LEI Financial edit

Hello, Mferree, and welcome to Wikipedia. An article you recently created, LEI Financial, was recently speedily deleted because its content is clearly written to promote a company, product, or service. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not an advertising service. Feel free to ask me on my user talk page if you have any questions. Thank you. -- Merope Talk 16:59, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I apoligize for my ignorence. I wanted to add a POV to the theory. I also want to apologize for deleting the spam warning. I made some changes by taking out all of the out bound links and assumed I was supposed to delete it. Again my igonerence. What I was intending to do with the LEI Financial was to create a description/definition of my company, similar to Countrywide. Would it be possible to advise me on what I did wrong. I appriciate your time and opinion. Mferree

Sure. Here's some thoughts:
  • First, notice how the Countrywide article is completely neutral in POV. That's really important around here. See WP:NPOV
  • Second, make sure that the company you want to write about actually qualifies for an article. WP:CORP has the guidelines to follow.
  • Make sure that what you put into the article is properly sourced, with independent verifiable sources (ie, has an independent magazine or newspaper profiled the company? Cite that publication as a reference.) Don't put any external links in the text, although an "External links" section at the bottom is ok, as long as it's not used for promotional purposes. See WP:CITE and WP:V.
  • Remember, the purpose of an encyclopedia entry is to document the existence and history of the company only, not, in any way, to promote it.
  • Most importantly, before you recreate a deleted article, write a draft of it on your own sandbox (see Wikipedia:Subpages on how to create one) and then contact the admin who deleted the original page (you can see who did this by going to the title of the deleted page and clicking on the delete log link). Explain the situation, and ask them to review the new article to make sure they are okay with it. If they give it their blessing, then you can recreate the article with the new text.
Please write here or on my talk page if you have further questions. Akradecki 17:52, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much for the response. I would like to invite you to view my user page where I have put the changes and let me know if this would be acceptable or not. Thanks again for your time.

Still needs some work. Do I have permission to edit on your user page? Akradecki 20:51, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

YES, Please do.

Quantity theory of money edit

Please stop adding spam information into the articles. While we welcome the addition of legitimate economics theory, what you have added is meant to promote your business and is written in a non-encyclopedic fashion. Continued activity of this sort will lead to formal warnings and can result in your account being blocked. As I see no one has posted the welcome message to you, I'll do that below. Please consider making yourself familiar with our policies before you spend the time editing more articles that will just be reverted. Akradecki 17:07, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Article rewrite edit

Take a look at it now. I know the change looks kind of drastic, but it's real important that the article is simple, to-the-point, and yeah, a bit dry. That's the way of an encyclopedia. Now, I'd suggest going back to the admin who deleted the original version. If you can't remember or can't find who he/she is, you might try User:NawlinWiki or User:Mailer diablo, as both are very active in the article deletion department, and can give you some good, critical feedback. When you approach them, in your inquiry message, consider mentioning why you think the article complies with WP:CORP, and be sure to mention that this is an article recreation but with improved text. Good luck! Akradecki 21:24, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh, on second look, it looks like User:Merope did the deleting, so you might want to start with him. Akradecki 21:26, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

WOW, Thanks a bunch edit
