Hi, I'd just like to remind you to use edit summaries. Ususually its not all that important, but in the case of nominating something for deletion it is much more important. It helps people like me who just like to skim there watch list and it makes reading the page history alot easier (you know, in the event it survives and someone wants to check to see if it's been nominated before). I saw that your attempt to speedy delete Dr. Albert Benner was removed.

Frankly, all I did was slap on a {{Template:Db-repost}} tag, since I ran across it in the deletion log (see here). No, he doesn't look particularly notable to me, but it's borderline not obvious, so I didn't follow up. --Calton | Talk 04:42, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Articles related to visual perception

Hi,

This is in relation to articles related to visual perception which have been removed by you due to copyright issues. Mach Bands is a particular one in which information contributed by Dale Purves at Neuroscience, Duke Medical Center, was removed. I am his assistant who has been inserting the articles. We have removed any contributions which would link to or in any manner infringe on copyright issues. I request that we be able to re-enter his ideas with improvements made specifically for Wikipedia, which in no way will be a mirror of any other figures. We have removed figures for Mach bands, Chubb illusion, etc. Please let us know if this is ok because we would like to continue our work.--Robert 13:19, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

John Daniel Bergin

I note you moved Dr. John Bergin to John Daniel Bergin. I undertand removing the title, but I wonder if there is a policy of whether it is preferable to use middle names, or rather something like "John Bergin (doctor)" given that his middle name was probably not so much in circulation? Jane Broadbent

I notice you've put a "copyright violation" on Jane Broadbent's page. This is not the case: the text on the web site you refer to was written by me - as was the text on wikipedia. I am the person responsible at Roehampton University for this. The page indicates the copyright is held by Roehamptom University. Various Wikipedia policies and guidelines other than those on copyrights dictate that you should not copy and paste this information. Per Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, Wikipedia is not a mirror nor is it a directory. Per Wikipedia:Autobiography, "You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest." Hi, I'd just like to leave this message to say thanks for your use of edit summaries. It really helps when doing RC patrol and makes it really easy to see that an edit was not vandalism. Moving Indian Biographies

Indian Names have a different convention. Hence your "move" of M.Karunanithi to Muthuvel Karunanithi will lead to confusion. If you are following the western convention it should be Karunanithi Muthuvel and not Muthuvel Karunanithi. If it is Indian Convention it is Just M.Karunanithi. Thomas Harrison Butler

If you want to remove Dr. Butler's title and use his surname then it should be 'Harrison Butler' and not 'Butler' since it's double-barreled.

I freely admit that I was ignorant of the guidelines on academic (or in this case professional) titles - my account is three weeks old as I type, and was somewhat younger when I wrote the article - thankyou for alerting me to them.

You write:

On the contrary, it should have been obvious to you that his surname was 'Harrison Butler' from the second paragraph (or the link at the bottom where Br. Butler signs himself 'T. Harrison Butler') - you do read the articles you edit, don't you?

For the double-barelled name 'Smith Jones', 'Mr. Jones' is an acceptable form of address, which is why I used 'Dr. Butler' (see link). If you aren't familiar with British naming etiquette perhaps you should refrain from editing aticles about British people?

My comments weren't confrontational, but your reply certainly is. Maybe you need to read Wikipedia:Assume good faith? Re. your supposed improvements, perhaps you can tell me what they were - your removal of the title was sloppy (since you left it in the link at the bottom), incorrect since you apparently don't understand double-barrelled names, pedantic, and I had to remove your poor English. Some improvement!

Dr Allahdad Bohyo

A notable Sindhi writer has been deleted with your recommendation. The writer has passed away in 1994 but his contributions for the sindhi language has been phenominal. No doubt you may not find any of references on the internet due to lack of sindhi literature or awareness on internet. He has done his Ph.D in socio-linguistics on " comparative study of Sindhi language spoken: Urbun and ural".
