Peter, thank you for pointing these facts out. If you want to upload images of Diplo, you must have the rights released to public domain. It is easy and if you need help let me know.

Your recent edits edit

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 20:56, 27 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re:Empty page of... edit

I will handle the Alicia Bibiloni situation for you. Tony the Marine (talk) 00:43, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • This is what I did. I created a "workshop" for you in your user page with the format that is used in Wikipedia for bios. You will find the wrokshop here: Workshop.

Write Alicia Bibiloni's bio. there. The name in the title should be the one she was best known as: Alicia Bibiloni. Within the first paragraph you can state that she was born as: Alicia Bibiloni Marquez.

When writing a bio here in Wikipedia, there are a few things that you must take into consideration. Do "not" post something that is considered POV. For example: Fulano was a legend, great, famous etc. It isn't allowed in Wikipedia for the simple reason that we owe oursleves to millions of readers and what may seem one way for some may not seem that way for others.

Another thing is that reliable verifiable references must be provided, otherwise an article may be nominated for deletion.

I am here to guide you every step of the way. When you finish your article, let me know in my talk page and I will look it over before you post it. That what friends are here for. Tony the Marine (talk) 01:13, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

O.K., I went and gave you a small hand with Alicia Bibiloni, I do like what you did. Tony the Marine (talk) 22:40, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Diplo edit

Since there is only one Ramón Rivero in Wikipedia, a redirect of his name without the accent, Ramon Rivero to his article would be the norm. In the case of "Diplo", there is a DJ with that name. What I will do is create what we call a disamgiguation page with the name of "Diplo", thereby the reader will have the option of directing him/herself to the "Diplo" which they are interested in. Tony the Marine (talk) 00:50, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • O.K., I created the disam. page for "Diplo", check it out. Man, you have put me to work overtime (smile). Tony the Marine (talk) 01:06, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Flagicons in infoboxes edit

I have reverted the flagicon you added to Alicia Bibiloni's infobox. Please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style (flags) before adding any more flagicons to infoboxes. In particular please pay close attention to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (flags)#Not for use in locations of birth and death. Aspects (talk) 17:19, 5 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Each language Wikipedia has editors that decide different guidelines for pages on that Wikipedia. Please read through Wikipedia:Manual of Style (flags) for what guidelines the English Wikipedia has for its pages. Aspects (talk) 12:41, 6 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Los Peloteros edit

A tag has been placed on Los Peloteros requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Telemundo edit

Hello, Mcquicker.

I see that you've reverted my copyedit of that article twice, each time without any clear rationale.

My edit eliminates overlinking (see WP:OVERLINK). "Ángel Ramos" is already linked in the second sentence, and so is "Puerto Rico" (well, "San Juan, Puerto Rico" is). My changes improve the grammar or punctuation, remove redundancies, add a direct link to the FCC, and make the article conform to the manual of style.

I saw that you've edited the article before, as you have others related to it. If so, I can understand why you'd feel that you know the article better than me. But that doesn't mean you're necessarily right or that you're entitled to your version, nor exempt from properly explaining your edits.

I'll await your reply for half an hour, which I think is a resonable amount of time, before I restore my edit.

Si desea, me puede hablar en español.

Thanks. SamEV (talk) 22:42, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

So what version should Wikipedia give readers? Irrelevant changes confuse and do not add any worthwhile information. If you have information that contributes to the overall pool of knowledge, great. Otherwise, some might feel you are meddling and that is never a good thing.

No, I'm not meddling; please mind WP:NPA. Fresh off our cleanup of the Univision article, user Morenooso and I, at least, are trying to improve the Telemundo article. Please see Talk:Telemundo for the problems he identified. You can participate constructively if you wish. You'd be welcome.
For now, your response is unconstructive and I see no reason for keeping your version. SamEV (talk) 23:31, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Mcquicker, you've reverted for the third time. Please read about the three revert rule. It states in part: "The "three-revert rule" ("3RR") is a bright-line rule concerning blatant overuse of reverting, a common kind of edit war behavior. It states that a user who makes more than three revert actions (of any kind) on any one page within a 24-hour period, may be considered to be edit warring, and blocked appropriately, usually for a 24-hour period for a first incident."
Please do not revert again; it would be your 4th and I'll report you to the administrators. You might be blocked. SamEV (talk) 23:55, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

PLEASE = Watch the article against VANDALISM. edit

This biography about Ramon Rivero (Diplo) has been vandalized several times. We need the article locked so it cannot be edited by unauthorized people. Any help in the matter will be greatly appreciated.

Peter Bond

  • Sorry, I was out for some time. I restored the article under "Ramón Rivero (Diplo)". Let's see what happens. Tony the Marine (talk) 19:09, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • On second thought I am going to delete the article and re-write it from scratch in accordance to Wikipedia policy, since it has numerous POV issues. I will do a good job in his honor. Tony the Marine (talk) 01:54, 19 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Peter, no need to worry, I have re-written the article to my and Wiki standards. I will keep it on my watchlist as I have done with my other articles. His legacy deserves to be known by others and I will make sure that no one messes with it. Tell the people at the "Fundacion Ramon Rivero" that I admire all that they have done for Diplo. Tony the Marine (talk) 15:51, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Well Peter, I hope that you and the "Fundacion Ramon Rivero" liked the article. At least tell let me know. Tony the Marine (talk) 20:29, 22 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • You can tell Jose Orbi not to worry and that I'll take care of the well being of the article. Wikipedia has become one of the world's largest source of information, but unfortunately anyone one can edit it. However, I am very watchful over the articles which I write and examine all additioins for the well being and the integrity of my subjects. Too bad that my economic situation does not permit it, but I would have loved to have a copy of "Diplo! ¿Por qué se reía la gente?". Take care my friend. File permission problem with File:New York City 1953, Ramón Rivero at the Stork Club, rrsolo large.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:New York City 1953, Ramón Rivero at the Stork Club, rrsolo large.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:40, 19 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

May 2018 edit

  Hello, I'm Domdeparis. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Walkathon seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Mcquicker. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Ramón Rivero, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Dom from Paris (talk) 14:52, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Mi amigo edit

Thank you for your message. No, I moved with my wife and our families (all 15 of us) to Arizona in 1990. Now, my children grew up and married here. As a result I am stuck with 5 grand-kids (smile). But, let me tell you, even though my grand-kids look Irish (3) and German (2), I have thought them to be proud of their roots and they identify as "Boricuas". The last time that I was in Puerto Rico was when the government sent for me with the intention of publicly paying tribute to me for my work in Wikipedia. Former Bill Clinton was there with his family and participated in the tribute. I will check out your recommendations and make the proper corrections. If you like, look me up in "facebook". Proposed deletion of File:Ramonrivero1.jpg edit

The file File:Ramonrivero1.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 17 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
