Your AWB feature request edit

Hi. Just letting you know that the feature you requested has been added in the next release. Jogers (talk) 22:00, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for this. As I see 4.1.1.0 makes strange pages skipping when it is not desired. Have you already seen this? Mashiah 01:13, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, I haven't. Could you provide a specific example so I can duplicate this behaviour? Jogers (talk) 09:44, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I is hard to understand the reason. I have a number of setting files, some of them remove templates from pages and others prepend articles with other templates or replace one template by another. Both types were working ok until some moment and after that I cannot prepend articles getting "No changes. Press the "Ignore" button below to skip to the next page." In this case AWB has to set a template or replace one by another, and instead of this, it removes the old template and does not insert anything. Maybe something wrong with articles skipping mechanism, because I am sure it cannot skip articles by two reasons: 1. it worked before and 2. I just use prepend feature and no skipping is enabled in this case. Mashiah 11:11, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Do you remember the last time it worked properly? Jogers (talk) 11:18, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I mean it worked in 4.1.0.0, right? I think I know what may be the problem. It would be extremely helpful if you could send me your settings by e-mail and tell me exactly what to do to duplicate this problem. Jogers (talk) 15:12, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
First improper edit was here. It had to replace {{изолированная статья|сирота1}} by {{изолированная статья|кластер2}}, but it just removed first and did not put the second one. After that, when I tried to put it again it told me "No changes. Press the "Ignore" button below to skip to the next page." Maybe it did not recognize from the settings file the prepending task enabled. But the most interesting fact is that the same was working with the same version of AWB here (I use 4.1.1.0 because I cannot build the latest AWB at home). Mashiah 15:22, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
How exactly do you replace {{изолированная статья|сирота1}} with {{изолированная статья|кластер2}}? Do you somehow mix the "find and replace" with text prepending to accomplish a desired task? The order of execution has recently been changed so "find and replace" is performed after the text is prepended/appended. Jogers (talk) 15:41, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
The order, of course may influence this. Yes, I'm doing the mix. But why it does not prepend now? Maybe it is better to send the settings file? Where to put? Mashiah 16:50, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Anywhere in yours userspace. Sandbox for example? Jogers (talk) 16:56, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Done. This is just an example. I have up to 50 similar settings files. Mashiah 17:09, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
OK, I will look into it. Jogers (talk) 17:22, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The first regex in the settings you provided removes the {{изолированная статья|кластер2}} template after it is prepended. I've changed the execution order again in rev 1698 so it will work in the next release. Jogers (talk) 12:14, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you a lot. That's why I told the order is significant and it cannot be simply changed. Anyway, thank you again for your attention and solutions. Mashiah 20:46, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome. Thank you for helping make AWB better. Please let me know in case you have more feature requests or bug reports. Regards, Jogers (talk) 22:42, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: AWB updater failure edit

Thank you for your bug report. We are aware of this particular problem but we were not able to find a solution yet. Regards, Jogers (talk) 21:57, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

By the way, your report is very helpful. The problem has been reported by several users but nobody bothered to say that it happens when you decline the upgrade offer :-) As we are now able to duplicate the bug hopefully it will be fixed soon. Jogers (talk) 22:03, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually, it should already be fixed. Thanks a lot! Jogers (talk) 22:08, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: Use X newline characters edit

I think it should be saved in the setting file just like everything else. I simply forgot about this. It will be fixed in the next release. Regards, Jogers (talk) 20:43, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fixed in rev 1726. Jogers (talk) 13:29, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
It is pleasure to work with you. =) Mashiah 16:02, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
And vice versa :-) Jogers (talk) 17:16, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
