Bonjour,

Je mets à jour la page Wiki de mon ami et homonyme Gérard Aubry : fr:Gérard Aubry (botelliste) ;
Nous avons suivi la procedure lourde pour creation d'autorisation OTRS à l'ouverture de la page Wiki.

Aujourd'hui, l'auteur voudrait proposer d'autres images.

Talk to me in EN, FR, PL, GSW-FR(ALS). 12:22, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – January 2020

News and updates for administrators from the past month (December 2019).

  Guideline and policy news

  Arbitration

  • The fourth case on Palestine-Israel articles was closed. The case consolidated all previous remedies under one heading, which should make them easier to understand, apply, and enforce. In particular, the distinction between "primary articles" and "related content" has been clarified, with the former being the entire set of articles whose topic relates to the Arab-Israeli conflict, broadly interpreted rather than reasonably construed.
  • Following the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections, the following editors have been appointed to the Arbitration Committee: Beeblebrox, Bradv, Casliber, David Fuchs, DGG, KrakatoaKatie, Maxim, Newyorkbrad, SoWhy, Worm That Turned, Xeno.

Dear Nat

I understand that Chuan Zhi has emailed Wikimedia Commons to confirm copyright release or similar for the following images:

I understand that this may not be sufficient because his email address cannot be verified?

I am sure if you, or someone, email, him, he will be happy to provide evidence of his identity. I would much rather this than have to contact him again myself as a go-between. Brofitable (talk) 13:40, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – February 2020

News and updates for administrators from the past month (January 2020).

  Guideline and policy news

  • Following a request for comment, partial blocks are now enabled on the English Wikipedia. This functionality allows administrators to block users from editing specific pages or namespaces rather than the entire site. A draft policy is being workshopped at Wikipedia:Partial blocks.
  • The request for comment seeking the community's sentiment for a binding desysop procedure closed with wide-spread support for an alternative desysoping procedure based on community input. No proposed process received consensus.

  Technical news

  • Twinkle now supports partial blocking. There is a small checkbox that toggles the "partial" status for both blocks and templating. There is currently one template: {{uw-pblock}}.
  • When trying to move a page, if the target title already exists then a warning message is shown. The warning message will now include a link to the target title. [1]

  Arbitration

  • Following a recent arbitration case, the Arbitration Committee reminded administrators that checkuser and oversight blocks must not be reversed or modified without prior consultation with the checkuser or oversighter who placed the block, the respective functionary team, or the Arbitration Committee.

Source of File:Andrea Nurcis-2.jpg and File:Enrico Corte.jpg.

Hello Nat, I read your question about the source of the images named File:Andrea Nurcis-2.jpg and File:Enrico Corte.jpg. In date 2020-02-15 the photographer and copyright holder Francesca Manca di Villahermosa (francescamancadiv@alice.it) sent her content permission for both images, under the license Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International as indicated in the specific Wikimedia template, to the following addresses: permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, permissions-eng@wikimedia.org, photosubmission@wikimedia.org.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Source of files: Andrea Nurcis-2.jpg and Enrico Corte.jpg

Hello Nat, it's Silloge again. About the source of the files: Andrea Nurcis-2.jpg and Enrico Corte.jpg: the source of both photos is the photographer's website: https://www.behance.net/gallery/92350029/Andrea-Nurcis-and-Enrico-Corte-for-their-wikipedia-page, where it is specified that the two photographic portraits of the artists are for their Wikipedia pages.

In date 2020-02-15 the photographer and copyright holder Francesca Manca di Villahermosa also sent her content permission under the license "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International" to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, permissions-en@wikimedia.org and photosubmission@wikimedia.org.

I added these info to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Enrico_Corte.jpg and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Andrea_Nurcis-2.jpeg, in their corresponding "source" sections.

I remain at your disposal for any further information you might require. Thank you again for your time and consideration. Regards,

Philippine Bank of Communications

Hi Sir,

Good day! I would like to ask for your help on how our edits in Philippine Bank of Communications page be appropriate for Wikipedia terms and condition. I only add what was written in our website www.pbcom.com.ph. Apologies for edits, I keeps on deleting and I would like to know which part of the contents tags as advertisement. Thank you--PBCOM09041939 (talk) 04:26, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

Copying and pasting from the bank's website is not advisable. Articles should written in the encyclopedic style, as this is not the personal page of the page, but an encyclopedic article. Administrators' newsletter – March 2020

News and updates for administrators from the past month (February 2020).

  Guideline and policy news

  • Following an RfC, the blocking policy was changed to state that sysops must not undo or alter CheckUser or Oversight blocks, rather than should not.
  • A request for comment confirmed that sandboxes of established but inactive editors may not be blanked due solely to inactivity.

  Technical news

  • Following a discussion, Twinkle's default CSD behavior will soon change, most likely this week. After the change, Twinkle will default to "tagging mode" if there is no CSD tag present, and default to "deletion mode" if there is a CSD tag present. You will be able to always default to "deletion mode" (the current behavior) using your Twinkle preferences.

Liang Yi Museum and Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2020 March 3

FYI: it is standard practice to deny restoration requests of copyrighted and promotional content even if copyright permission is granted because the advertising aspect has not been addressed. This museum has been trying to promote themselves on Wikipedia for years. You've just enabled them. MER-C 20:14, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAVE_Foundation

Hello Nat This Page is still up even after 30 days of the copyright infringement. Isn't a , { {copyvio-revdel} } viable. Or an revert by myself like in Wikipedia:CV says

"If you have strong reason to suspect a violation of copyright policy and some, but not all, of the content of a page appears to be a copyright infringement, then the infringing content should be removed with the source url in the edit summary if possible. Revision deletion should then be requested by placing { {copyvio-revdel} } on the article page or directly contacting an administrator on their talk page. Administrators may at their discretion unilaterally revision delete copyrighted content. A note explaining the removal may also be made on the discussion page, along with the original source, if known. { {subst:cclean|url=insert URL or description of source here (optional)} } has been created for this. If the copyright holder's permission is later obtained, the text may be restored. If all of the content of a page appears to be a copyright infringement or removing the problem text is not an option because it would render the article unreadable, check the page history; if an older non-infringing version of the page exists, you should revert the page to that version. A revert that only removes infringing material does not violate the three-revert rule."

Pieter Pourbus

Hello/bonjour,
I am not quite sure to understand the header you left in the talk page of this article.
I have done everything on my side so that Wikipedia is granted the license, forwarded the original email from the copyright holder sent to wikifoundation (where you can/will find it if needed) for that, added 3 paragraphs to the talk page to inform widely on all (including my) actions in that regard.
What is still wrong and/or missing?
Thank you in advance for your help/Merci d'avance pour votre aide,
Best regards/cordialement,
--Emigré55 (talk) 08:32, 2 May 2020 (UTC)

2 additional questions, please:
1/ who is, and where can I reach, the OTRS member in charge, then? Please give me a link to his talk page.
2/ why is the information given insufficient?
--Emigré55 (talk) 08:56, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
@Emigré55: I am not in a position to disclose either. Thank you for your understanding. --Ìch heiss Nat ùn ìch redd e wenig Elsässisch!Talk to me in EN, FR, PL, GSW-FR(ALS). 09:13, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
I really don't understand why you are "not in a position" to explain, or to direct me to the right person for that, since the label you put on the talk page says: "For an update on the issue, please contact the user (Nat) who added this template to the page,...".
Can you please explain why you don't want to give an "update" to me? have I done something wrong? is it personal?
I just try to do good, and I feel blocked now. Thank you for your understanding.
--Emigré55 (talk) 12:03, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
@Emigré55: I cannot legally share the information in a ticket due to privacy and our policy on non-public information, unless consented to by the parties in the ticket. The only update I could give is that the OTRS member handling the ticket has yet to accept the permission due to insufficient information. I cannot disclose anything beyond that. Thank you for your understanding. --Ìch heiss Nat ùn ìch redd e wenig Elsässisch!Talk to me in EN, FR, PL, GSW-FR(ALS). 16:31, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
TY for your answer, but there is something which I stil do not understand: why then is the template saying that I should ask you for "update", if it is not "legally" possible??
In addition, I am the one who opened that ticket, as you can see in all my messages on public pages. So, if needed, I give my consent to make this info public. Can you please share the info now?
If this is not enough for you, could you then simply send an email/message to the person in charge, asking that he/she contacts me? and simply then let me know that this has been done? TY in advance for letting me know that this has been done.
Regards, --Emigré55 (talk) 19:37, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
Again, the only update I can provide is that the OTRS member handling the ticket has yet to accept the permission due to insufficient information. Please do not press me again. --Ìch heiss Nat ùn ìch redd e wenig Elsässisch!Talk to me in EN, FR, PL, GSW-FR(ALS). 19:46, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
