Remove single translation templates? edit

Now that {{bverse}} supersedes the single translation templates, should I request that they be deleted after I go through and switch to the new template in all the articles that use them? » MonkeeSage « 05:10, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Instructions on userpage edit

Is there a good reason to have the template instructions on your userpage rather than on the template talk page? --Blainster 19:23, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Not really, now. I originally put them here when I had several single-translation template, in order to keep from repeating the same usage text on each template page. With the newer template there is no need. » MonkeeSage « 22:33, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Advantages/Drawbacks edit

Your template has advantages which improve usability, and the option of using NRSV text, but one drawback is that the crosswalk site uses advertising support. This should be mentioned and discussed before widespread adoption. --Blainster 19:36, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree. » MonkeeSage « 22:33, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Septuagint versions edit

Hello,

I've found a site with Septuagint-based translations on it, rather than Masoretic/Vulgate-based translations:

  • http://www.ecmarsh.com/lxx-kjv/ which places a septuagint-based translation (the Brenton-Woods translation) and a masoretic-based translation (the KJV) side-by-side so that you can see the differences (the latter parts of Exodus are a good example of when this becomes significant) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Clinkophonist (talkcontribs) 17:34, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

RSV template edit

I've created a similar template, {{Rsv}}. It doesn't link to BibleCrosswalk or BibleGateway, though, and its parameters are different from these. —Angr (talk) 19:16, 24 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
