Speedy deletion of File:Dr. Meral Ekincioglu.jpg edit

The page File:Dr. Meral Ekincioglu.jpg has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done for the following reason:

File description page with no corresponding file; cannot move from file to non-file namespace

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

(To answer the question you had attempted to write: Pages can normally be moved, but pages starting with "File:" can't. You can re-create the content at the correct location, which – if I see correctly – you have already done at Draft:Meral Ekincioglu.) ~ ToBeFree (talk) 16:26, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Achmad Rachmani. I noticed that you recently removed content from Ayla Karacabey without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.   Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. JBW (talk) 19:07, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I never understand why my article on this distinguished and accomplished scholar, curator, architecture historian, general publishing coordinator, editor has been removed? She is internationally recognized scholar in her expertise fields, she has published pioneering scholarly essays and architectural monographs, she is a pioneering scholar in her expertise fields, a scholar from MIT, Harvard, Columbia universities, top research-based universities in the world, etc. She has over 100 publications in (printed and digital) architecture. This is not advertisement, promotion. This is introduction and an article on an internationally recognized expert in architecture. There are lots of articles on such architects published by Wikipedia, even less accomplished, etc. There are several articles on her books, scholarly essays on Wikipedia! Speedy deletion nomination of User:Michael2024/sandbox edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Michael2024/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 64andtim (chat) 23:21, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Meral Ekincioglu edit

I have deleted this draft as a blatant copyright infringement of this website. You can not take material found on a website somewhere and just copy/paste it here. Even if the page you are copyright from is not indicated as being copyrighted (which, it is in this case), it is very likely copyrighted anyway. We have to have affirmative release under a license compatible with Wikipedia to use the material here. Even if we had such a release, the material would need to be fundamentally rewritten to comply with our policy on neutral writing. Please, don't do this again. If you have questions, let me know. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 00:04, 5 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have contacted her (Meral Ekincioglu, Ph.D.) and asked her if there is “blatant copyright infringement” in relation to her notable accomplishments, projects, studies in her expertise fields. She does not think that there is a copyright issue of this Wikipedia article on her studies, projects, notable accomplished projects, etc. in her expertise fields. This is not just copy/paste as well. She has read my article. With neutral writing, this article’s goal is to share her pioneering scholarly studies in her expertise field, notable scholarly essays, monographs and her exemplary contributions to architecture history. She is a pioneering scholar in architecture from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard and Columbia universities. I think that her profile should take her place in Wikipedia. Her books’ information is in other Wikipedia articles, so, why should not her take her place in the same knowledge resources? I let her know about this.
