Block test

I'm unsure if I did anything wrong, outside of my second block summary. I blocked the test account twice to see if I had to unblock in order to reset for block evasion. Did I miss something else? AniMate 23:09, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

The block reason was VOA (vandalism only account) which should be indef, but you blocked for 3 hours. I didn't realise that it was the new admin school account, so I came to have a look what was going on there. So I dropped you a line just in case you missed that, or some of the options in the block menu. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 23:12, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Out of curiosity, did the second block reset the test account's block clock or would I have to unblock and reblock to reset for evasion? AniMate 23:20, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
A reblock should reset the blocking period. I've been away for a while, and just came back. One used to have to unblock and reblock for new settings to work, but it was impossible to put on a new block while the other block hadn't expired. So it comes down to "not really sure". I think there was a recent change to allow block lengthening w/o unblocking. —Wknight94 (talk) 00:43, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks to both of you. AniMate 00:56, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for that, silly mistake for me to make. Regards, Guest9999 (talk) 20:00, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for blocking this guy. He was on a rampage and I was keen to see an admin block him. - Richard Cavell (talk) 23:19, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Special:newpages gave it away. No worries. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 23:20, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
