Writing an article edit

On the AFD page I stated that as it stands now Colorado dimensional signs should be deleted. Its up to you to establish notability, not to defend a poorly written article. Also, you probably should read WP:COI, as its likely that you have a conflict of interest. Overall, even if the company is notable, the article fails to demonstrate this.

  • To let you know whats wrong with the article:
  • Colorado Dimensional Signs

Colorado Dimensional Signs produces three dimensional signs and hand carved signs in Australia. They are one of the pioneers of this style of signage where is the evidence for this?. This niche market How do we know its a niche market? signage is primarily favoured by upmarket wineries, cellar doors, boutique hotels, bed and breakfasts and horse / farming properties Irrelevant. What makes this style of signage unique is the introduction of either relief or incised carving usually completely, or finished by hand You need to prove this - how do I know that this is not the normal way to carve signs?.

Often the application of an appliqué is introduced to the signs. Most signs have the notable difference of the use of 23karat gold in a process known as gilding. This process is a traditional craft rarely undertaken by today's signwriters You cant just say that without evidence.

Their signs have won numerous awards Marketing brag.

In 2010 they won the Signs of the Times Magazine [1] International Sign Award - Freestanding Signs. They have been featured in industry magazines Prove it.

In 2009 Visual Impact Magazine [2] said "“You wouldn't class the work of Colorado Dimensional as signage; "works of art" is a far more fitting description. Their mix of handcrafted and custom signage is created using old world craftmanship and the latest in technology. It's amazing workmanship, one that has earned the company a well-deserved reputation for first-class quality. Simply stunning.” Advertising

Signs edit

"This listing is about looking back in retrospect and able to pin point where "Dimensional Signs in Australia" started and who those people were to engage in a craft from times past to beautify towns etc through the medium of signs. There are notable "judges" that deem the work worthy of "the best in the world".

  • A quick search by me seems to show that signs in general are under-represented in wikipedia. Maybe you could work on improving Sign (display device) as there is very little information about techniques modern or otherwise. Clovis Sangrail (talk) 05:06, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Take a deep breath edit

You seem to be a little too emotionally wrapped up in this Colorado Signs issue, as the numerous comments left on various editors' talk pages show. (I'm assuming the edits left by IPs are by you after logging out - please accept my apologies if this assumption is incorrect.) Relax and realise that having or not having a Wikipedia article about your company is not the end of the world, and will not increase or decrease sales. If your company really is making world-class signs, positive word-of-mouth is a much greater influence than whether your article exists or not.
