Wow! You did some incredible work at 007 (Shanty Town). I figured it would linger as a stub for a while, but now I think it's a great DYK candidate. I'll make sure we're co-credited. --BDD (talk) 23:30, 7 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Glad I could help. There is very likely a link between this song and The Clash's "Rudie Can't Fail" - I'll see if I can find a source. --Michig (talk) 09:15, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Zeus! (album) AfD edit

Hi Michig, I read your comment about proposing a merge rather than AfD, and I appreciate the advice. It does makes sense, and I'm reevaluating my approach. Going through a lot of NPP backlog, proposing AfD makes it clear the it doesn't pass the "a trusted user thinks this page is okay" test, and gets it attention. Obviously I hope that it does get merged by the writer and they learn the standard. Your alternative means that it stays in NPP, where someone else may just Approve improperly. A minor conundrum since I don't have the time to fix the article. --MJH (talk) 15:07, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

This kind of sucks but... edit

No matter how much Heeper adds to "Rat Salad", "Electric Funeral", or "Hand of Doom", he still isn't finding the right information to prove it's notability. I still think "Hand of Doom" could stay up, but at this point I'm ready to nominate both "Rat Salad" and "Electric Funeral" for deletion. I mean he even lied and said "Rat Salad" was as popular as Led Zeppelin's "Moby Dick"... which is unsourced an unsourced opinion ironically listed under "facts." If I nominate these two for deletion would you support me? Also Should "Hand of Doom" be nominated too or is it notable enough? --Mrmoustache14 (talk) 18:21, 9 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Well if they continue to try to keep these as standalone articles, they will have to go to AfD. If they do I would certainly support deletion and redirection. "Hand of Doom" may be worth keeping due to the cover versions. --Michig (talk) 18:26, 9 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re:: Root (Band) edit

Thank you for your attention to the article Root (Band). I want to do some work under the title 'The Revelation but At present that title is now being used only for a redirect in response to an album title 'The Relevation'. It was seggested that that the word relevation was misspelled but it seems there is a word 'Relevation' which means; 'a process of moving to a different level. Compare with 'elevation'.

Please help clear the path for The Revelation.

Sincerely: RCNesland (talk) 13:35, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm not really sure what you want to do here. The existing article The Revelation, which is the correct English title of the album ([1]) should be merged with Zjevení, if an article is justified at all. What exactly do you want to do with The Relevation)? --Michig (talk) 13:43, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Alka Yagnik edit

You added a BLP Sources tag on the page . Although you've deleted the blog source , what else is wrong on the page ?? --ANKMALI (talk) 17:47, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sourcing is generally poor. Some of the other sources are unsuitable, and much of the content in the article isn't sourced. --Michig (talk) 17:50, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Kindly point out which poor sources you are referring to in the article . There are some great sources like BBC , CNN IBN , Times of India , relevant Wikipedia links ,etc as well. Unless you are specific , the problem cannot be solved. --ANKMALI (talk) 11:05, 19 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have my doubts whether 'Bollywood Hungama' would pass WP:RS. It is currently being used as a source for "She also holds the record for most awards won (7) as well as maximum nominations (35) in Best Female Playback category at the Filmfare Awards", but the linked page appears to list three films relating to a different person. These awards need to be reliably sourced. I also have doubts over desimartini.com as a reliable source. In terms of article content, there are claims of "two times recipient of the National Film Award", which isn't sourced. There is no source for her date or place of birth and the whole 'Early life and background' section is unsourced. The Career section only has sources for singing for Akashvani and for the last three sentences. The 'Significant collaborations' section is entirely unsourced. I'll take the filmography as fairly easily verifiable despite not citing any sources. In summary, it isn't a question of whether or not there are some good sources in the article, but a question of how well the article content is sourced. --Michig (talk) 18:23, 19 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

The National Film Awards , Filmfare Awards , other awards , Significant Collaborations , Filmography are verifiable from the wikipedia links on these relevant pages of Wikipedia itself. There is no aorta of doubt in any of these . Infact the Bollywood Hungama link is irrelevant, I'm removing it. Adding apt. source for Early Life & Background. Hence I feel BLP Sources tag on the page is unsolicited as nothing said on the page is contentious/unverifiable . --ANKMALI (talk) 05:25, 20 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Adjustments edit

Hi, I have made adjustments to this page because there were some inaccuracies. You seem to have gotten a little annoyed by this? Asking for citations. Well, I was not only in the band but I also formed it. It was my band. That's as good a citation as you're going to get I guess. It may not mean anything to al ot of people but I take very seriously what is written about me or my old band, as Wikipedia is seen as a bastion of fact. I hope I have not annoyed you too much. Any way, hopefully you wont keep changing my facts back to the various inaccuracies that were there. Thanks alot though for your diligence, it is most appreciated.

Yosuke Hayashi edit

Hayashi planned (Dead or Alive 3), development-directed (Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword), lead-designed (Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Metroid: Other M) and produced (Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Metroid: Other M, Dead or Alive: Dimensions, Ninja Gaiden 3, Dead or Alive 5, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge) several major video games that sold in millions of copies. Contrary to Odie5533's wild guess, he's not a "the PR head for the team" (or a "PR guy"), he's doing these interviews (and quite a lot of them) as the head (chief, boss, leader, director) of the studio as a whole (since 2008). Now please go and restore the article. --Niemti (talk) 13:21, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article was deleted at AfD after two weeks of discussion with the only argument in favour of keeping stating that there were lots of Youtube videos. Most of the opinions expressed in the AfD were regarding a lack of independent coverage of the subject, and during those two weeks nobody came forward with a good argument for keeping. Unless sources can be identified to deal with the concerns then we're not going to have an article about him. If you come up with reliable independent sources then come back to me. Otherwise, if you feel that the AfD was closed incorrectly you can raise it at WP:DRV, but I think you would be wasting your time doing that. --Michig (talk) 14:13, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and "a good argument for keeping": being currently one of the most influential persons in the Japanese video game industry (action and fighting games). Oh, and the 100% false claim of him being "the PR head for the team" ("PR guy") being not only untrue and just ridiculous (and yet no one even bothered to check who is he really by using the arcane powers of Google). His current position besides being the head of the entire studio is being the internal video game producer for all their new games. --Niemti (talk) 17:02, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Please revert the article.--Robyc73 (talk) 20:05, 27 December 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.2.25.98 (talk) Reply

I have made it clear what is required for this to be restored. Pointing me to a Google search wasn't it. I have deleted the new version under WP:CSD criterion G4. Do not simply recreate this article. Consensus from a community discussion was in favour of deletion. If you wish that to be overturned you will need to demonstrate that that consensus was incorrect or that there is coverage that wasn't considered during the AfD. --Michig (talk) 19:39, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, It is clear that despite some contributions overwhelming evidence of the role of this person, you do not want to create an article. I was asked by someone to recreate the page with more elements. I ask for a review of the process of cancellation of this article. Many believe this article useful because many articles are connected to it. I agree with what was written by Niemti. --Robyc73 (talk) 21:34, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Consensus was incorrect, because the following statement (from the nomination):

"He has done various interviews as the PR head for the team, but this does not make him in particular notable because any PR guy they had would have received the same interviews"

is incorrect. Hayashi is not and never was "the PR head for the team" (any team).[4] He's just "head" (without "PR") alright.[5]

He's doing interviews about his own work. Notable work. Specifically, big-budget video games that are designed, directed and/or produced by him. --Niemti (talk) 02:02, 28 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Histmerge edit

Hi Michig,

Would you be able to perform a histmerge for me (I think that's what its called!). Could you please delete Come Alive (Leona Lewis song) so that User:Lil-unique1/Sandbox/Come Alive (Leona Lewis song) can be moved into its place? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 20:24, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

A history merge isn't something I've ever done, so I'd need to go and look it up. I'm about done for today, and won't be able to edit again until tomorrow evening - I'd be happy to look into it then if it can wait. --Michig (talk) 20:31, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
I wasn't sure if thats the correct process. If I could I'd just move the page but can't cause there's already a page of that name which exists as a redirect. But thanks. It can wait, so it will be appreciated. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 20:41, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
As there was no history at the original article other than being created as a redirect, I have deleted that and moved your sandbox version to article space. Let me know if there are any issues with it. Thanks. --Michig (talk) 18:43, 28 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Boo Hewerdine edit

The article is unsourced and there is zero evidence of notability. I strongly suggest you add some quickly before I tag for BLPPPROD and then take to AfD. Regards, GiantSnowman 12:32, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

If you bothered to do a Google search, the evidence for notability would be pretty obvious. I have listed sources on the talk page and these are nowhere near exhaustive - scoring three feature films, writing hit singles for other artists, nomination for an Ivor Novello award, receiving lots of coverage, etc. You should also read up on WP:BLPPROD as it is not applicable to this article, and probably WP:PROD as well as this isn't close to being suitable for proposed deletion. I'll be offline for a few hours but will work on it later. --Michig (talk) 12:48, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
I did, I could find nothing but YouTube videos, Twitter and blogs. BLPPROD would have been fine (article unreferenced) and my PROD was fine - I viewed it as uncontroversial. Please don't forget the burden lies with the editor wanting to add material. I'll leave the article for you to weave your magic ;) GiantSnowman 12:53, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
You should read WP:BLPPROD again - it only applies to articles created after March 18, 2010. This article was created almost six years before that. --Michig (talk) 13:03, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Mighty Diamonds discography edit

Hi, my name is Christian. I have been working very hard on the Mighty Diamonds wikipedia page and I just cannot understand why twice some major changes were made on the work that I did, as I don't think there was a problem with the way I originally designed the discography in order to simplify it. I understand that you have more priviledge than me because of all the contribution you have been making, and I'm quite impress with the list, but I now see mistakes once you erase my modifications. II've been studying the Mighty Diamonds extensively for two years now and believe me I know much about their discography. Here is a few mistakes that I can point on the page you have reverse on December 13, after I made my corrections: The album 'Tell Me What's Wrong' is from 1980, not 1978 )it was in the UK Reggae Charts in August 1980). The album Planet Mars Dub, should be below Planet Earth, as it's the dub version. The album Indestructible should be removed and simply place on the same line as Changes as it's the same album and it just complicate the discography (at least, from my point of view). Reggae Street was released in January 1982 (source: UK Reggae Charts), even if the sleeve says 1981. Heads Of Government is from 1983. Backstage is from 1984 (released in January 1984: source UK Reggae Charts). Plus I had made many notification next to mini-LPs like Backstage and Kouchie Vibes that were helpful for people who looks at their complicated discography. Thanks for your overstanding. My webpage on the Mighty Diamonds can be see at the bottom of the Wikipedia MD page. The UK Reggae Charts that I have been using are availble on Tapir Reggae Discographies (compiled by Dub Vendors Daddy Kool and Greensleeves Records) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lune9 (talkcontribs) 04:37, 17 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Any changes that I made were based on the sources that I have, including several books and web sources. The release dates that should be shown are the original release dates, which for many of these albums is the original Jamaican release date, which may well be earlier than when they made the reggae charts in the UK. For Tell Me What's Wrong there are several sources that state that the original Jamaican release date was 1978. Planet Mars Dub is the dub version of Planet Earth but it appears before because it was released earlier. Indestructible and Changes are not the same album - most tracks are the same but not all. Just because Reggae Street first appeared in a chart in mid-January 1982 doesn't mean that it wasn't, as several sources state, released in 1981. For Heads of Government, several sources state that the Jah Guidance release was from 1982, and you can see an advert in Black Music and Jazz Review from 1982 here with it for sale. There are several sources that have a 1983 release date for Backstage, such as Roots Archives, The Encyclopedia of Popular Music, discogs, strictly-vibes. Again, appearing in the chart in January 1984 doesn't prove that it wasn't released in 1983 - it actually charted in the January 7 chart, which means that it would almost certainly have been released in December 1983 (remember that these chart were based on sales for a week up to the copy date for the magazine, which was before it was published, which itself was about 3 days before the date on the cover - the January 7 issue would have been on sale on January 4, with charts likely based on the week up to January 1 or 2). --Michig (talk) 07:48, 17 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
