This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself has been or will shortly be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, but if you want to use the content from it, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Speedy deletion nomination of Schrimp

A tag has been placed on Schrimp requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Schrimp. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. I wanted to share with you an analogy that I've used before to explain how high the bar is set for someone to be the topic of a Wikipedia article. If the subject is an athlete, they either have to be competing at the highest possible amateur level -- the Olympics -- or else be playing at a fully professional level -- the Boston Celtics -- to be sufficiently notable to be the subject of a Wikipedia article. That may help you to understand why I decided to agree with the individual who tagged the above-captioned article for deletion. Aside from the fact that many of the citations didn't seem to mention your name or identify you in any way, which is a big problem as far as reliable sources are concerned, I couldn't find anything that led me to believe that your article met that admittedly high standard. As well, creating an article about yourself contravenes our conflict of interest policy and is highly discouraged; by and large, if you're sufficiently notable to be the topic of a Wikipedia article, someone else will be anxious to write it. If you really believe that you have citations that were not present in the article, and which my brief search could not locate, I'd be happy to return the deleted content to what's called a "sandbox" page where you can add them at your leisure; just leave me a note by clicking on the word "talk" after my signature.
