Welcome! edit

Hello, Miki1979, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Simone Arrigoni, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Hi Mike1901,

Thank you for your quick reply. I actually do not understand why what I made should not be sufficient, as I have read your link and also the following guidelines (I paste them here, with the URL where they are written): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Donating_copyrighted_materials

Granting us permission to copy material already online[edit source] One simple way to grant permission to copy material already online is to put that permission explicitly on the site where that material is posted. This is commonly known as a "copyleft" notice. This notice must state that your site (or portions of your site) are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA) and the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts) or that it is in the public domain. For text, a good statement of release might read:

The text of this website [or page, if you are specifically releasing one section] is available for modification and reuse under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License and the GNU Free Documentation License (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts).

If you verify text by placing a note at the website, you may wish to use

Copyright information Content of at least one revision of the associated article was derived in whole or part from non-free copyrighted material on the website {{{URL}}}. This material was (prior to placement or subsequently) freely licensed in a manner compatible for Wikipedia's use by the posting of one or more compatible copyright licenses on the external website. Though the release notice for the material, which is irrevocable, may have been later removed from view, or the URL may have changed or gone dead, an archive of that webpage, including the copyright release notice, is available at {{{Archive URL}}}. to make sure that your release is documented at the talk page of the article. Instructions for using that template can be found at Template:Text release. Please do not use this template if the release is not published at your website, as the text will need to be removed.

If you would like to allow Wikipedia or another English Wikimedia site to use your content, be it text or images, but don't want to put a license statement on the website, you still must release it under the free licenses noted above and can do so in the following ways:

For text, you can send an email, ideally using the language from the template at Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries: (1) From an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org;

(2) After sending the email, place

Crystal file temporary.png An email containing details of the permission for this text has been sent in accordance with WP:OTRS. Note to uploaders: Please copy the URL of this image or article in the email to assist OTRS volunteers to find it. If an email cannot be found in the OTRS system, the content may be deleted for lack of valid licensing information. Note to OTRS volunteers: If the email contains sufficient confirmation of the validity of the license, please replace this template with {{OTRS permission|id=Ticket number}}. Otherwise, remove the copyrighted content, deleting the page if necessary.

Please be aware that there is currently a 52-day backlog processing messages sent to the permissions-en queue. on the article's talk page.

Someone will reply to your email, indicating whether the content and your license is acceptable and update the page to indicate that the confirmation of the license has been received. For images, you can send an email, ideally using the language from the template at Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries: (1) From an address associated with the original publication to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org;

(2) Then upload the file to Wikimedia Commons and place

Note to uploaders: Please copy the URL of this image or article in the email to assist OTRS volunteers to find it. So it seems to me that if the right copyleft notice is published on the cited website (as now it is), and if I follow the Template: Text release (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Text_release), I can try to re-write my article.

What do you think about it? Many thanks again. Best, S.

Hi Malunrenta, I contested the deletion of my article "Simone Arrigoni" and I wrote my reasons on its talk page, I paste them here, plese let me know what do you think about them. Many thanks for your kind attention!

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because I have retrieved information from the website http://www.simonearrigoni.com/about, of which I am the owner, and on which I added the statement of copyleft notice required by Wikipedia. The statement is "The texts of this website are available for modification and reuse under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported Lincense and the GNU Free Documentation License (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts)" and it meets the criteria stated in Wikipedia rules at this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Donating_copyrighted_materials that states what I paste at the bottom of this message. Moreover, I added the "Text release" advice at the top of the page, as indicated by Wikipedia guidelines, adding the URL of webcitation.org archive page.

Please let me know why my action would not be sufficient to meet Wikipedia rules on copyright. Many thanks! Simone

Speedy deletion nomination of Simone Arrigoni edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Simone Arrigoni requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.simonearrigoni.com/about. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
