Mid-American images edit

I have uploaded several free use images of Mid-American cars taken in 2006, and removed your images from the article. These two images were up for deletion anyhow since you didn't specify the source. Wikipedia won't tolerate images with writing on them anyhow. I took many more images of Mid-American (and many other series) during my 2006 racetrack tour of 29 events. I took dozens of nice looking images at Lake Geneva, and more fair quality images at the White and Blue races at Wisconsin International Raceway last year, so let me know if you know any drivers would like have an image of their car. I haven't been to any Mid-American events yet this year (in 16 events), but I'm sure that I will (especially at Road America). I will expand the article too. Conflict of Interest commentary edit

Since you likely are close to the Mid-American Stock Car Series, here's commentary on Wikipedia's Conflict of Interest guidelines and policies:

  If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. Royalbroil 12:57, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Redirect edit

There is a thing on Wikipedia called a redirect that directs you from a common misspelling to the real spelling. You should not recreate the article for a common misspelling. Instead I changed the article to a redirect from "Mid American Stock Car Series" to "Mid-American Stock Car Series". Royalbroil 23:24, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image removal edit

Please explain why you removed an image that I added to the article. The photo shows a closeup of a 2007 model car after a win. It is expected that you discuss controversial things like that on the article's talk page (Talk:Mid-American Stock Car Series). Royalbroil 20:07, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is the car used on the Mid American tour? If so, I see no reason why a picture of the car can't be used. We can change the caption and not state that it was an official win, just that it is a 2007 series car. Otherwise, take a picture of a 2007 Mid-Am car and upload it here. There should be an image of a 2007 car if at all possible. Royalbroil 05:03, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Cancel my previous post. I see that the car was not used at any official races. None of the racers in any of my other images do either. I still urge you to take a picture of a 2007 car. I don't know if I'll go to any official Mid-Am races this year. Royalbroil 05:13, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I came to 141 Speedway on September 1 not knowing that the full Mid America series would be there. It was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed your call in the announcer's booth of the Mid American portion of the event. Please review my edit to the MidAm article about the Vercauteran Memorial and adjust as needed.
