Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:10, 19 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Kuay tiao

Please don't make unsourced changes to sourced content insisting the source has a typo - it's not a typo, there are multiple sources, but I only added one. What you changed it to is not a type of rice noodle, but a similar Chinese-Cambodian soup that is also made with rice noodles. Seraphim System (talk) 23:19, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Seraphim System: Alright, my bad. I am familiar with bánh phở tươi (as the kind of noodle also used in hủ tiếu soup), but it's a bit confusing for it to be equated with shahe fen via the redirect at kuay tiao. (Bánh phở might be one way to describe shahe fen, just the same way that Vietnamese speakers might call spaghetti mì Ý, or "Italian Chinese noodles".) In any case, sorry for jumping to conclusions about that source. There's a long history of Western sources (particularly dictionaries, blogs, and cookbooks) giving dubious explanations on the origins of phở, as described in Pho#Etymology and origins, so rigorous sources are much appreciated. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 23:57, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
You might be interested in commenting here as well Talk:Shahe_fen#Kway_Tiao- I think all the rice noodles are classified by whether they are flat or round, their width and whether they are dried or fresh. There doesn't seem to be any difference in how the fresh noodles are made, just what they are called.Seraphim System (talk) 00:03, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Seraphim System: Indeed, your source is right but the link redirect is misleading. Kuay tiao is a romanization of the Thai ก๋วยเตี๋ยว, and kuy teav is a romanization of the Khmer គុយទាវ. Both words refer to the same kind of noodle but may also refer to a soup. The soups they refer to may differ; I'm unsure. In Vietnamese, it's a little more complicated: hủ tiếu Mỹ Tho contains the same noodles as khuay tiao and kuy teav soup, while hủ tiếu Nam Vang (literally, "Phnom Penh kuy teav") instead contains a clear, chewy noodle called hủ tiếu dai (my favorite). Bánh phở tươi (literally, "fresh pho noodles") can refer to the former, as seen on the packaging of the popular American brand [1], but some sources like [2] distinguish between bánh hủ tiếu as a southern Vietnamese ingredient and bánh phở tươi as a northern ingredient. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 06:11, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for July 22

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited St. Xavier High School (Cincinnati), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Long Blue Line (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

a help for Coreca and his topics

Good evening from Coreca, I am writing to greet you and to know how you are and to ask you a little favor. I am a Wikipedian from Calabria, I do not speak English very well, although I have been studying it for a long time. I ask you a courtesy, could you please help me to translate the article on Coreca and its topics into Vietnamese? like Coreca Caves and Coreca Reefs? Of course I will be happy to help you in Italian and its dialects on Wikipedia. I look to you to greet you, I send a greeting from Calabria and I hope you can also help me because one of my school colleague is Vietnamese, her name is Hoài, and she is simply very nice and affectionate. I therefore hope to hear from you soon.--Luigi Salvatore Vadacchino (talk) 21:20, 10 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Mxn. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
