Hi Mathiastck, Hope you remember me, I am Harishankar from Smackall.com, mobile game developer. We met long ago when I was writing articles about multiplayer mobile games. Just wanted to say hi, and how are you these days.. codetiger 14:25, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Redirect of Jbenchmark edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Jbenchmark, by Closedmouth (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Jbenchmark is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Jbenchmark, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Comments or Feedback on Barcode Systems edit

Hi,

I am currently working to expand the stub that was about barcode systems here on Wikipedia. A big part of a barcode system are the mobile computers and software that runs on them. I noticed you had contributed to several articles related to mobile computers. If you had the time and would review and comment on the barcode systems article I'm am currently working on it would be greatly appreciated.

Operating context edit

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Operating context, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 23:14, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! I like this bot. Very friendly for new users. Mathiastck (talk) 23:41, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the note on my talk page. I have just looked at your improvements and they look fine to me. Just to explain why I put Prod on, I was patrolling the new pages and I was cheerfully putting speedy deletion tags on the nonsense pages when I found yours. On the one hand it didn't have enough content to justify an article and I couldn't really understand it. On the other hand it was about a real subject and I was unsure if you were going to come back and add more information. I didn't want it to sit and fester but I didn't want to speedy delete it unfairly either. Putting Prod on was my way to ensure that it either got improved within 5 days or it got deleted. I know this isn't what Prod is really meant for but it worked. ;-) --DanielRigal (talk) 23:48, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate the insight into the process. I'm a strong inclusionist myself. I think wikipedia IS a directory, for example, which it explictiy states it is not. I consider an encyclopedia to be a subset of a directory though. I dislike that there is a burden of proof of notability on the person creating the article. People also seem to blur the line between "this article isn't good enough, so I'm deleting it", "this article isn't long enough, so I'm deleting it" and "this article isn't notable enough, so I'm deleting it." CfD nomination of Category:Wireless edit

Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. Leo Laursen ( T ¦ C ) 08:38, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Mathiastck. Looking at eg. Category:Mobile telephony, it makes sense to me that it is in those 3 categories. I propose that Category:Wireless and Category:Mobile coexists at the same level. How do You like that idea? – Leo Laursen –   13:01, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
That's totally fine with me. I'd like to hear a few more voices weigh in. I found Motorola's glossary of terms, but it was pretty antiquated. To them Mobile Phone primarily meant car phone. The problem is that a lot of branding and marketing was thrown at each of these terms. I need to reread the current articles for wireless and mobile phone and compare them again. Cell phone now redirects to mobile phone. I think no matter what we do now there will be scores of articles, at least one for each countries major cell phone and telecomunications carriers or OEM's, that belong in category wireless, mobile, telecommunicatons, and likely even the mobile telephony page. I have a distaste for the term telephony, and for advanced telephony even more, but that's mainly a bias of mine. Mathiastck (talk) 19:10, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Here is a good example. Should CTIA, or the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association, (known for it's conventions), be listed in the Mobile, Wireless, or Cellular, category? Should it be a Trade show or a Convention? Mathiastck (talk) 21:02, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'd say Wireless, Category:Telecommunication conferences, Category:Telecommunications organizations, Category:Technology trade associations and Category:Organizations based in Washington, D.C. But I only just skimmed over the article; then again, more knowledge sometimes complicates things. – Leo Laursen –   11:15, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

This message is a test to check to see if members of the Warhammer 40K Project are still online, active and interested in helping the project. If you are no longer interested in the project all you need to do is...nothing! If you don't respond to this I'll take your name off the list and you'll never here from us again. If you're the proactive type you can remove the name yourself or talk to me and I'll do it.

If you are still interested in helping out the 40K project or otherwise still want to be listed there you can say so in response to this message on your talk page or on mine. Alternately you can add our new userbox ({{User WikiProject Warhammer 40,000}}) to your userpage and I'll take that as a response. The userpage doesn't automatically include people in a category of members yet, but it might in the future.

We've assessed most of the articles in the project on the Version 1.0 assessment scale (the table on the project page should take a few days to update) but we need to push to get the core articles in the project up to GA status. Thanks for all your help. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help the project along. Protonk (talk) 21:01, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Space wolves edit

A tag has been placed on Space wolves requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

Creation of Android (operating system edit

Hey there, I saw you created Android (operating system about a month ago - just wondering what your intent or rationale was? I can't really think of a use for it, yet it has gotten some significant (albeit decreasingly so) viewage this month so I figured I'd ask before going to WP:RfD. ~ Amory (utc) 17:08, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Um ok I just replied here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2010_January_2#Android_.28operating_system

but you really help prove my point. IT IS SEEING SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC. I was probably lead there by the same method that those people got lead there, and we all expected to be lead to the page that I set up the redirect to go to. It sure felt like I was improving wikipedia.

Honestly I don't understand the "I can't think of a use so I nominate for deletion" mentality, I think that's why I'm an inclusionist. Mathiastck (talk) 11:03, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I was suprised to find few of the Android market company's/applications/websites listed on wikipedia. GetJar isn't up because it got locked... Mathiastck (talk) 23:11, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ok so I put a page up at User:Mathiastck/GetJar that is similar to the old page that got deleted, but seems much more encyclopedic to me. It's a work in progress. If GetJar was unprotected right now I wouldn't drop in this work in progress, I would just have GetJar redirect to List_of_digital_distribution_platforms_for_mobile_devices. Mathiastck (talk) 01:35, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

GetJar edit

The article was created twice; the first time as a blatant copy of the company's own webpage, the second time as shameless promotion. After the second deletion, User:Mjroots salted it as "Repeatedly recreated". I would not have done that, as I generally only salt after two or more recreations of deletion-worthy articles with the same name. You should talk to Mjroots. --Orange Mike | Talk 23:12, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm prepared to unsalt the page if you would like. Are you proposing to create a new article which meets all relevant Wikipedia policies? Mjroots (talk) 10:07, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I really don't know where I'm supposed to reply to this, so I'll double reply :)

I plan to make GetJar redirect to List_of_digital_distribution_platforms_for_mobile_devices. But that's really a temporary fallback position. Here is my draft for what I will replace the redirect with User:Mathiastck/GetJar. Mathiastck (talk) 18:46, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

To answer more plainly, yes I propose to create a new article that meets all relevant Wikipedia policies. I was not previously involved, but when I twittered that I was gonna have to try and create the page they did contact me. Speedy deletion nomination of GetJar edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on GetJar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Dirty po edit

The redirects at in order to prove a contradiction and for the purpose of argument fell, in my view, unequivocally under the scope of {{db-redirtypo}}: redirects on titles which are unlikely to be used as search terms. To create them purely for use in this talk page message looks to me like a misuse of Wikipedia. Did you really need links - both words are well enough understood anyway. And if you must have links, piping the links thus would actually have been less work than creating redirects! — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:28, 31 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

They are unlikely to be used because people delete redirects of that kind. I had hoped they would have already existed. Mathiastck (talk) 20:04, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I'm very much an Inclusionist. I'm not gonna fight consensus, but you'll find it hard to convince me that wikipedia wouldn't be better with a lot more redirects. What is the harm? I am in favor of deleting misleading redirects, but I don't think that is the case here. Mathiastck (talk) 20:46, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Walter Leslie Wilmshurst. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:05, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Kishonti Informatics edit

The article Kishonti Informatics has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged "unreferenced" for over two years, mostly market-fluff without actual evidence of notability. The claimed key technologies and products all appear to be redirects back to this same page.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DMacks (talk) 09:32, 6 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Third opinion with disruptive editor at Slavery in modern Africa edit

I have never request a 3rd opinion so I hope this works out as an alternative. There is an ip editor User talk:46.7.72.149 who I also believe goes by another ip 79.97.171.208. Has been requested not to add original research into the article and to use the talk page to discuss the edits. Without bringing any justification. I thought i made a break through as they continued to the talk Page, but still disrupted the page by engaging in an edit war. Stopping development on the poorly developed page. The WP:DE editor has undone several other non-related changes in the process of not getting the point on a single sentence which is a violation of NPOV. They are trying to single out Sudan as a peculiarity for slavery and its leadership allowing it to continue. Pure synthesis. No reference, no balance, but they are forcing it backinto the article in the name of background info. The lede already explains the illegality of slavery, and its continuation despite being illegal everywhere.--Halqh حَلَقَة הלכהሐላቃህ (talk) 08:43, 7 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of TestTrack Pro edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on TestTrack Pro requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Proposed deletion of TestTrack Pro edit

The article TestTrack Pro has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable company in Wikipedia terms. I fully understand that the product and company are well-respected in the world of testing and software development, but no third-party sources to back that up.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AFD edit

Hello, I have recently come back to Wikipedia after a break and have been lurking around the AFD board in the last couple of days. I came across you in the list of members of Wikiproject Deletion which appears to be inactive. It seems to me that deletion is a bit overzealous in some cases where the article simply needs some improvements. My view is that the onus should be on the nominator/supporters of deletion to show that the article should be deleted, not the opposite way round it is now where someone can just say "not notable" without explaining why and still get the article deleted. Are there any other groups/projects which are involved in deletion discussions? I am still pretty new to wikipedia but keen to participate in something to improve promising starts before they get deleted, and a bit of guidance from a project would be good.Acb314 (talk) 10:51, 29 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I think I agree with your sentiment, but I don't have much guidance for you, I am not a very active editor. Basically all my contributions are to add missing redirects. Participating in AFD discussions is probably the best way to participate. As to changing wiki policy, that's pretty tough, but there are policy discussion pages, and the talk pages for policy pages are a pretty good option. I consider myself an Inclusionist, you may want to check out Deletionism_and_inclusionism_in_Wikipedia. Mathiastck (talk) 18:50, 30 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Archein edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Archein requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Proposed deletion of Mobizzo edit

The article Mobizzo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable company; lacks significant coverage in independent reliable sources, failing WP:ORG / WP:GNG. All references here are directly related to company like official websites/company press releases.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Wikipedical (talk) 15:24, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
