Help needed edit

I'm new to Wikipedia and have been improving an article with the best of my ability to get it ranked as a good article. I and other users are actively working to make it fit the Featured article criteria. It's been nominated as a good article and has been waiting a review for months. The article in question is the Eurasian Economic Union. The problem is, that the union launches on January 1, and that is when it will be getting most of its traffic. Is there any way to have the article assessed before that date?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks,

Mentoroso (talk) 23:07, 19 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Mentoroso, in a word, no. There is no deadline on Wikipedia, especially since we are all volunteers. The article will get reviewed when it gets reviewed, and pestering people to get it done faster might actually make the process take longer. Another thing to remember is that Wikipedia is not free advertising space, and a neutral point of view is vital. Primefac (talk) 01:09, 20 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hello Primefac, I did not say there was a deadline. What I was saying is that an article equivalent to the European Union (the latter which gets 10'000 views per day), probably should be looked at before its launch date, if we're serious about making it a higher quality encyclopedia. My intent wasn't to advertise and I am not doing so, as the EEU is not selling any products, it's a supranational body. As for NPOV, I didn't really understand what you were referring to.
Cheers

Technically speaking, a Good Article (or Feature Article) should be at GA (or FA) quality before it gets approved officially. So if you've applied for review, then it should already be a GA/FA quality article. The title isn't really that important in the long run (or for the majority of people who will be reading the article). As for the NPOV, that doesn't really apply in this situation and I'm honestly not sure why I mentioned it. Primefac (talk) 23:26, 20 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for December 10 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Eurasian Economic Union, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Georgia. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

EEU accession dates edit

The reason why I (and other editors as well) reverted your edits was because you made it seem that Armenia and Kyrgyzstan acceded to the EEU the same date that Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan did, which is simply false and not true. Armenia and Kyrgyzstan did not sign on 29 May 2014. If you watch the signing ceremony, only 3 countries signed the initial treaty which was Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan. Your recent edit is more then acceptable, but please refrain from making it seem that there were 5 original signatories from the beginning, because there wasn't.
