MegamanZero edit

final (0/8/4) ending 23:15 13, December 2005 (UTC)

MegamanZero (talk · contribs) – Hello. I'm MegamanZero, and I've been an editor for little under a year now, slowly absorbing myself more and more into wikipedia daily. I believe I have somewhere around the 1000+ editing mark, and I have created and contributed to various articles. As I once told Wolf O' Donnel, my main forte' on wikipedia is to make articles, and then I( usually) step back and let others perfect and improve upon my work. The main bulk of my contributions are related to video games, manga, and fictional items, but I do contribute discussion relatating to anatomy, and I plan to slowly become more involved in the computer science articles. Concerning my relationships with my fellow wikipedians, I think that I have not had any serious conflicts, and any "arguments" I have engaged in have ended in a peaceful, resourseful manner, with a constructive outcomes for the article. I have been intereted in adminship just recently, and I believe that I can furthur help my fellow wikiepdians as an admin; by solving disputes, encouaging peaceful solutions, reverting vandalism, etc. I also enjoy having people come to my talk page for help, and I relish the thought of helping those people solve thier problems; as part of a vast community, indeed, I've been trying to help more and more on the Wikipedia:Community Portal. My outlook on wikipedia is simple: I believe we should work together and make this the best informative place possible.

I..accept the nomination.-MegamanZero 3:19 6,December 2005 (UTC)

  1. Oppose Less then 500 Mainspace edits, almost all of which are minor edits (?). Looks like a little more use of the Preview button would be in order too. Lots of good image work though! xaosflux T/C 00:04, 6 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
  2. Weak Oppose Good editor, but you need to learn more about wikipedia. To start, you didn't sign your self-nom or acceptance (~~~~), and the answer to the first question makes me wonder if you know what adminship entails. You don't need to be an admin to edit articles, we need admins to clear AfD backlogs, block vandals, do speedy deletions, protect/unprotect pages, and a whole host of other things. You are a good editor, come back in a month or two with more understanding of wikipedia and I'll gladly support. -Greg Asche (talk) 00:55, 6 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
    • If I may comment, my point as becoming a admin was not to focus on just editing articles; indeed, I plan to partake in all of the roles of adninship as you said above- I just would like the option of reasoning before attempting such actions; I think that as a wikipedian, however, pushing foward good relations is very important. As for understanding wikipedia, I have read through various articles detailing code and concensus numerous times, and I made sure to read all the articles concerning adminship before this endevour. -MegamanZero 3:19 6,December 2005 (UTC)
  3. Oppose. The amount of edit summaries this user ever typed can be counted on one hand. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 02:11, 6 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

  1. I want to support with all of my heart however you need to be exposed to wikipedia just a bit longer. --Cool CatTalk|@ 02:33, 6 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
  2. I'll second that; and after having had a little interaction with you, I would say that you're on the right track. --Lectonar 11:33, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
  3. I really want to vote for you from what you say and believe, (especially because I'm a fan of Sonic and Megaman) but I feel you don't have enough credibility and you aren't as bold as other admins. I feel you need to become more firm with the five pillars of Wikipedia, then you'd be set to be an Admin. chess.and.cookies@gmail.com 06:36, 8 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
  4. A little more editing and I'm sure you'll have my full support. the wub "?!" 11:41, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I have acted informally as his mentor for some time. He asked if he could edit my page to make the relationship a little more formal, and I agreed. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 13:30, 13 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
I noticed that. I meant only the addition of a link to his RfA – was that sanctioned by you as well? Sorry to be confusing. fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 14:08, 13 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
A. I plan to take full responsilbilty of many chores, should I recieve adminship; I plan to engage paticularly in the assistance of vandalism reverts, as well as WP:NPOVD. I also am a heavy supporter of Wikipedia:Etiquette, as for the fact that we are all working for a common goal, shouldn't we combine together on issues and come to comprimises..? If we argue, nothing get done, and its also just a great feeling to have good, healthy relationships with your peers.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. I suppose I am pleased with my work on List of Dead or Alive characters and the Mega Man articles as a whole, and how other editors and I came together and learned to work as a team, overhalling the articles to a higher standard of quality.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A'.I believe I came across some difference of opinion in my various video game articles, but in all of them, I think I listened to the other sides belief on the article, and came to a comprimise which was best for the articles; all in all, I think the other editors and I walked out with sense of fairness and acomplishment.
4. Have you helped an article gain featured article status? If so, which one(s)?
A. I have not. Though I have given two articles to the peer review, and I did appreciate thier feedback. I am currently working on making those articles fit for the main page, as well as getting ready to present the List of Mega Man Zero characters for peer review; I would like to see it featured so that others can see the calaborated efforts of all the hard-working editors who dedicated so much of their time to it.
