New Universal Studios Florida Rumors!

Thanks for the new, Freindly message on my user talk page. I understand you would like me to share info on rumored rides coming to Universal Studios Florida with you. I have recently heard of two new rumored attractions. They are:

King Kong 4-D- Another King Kong attraction (The first being Kongfrontation) This time a 4-D movie, Which Peter Jackson is trying to produce. This attraction may replace Terminator 2: 3-D Battle Across Time.

And,

Woody Woodpecker's Universal Kids Adventure- A motion simulator ride hosted by Woody Woodpecker and his pals, Which may be similar to Universal's other kid-themed simulators, The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera and Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast. This attraction may replace Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast.

If you have any opinions or concerns about these rumors, Feel free to post them on my user talkl page. Also, If you hear any new developments or announcements on these rumored attractions, Free free to tell me, I'll do the same. There may be other rumored attractions out there, So be sure to tell me about them also. Thanks! --Universal Studios Number 1 Fan (talk) 23:19, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Do you think i should post these rumored attractions on Talk: Universal Studios Florida?--Universal Studios Number 1 Fan (talk) 03:34, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Are you still there?

I haven't heard from you in a while, And was hoping you could chat with me about improving the USF article more on my talk page. Are you still on Wikipedia?--Universal Studios Number 1 Fan (talk) 01:16, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Sources for Rumors

It's me again. As for the sources of the rumored attractions, I heard about 'King Kong 4-D' through a forum chat on universalignited.com. As for 'Woody Woodpecker's Universal Kids Adventure', I went on Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast the last time i was at Universal Studios Florida and saw they had closed 2 of the simulator cars, So i asked a ride attendant and he said that they were considering closing it, And that they were preparing concepts for the new ride in the park's sound stages, So that it could replace Jimmy just in case Nickelodeon did not want to start a new contract for the ride when the first one expires in Fall 2008 or 2010. As you may know, Terminator 2: 3-D Battle Across Time replaced How to Make a Mega Movie Deal and Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast replaced The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera, So if Terminator and Jimmy close to get replaced by these rumored attractions, Then that must mean were in the second stage of ride closures/refurbishments at USF. Anyway, Should we post these rumored rides on USF's talk page?--Universal Studios Number 1 Fan (talk) 21:29, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Disaster!: A Major Motion Picture Ride...Starring You!

Hi there again. I was just wondering if you attended Universal Orlando's soft opening of 'Disaster!' because a freind of mine told me some details on it, And i posted a full recount of it on it's Wikipedia page, But i just want to make sure all the info is correct. Please be sure to tell me, As i don't want my edits to be considered vandalisim. Thank You!--Universal Studios Number 1 Fan (talk) 21:29, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Why are you so ignorant?

Do you have access to maps? Do you know how to read maps? None of the Disney parks or Seaworld are in Orlando. Idiot 74.163.223.240 (talk) 18:22, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Disney edit war

Puppet? I thought the same thing, but I didn't go through all of that user's edits to see if there was anything significant to point out or not. The important thing is that *all* the WDW articles have the same/similar intro and those edits all need to be made. Let the main WDWR article contain the info on the city location for the "Orlando Project"; there's no need to indicate city locations for each individual park/hotel/shop on their respective pages. It's Epcot at the WDWR, not Epcot in Bay Lake, just like it's Everest at AK, not Everest in Bay Lake. It really shouldn't be this difficult. SpikeJones (talk) 18:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

I completely agree ... "near Orlando, Florida" should suffice, especially when the Walt Disney World Resort has the property's entire history. It should be noted, and I think you see it this way too, that the park articles are subsidiary to the main resort article. Thus, all the location details should be in the main resort article.
As to whether the user is yet another sock puppet, I'm keeping an eye on the SeaWorld articles, because those got changed at the same time. No changes yet, so that part of the puppeteer's M.O. hasn't surfaced yet.

I believe you and I are on the same page with this. No need to make the park/attraction pages more complicated than they need to be. I think I'll go and take apart one or two more to see what happens. SpikeJones (talk) 21:49, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes, it started up minutes after the CFD was processed around 10:30ET. various administrators are aware, so we'll do what we can to clean up. Perhaps we should request semi-protection? That would be interesting... SpikeJones (talk) 18:10, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I believe so, which is why it might be a good idea. SpikeJones (talk) 18:13, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Be aware of two separate discussions taking place on WP:AN/I regarding this user: here and here. At this point, I think reverting his or her edits and category changes again and again is adding to the perceptions of some administrators that this is a petty content dispute or edit war—and that all users involved are equally at fault. It might be more effective to explain your position in those discussions and hope an administrator will understand and take action. —Whoville (talk) 01:49, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Reply

Oh, you are welcome! I have been reviewing the sock puppet's edit log and reverting everything I can that is incorrect. I cannot understand why someone would be so childish, hateful, and vindictive towards people whom are attempting to keep Wikipedia articles accurate. As a team, I hope we can overcome this individual to the point that he/she will become bored and leave the articles alone! SWF Trainer (talk) 17:45, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Man, I am exhausted from all these reverts! Something needs to be done, in order to stop this individual. Once we revert his/her edits, this person immediately reverts our correct edits. SWF Trainer (talk) 18:58, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I read that semi-protect idea in a reply you wrote to another user! I hope that works, especially since this person is altering each ride within Walt Disney World articles. That is ridiculous and way too technical! I am surprised this person has not even want as far as dividing which area of the Disney properties are located within Orange and Osceola counties. This edit war is unjustifiable and needs to stop. I kept up with the user for a couple of hours today, in which he/she would even immediately revert the vandalism I removed from my talk page. Afterwards, he/she started personally attacking me - while I kept my cool. I hope and pray that my personal comments have had some affect and made a difference. Nonetheless, I think it will be a great idea to semi-protect all of the pages that this user is altering. It will at least cut down on our work!SWF Trainer (talk) 21:15, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
The sock puppet is at it again with IP 74.225.49.243. Soemthing needs to be done about this and fast! SWF Trainer (talk) 23:48, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
He's on Sock Puppet #13 now ... I think higher-ups are starting to get the picture. Do yourself a favor, and read up on Wikipedia:3RR. If challenged on it, you should have cover because you are reverting edits made by a blocked user who is using sock puppets to evade the block. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 23:51, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Miamiboyzinhere up to his old tricks again

Miamiboyzinhere is up to his old tricks again at Splendid China (Florida), need help to stop him from edit warring please. Momusufan (talk) 21:40, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

  • He's now violating WP:3RR, I don't want to go on with this and feed the flames towards him. Momusufan (talk) 21:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
  • I reported him to WP:AIV because now he is wikistalking me at my talk page. Momusufan (talk) 21:47, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
  • I need someone to block him, I need to stop the wikistalking at my talk page. Momusufan (talk) 21:53, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
The interesting thing is that he did the right thing by bringing it up as a discussion item on the talk page first. Unfortunately, he didn't like the response he got and decided to edit anyway. Let Whoville know. SpikeJones (talk) 22:01, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
He's blocked for 2 weeks [1] because of my AIV report. Momusufan (talk) 22:08, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Why do the Las Vegas area casinos say they are in Paradise, Nevada?

If that is the guideline then why don't the Orlando resorts state the specific city that they are in? 74.163.224.123 (talk) 18:58, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

If you look at the category Category:Casinos_in_Las_Vegas, you'll see that regardless of the casino's mailing address, they're still listed as being in Las Vegas for sake of the category. If this is not what you are looking for, then you will need to be more specific with your question. I also recommend that if you have a specific question that it is better to ask it on a single appropriate page rather than to post the same question on multiple user's talk pages. SpikeJones (talk) 19:02, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Next time read the question. I didn't ask about a category. Read the 1st sentence in all the Las Vegas area casinos articles, they all say in Paradise, Nevada. 74.163.224.123 (talk) 19:06, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

The IP appears to be another User:Miamiboyzinhere sock evading his block. Momusufan (talk) 19:14, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Perhaps; I've focused the discussion on the WDWResort page rather than get it all riled up everywhere. SpikeJones (talk) 19:18, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Requests for reassessment

Hey there McDoob, those articles are easily above stub class - with proper referencing they'd be B class definitely! :) As for reassessing them, feel free to do so as and when you feel it reaches a certain class. Keep up the good work on the articles, do let me know if you have any others you want me to take a look at. Seaserpent85 16:45, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Project Rumble

Hi There. I've seen you've contributed a lot recently to the Project Rumble article. I've just found quite many new documents which Universal faxed to Orange County and there all posted on it's official website. Screamscape has links to all the documents, so i've posted a link to the page on Talk: Project Rumble and i wanted to check with you if these documents could be mentioned in the article. Please send me a message after you've checked it out (I like messages). Thanks!--Snowman Guy (talk) 13:26, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

I read your message. I understand, However, the Project Rumble article currently states that the first permit filed is the only one. Would you mind correcting this please? Thanks!--Snowman Guy (talk) 22:15, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

The Simpsons Ride

Hi. As you have noted on The Simpsons Ride's talk page, there had been a recent edit war going on, but recently a story from the british newspaper The Sun had been used as a reference on the article, stating a May opening. However, i believe we should wait until Universal itself has announced an opening date (currently only Spring) until it should be posted in the article. I have posted my reasond on the ride's talk page. Thank You.--Snowman Guy (talk) 01:19, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Now we have another source confirming a May opening- USA Today. A user has posted the links to the story on Simpsons Ride's talk page. Tell me what you think. Thanks!--Snowman Guy (talk) 13:30, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
On the talk page, are you referring to the Krustyland photo which is disputed? If so, I would very much like you to upload it to end the controversy.--Snowman Guy (talk) 15:07, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
I've now posted links to new verifiable details on the rides talk page. Tell me what you think. In addition, I've also created seperate infoboxes for each ride, but they may need some clean-up.--Snowman Guy (talk) 22:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Scorpion know says he highly dislikes two seperate infoboxes and has reverted them.--Snowman Guy (talk) 22:08, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Screamscape.com has reported the employee preview will take place 4/21 and 4/22. Is there a verifiable source out there we can use for this?--Snowman Guy (talk) 20:38, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Screamscape is now confirming the Hollywood ride has begun soft openings here. Any reliable sources we can use?--Snowman Guy (talk) 13:28, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Universal ride articles

I've been working on building up many of the Universal ride articles recently and have added Amusement Park Project templates to each one and was wondering; Do you know which type of editors are supposed to give them a quality and importance rating? If any editor could do this, would you mind rating the ones which haven't been rated yet? And, would you know where i could find any photos of the entrances to Universal Studios Studio Tour (Florida), How to Make a Mega Movie Deal and Murder, She Wrote Mystery Theatre. Thanks.--Snowman Guy (talk) 17:11, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Also, any suggestions on getting the USF articles to GA quality?--Snowman Guy (talk) 02:09, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
It seems to be very tough to bring pop-culture articles to GA quality, simply because, in many cases, there is very little supporting documentation. What we would need would be a lot of historical research. For example, a lot of articles from the Orlando Sentinel or other area newspapers detailing the attractions. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 02:34, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
The first article I will try to start improvement on will be Kongfrontation. Before I begin improvement though, what quality would you say the article is already on?--Snowman Guy (talk) 03:33, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Do you think The Simpsons Ride article is ready for a GA nomination?--Snowman Guy (talk) 02:22, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Before we start the GA process, they are apparantly more "Other atrractions" at the Hollywood, namely facades of Comic Book Guy's shop and Moe's Tavern on the side of the Kwik-E-Mart gift shop. Any reliable sources we an use?--Snowman Guy (talk) 23:51, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Almost all of the images on Universal ride articles have been deleted by User: Melesse.--Snowman Guy (talk) 20:24, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

I've nominate Simpsons Ride for GA quality, as it seems to have enough potential. What is the best way to contact the administrators for an article review?--Snowman Guy (talk) 02:42, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

About Asia

Well, there was a DinoLand U.S.A Article, so i figured to make some articles on other zones. I was still working on it anyway.. Dinoman96 (talk) 01:53, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

I hate to bring it up, but...

take a look at the boundary line on this map. Technically, it *does* fall outside the line... yet it's still considered a part from the business angle. Does the main location section need to be updated to include various outliers like this? SpikeJones (talk) 04:39, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I did ... it lies within the northwest quadrant of the interchange of I-4 and US 192, something Disney has owned and controlled almost since day 1. It lies within the boundaries of the Reedy Creek Improvement District, another sign that it's on Disney-owned and Disney-controlled property. A few days ago, I did modify the location subhead in the WDWR article to mention that WWoS and the All-Star Resorts were located in Osceola County, something that is not in question. This edit war (which even I got warned about) is again about how one editor wants things to be listed when a group of editors has already established how that will be discussed. If you read Simon's posts, he says WWoS lies some 15 minutes away from the resort, which is patently not true. While WWoS is in Osceola County, it is still well within WDW's borders. Hopefully this can be resolved peacefully, going forward ... but somehow I doubt it. McDoobAU93 (talk) 12:09, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

If you have a newspaper article source that makes the connection, that is fine. Without having some reliable third party source, it seemed as if it were simply a marketing gimmik.-- The Red Pen of Doom 21:40, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Sources for Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit

Do you know of any recent reliable sources which can be added to the sections I've tagged in the "Rockit" article?--Snowman Guy (talk) 17:06, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

ice

the edits were stylistically inconsistent with they way similar info is presented elsewhere. The sections in question are not intended to be descriptions of the rides, so there is no need to make them complete sentences. There is nothing wrong with "item. description of item" format. idol chatter

I have seen the press invite for Feb 12th, so the Feb 14th date is within reason for the opening... just waiting for something online that is citable beyond the rumors that exploded over the weekend. SpikeJones (talk) 18:45, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Not unlike the rumored bulldozing of the Norway pavilion that got added into Wikipedia and then made its way onto fan sites all over the web. But at least the AIX rumor seems to be more grounded in fact. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 19:58, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
well, they did bulldoze the norway ship/play area... SpikeJones (talk) 20:23, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
That they did ... this edit said they were gonna raze the whole kit and kaboodle. It's been edited in twice, and reverted twice. Again, no citations. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 21:42, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
