Welcome! edit

Shalom, Moishe, and welcome to Wikipedia! I am Rev. Bob Smith (User CTSWyneken). Thank you for your contribution to the Jews for Jesus article. I'll be reverting it, however, because it really doesn't conform to the rules of engagement -- I mean policies and guidelines 8-) -- that Wikipedia has to keep peace over sometimes warring factions. Some of the main ones are below. I've done this to hopefully stave off a savage attack upon you, which may well ensue if I leave them in place. I'm sure you can anticipate some of that, but take a look at the discussions at: talk:Jesus, talk:Martin Luther and talk:On the Jews and Their Lies if you want some idea of what to expect.

I hope you like the place anyhowâ and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Again, welcome! And if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. --CTSWyneken 20:12, 16 June 2006 (UTC)--CTSWyneken(talk)Reply

Comment edit

While I support CTSWyneken's revert and thank him, I find the above comment regarding a mysterious "savage attack upon you" divisive. To use the same parallel as above, both Luther and JFJ sought/seek to convert Jews to Christianity, in other words to make them disappear as a religious group. ←Humus sapiens ну? 23:31, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dear Humus: The comment has no mystery to it, nor is it intended in any way as a religious statement. As you and I have experienced from some users, on both sides of religious controversies, things can get very personal very fast. Since Rev. Rosen's personal point of view is very controversial, to say the least, I am hoping that he will abide by rules here to minimize such attacks. --CTSWyneken 00:46, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please contact us edit

  • Dear Moishe Rosen,

I would be grateful if you would contact me (dcannon1965(at)maxnet.co.nz), preferably from an official Jews for Jesus e-mail account, to verify your identity. If you are the real Moishe Rosen, welcome to Wikipedia! What concerns me, however, is possible identity theft/impersonation. When persons claiming to be well-known individuals contribute to Wikipedia, it is my policy as an administrator to request verification of their identity, in order to protect real people from having words put in their mouths. For that reason, I am considering blocking this account until verification is received. David Cannon (administrator) 09:36, 27 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

    • Dear Mr Rosen,

THANK YOU for answering me so promptly. Yes, you have established your identity to my satisfaction. I welcome you to Wikipedia, and apologise for being overcautious about allowing you to post. My reason was that Wikipedia has been troubled periodically by impersonators claiming to be public figures, putting words in the mouths of the persons whose identities they have assumed. Wikipedia doesn't want to be sued, which is why many administrators - myself included - keep a sharp eye out for any such potential happenings and request verification of identity from any contributors with "notable" names. Anyway, I am fully satisfied now, and I'm glad you're with us.
