Hi Midnight bird, did you upload this image that you added to Heather Brooke?

I uploaded a cropped version of it today, and have somehow managed to make the history disappear, including the name of the uploader and the licence, even though I retained the same title. If you're the original uploader, would you mind re-adding the licence to save it from deletion? SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 20:32, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. The image existed only on the Commons, so when I uploaded the cropped version here, I got a blank page, which confused me. All is well now. Sorry to bother you. SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 21:05, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification edit

Hi. When you recently edited J. J. Haverty, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cathedral of Christ the King (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Vineta photo edit

Hello. Please stop replacing a photo that has a clear copyright status with one that is not. Just because an image has been uploaded to Commons doesn't mean its copyright status is clearly useable. If that was the case, COM:DEL wouldn't exist. For us to use an image on en.wiki, the image must be demonstrably PD in the United States (since that's where the servers are located). In this case, if we had a pre-1 January 1923 publication date in the US, it would be verifiably in the PD. Or if the (presumably German) author died before 1 January 1926, it would also be PD in the US. But the uploader has proved neither of those situations, and instead posted a highly dubious "personal collection" claim. In the current situation, the photograph is unusable on en.wiki. Thanks. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
