Speedy deletion nomination of Northern Tier Energy LP edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Northern Tier Energy LP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. DAQO New Energy Corp. edit

Hello, MeganKing, and thank you for your contributions!

I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, DAQO New Energy Corp., is copied from another Wikipedia page, DAQO NEW ENERGY CORP. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:

  1. a link to the article you copied from
  2. the date you copied it

You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.

If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.

Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 12:57, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Copyvios from company annual reports edit

I just deleted Northern Tier Energy LP again, as you just re-posted it, with the same copyvios from the Annual Report as were in it previously. Please don't do that. Please respond to these messages on your talk page. JesseW, the juggling janitor 04:25, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

And reverted your additions to Arris Group as copyvio. Sigh. You obviously put some work into wikifying them -- it's frustrating to have to remove it -- but you can't copy-paste stuff! JesseW, the juggling janitor 04:38, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

And CLECO. None of your edits fail to contain copyvios except for a single-line entry in a list. Sigh. JesseW, the juggling janitor 04:56, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of GOLDEN MINERALS CO edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on GOLDEN MINERALS CO requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Atlatsa Resources edit

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Atlatsa Resources, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.atlatsaresources.co.za/about-us/corporate-profile.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 05:59, 5 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Uranium Resources, Inc, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

Recent edits... edit

Hi Megan! I noticed a small issue with one of your recent contributions (just a typographical error) at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. Upon digging a little deeper, though, I noticed a number of your recent contributions reference a website hosted by Stanford, which appears to compile data from other press releases and news reports without actually citing the original source of the information. In addition to potential copyright issues, it also makes it difficult or impossible for other editors and readers to ascertain the reliability and neutrality of this information. I also noticed User:Lvzhpchristina has been making substantially similar edits. Are your edits part of a project or assignment of some kind? user:j (talk) 01:45, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • First of all, thank you for your friendly reminder. These edits are indeed part of a project aiming at improving information related to companies, as you can see. We sincerely hope that our editions can contribute to the development of Wikipedia. As to references, I will try my best to find the original source. If you still have questions, please leave me a message. Thanks again for your reminder, best wishes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MeganKing (talkcontribs) 02:41, 18 June 2013‎ (UTC)Reply

  • I am sorry about that. I found the news in nytimes, and you can also find it in google by searching "HEWLETT-PACKARD RESTATES CASH FLOW BUT NOT EARNINGS", but sadly I cannot enter the website(nytimes), so I just post without links. Thank you for your kind reminding. I will pay attention to that.

December 2013 edit

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. 220 of Borg 11:18, 25 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks very much for your kind reminding! I will summarize my future addings. Please do not hesitate to tell me if there are any other mistakes. Your suggestions can help us a lot.

Student project edit

Hello, MeganKing and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students.

Go through our online training for students.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Helpme}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, if your class doesn't already have one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! --Tryptofish (talk) 16:29, 25 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks a lot! I will follow these instructions. Wikipedia is amazing, wish I can do better in the after.--MeganKing (talk) 09:42, 28 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
