- I don’t object to the map, as long as the caption reflects its nature. It demonstrates two things: the distribution of peoples, accurately as far as I can tell; and the historical view of East Slavic ethnicity, as sanctioned by the imperial authorities. - as sanctioned by the imperial authorities means POV. The article should describe facts. The place for imperial dreams is in All-Russian nation. A specific section may inform about Russian ideology, but I don't see it.

- The map describes facts, and the caption I edited explains its POV per WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV. If you can find a 19th-century map that reflects 21st-century academic POV, or an open-licence 21st-century map, then feel free to improve the article by swapping it in. —Michael Z. 2014-08-19 13:14 z
