review what alternative actions or phrases I could have constructed in order to prevent a similar issue.
Thank you for your notice, and I appreciate any further input, questions, or concerns you may have, for the purpose of improvement. Thanks,NeuropolTalk 15:21, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
This response feels eerily ChatGPTish? But, anyway, OK. You were unsuccessful in what you were trying to do, and if your takeaway here is that their response was the one that was provocative, I don't have the patience to help you more. If you were open to an outside opinion, I provided one. If you're not, then I'll keep this short. See Teaching grandmother to suck eggs. --Floquenbeam (talk) 15:41, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
