New England edit

Hello. I have twice now reverted your edits to the New England page, in which you insist New York is part of New England. New York is not considered to be a part of New England. Your edits have been reverted. Continued edits to the contrary will be considered and treated as vandalism. This may result in a block on your account's editing capability. I suggest you cease and desist before admins are notified. Thank you. Neo16287 05:49, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Neo. You are very wise! Indeed if New York was part and parcel of New England I would have had to adjust the population and area as well. That would involve too much calculation. So lets leave it out then. I would urge you though to consider the historical context and think if there are any good reasons why New York should be left out of this exclusive club. The line seems rather arbitrary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtkrug (talkcontribs)

It's quite simple really. New England was colonized by the Dutch, and was referred to as New Amsterdam. Not the Brits, and thus not New England. Now that I have set that straight for you, do us all a favor and sign your posts on other peoples pages. Neo16287 01:09, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I should also warn you that your remark "you are very wise!" may constitute a violation of Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy, which if brought to an admin's attention, may result in a block on your account. Just a thought. Neo16287 02:55, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I suggest you view the New England Talk Page for corroboration of the fact that New York was never a part of New England, and why it was not. Just another thought. Neo16287 16:08, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I made a typo in my post, and meant to say that NY was colonized by the Dutch. So I erred. And the request to have you sign your posts is in no way a personal attack. Any admin will back that up. It is a simple request that you sign your posts when leaving messages. Neo16287 22:55, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
