Draft:Corey Johnson edit

Essentially the article needs to satisfy at least one of the criteria of WP:MUSICBIO. In accordance with WP:ANYBIO you will need to demonstrate that there is significant coverage (not merely mentions in passing) contained with multiple independent secondary sources. The information contained within the article needs to be able to be verified with separate references citing reliable sources. Wikipedia itself is not an acceptable or reliable source, neither is IMDb or YouTube. I hope that clarifies what I meant. Dan arndt (talk) 08:51, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Corey Johnson (music producer) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Corey Johnson (music producer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The article was vandalised and i have reverted it to before it was vandalised Marquis Newell (talk) 21:39, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Marquis, you have removed CSD tags before. Continuing to do so is considered disruptive and can lead to your account being blocked. I did not vandalize the article. The term vandalism as a specific meaning and stating someone has vandalized when they have not can be considered an attack, which is also blockable. I am taking this instance that way as I do not believe you meant it as an attack, just a misunderstanding. I will also leave you some additional guidance about navigating conflict of interest. S0091 (talk) 21:45, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I meant somebody removed almost everything from the page when i had a few paragraphs with references but they were removed and then it made the article look irrelevant. Please can you take a look at the article and tell me what is wrong woth it in its current state. Marquis Newell (talk) 21:53, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I am the editor that removed content and I explained why on the talk page. Please know I have looked for other sources but have been unable to find anything provides in-depth independent coverage of Johnson. S0091 (talk) 21:58, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I see you restored it with your content but also included the CSD tag. No issue with that right now as that will allow the admin to review it as you had it. However, do please note that several of the sources are not reliable. If the article stays, those sources and the content attributed to them will still need to be removed but an issue for later. I will take a look at what you provided above. Also, what is your relationship to Corey Johnson? It is required that you disclose as stated below. S0091 (talk) 22:11, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Actually, please post to same on the article's talk page and I will respond there. S0091 (talk) 22:15, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Defenders Ent moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Defenders Ent, is not suitable as written to remain published, as it doesn't have enough sources to demonstrate its notability. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption, to help give you time to demonstrate the subject's notability. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. edit

Hello Marquis Newell. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Marquis Newell. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Marquis Newell|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 13:57, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I look up to Corey Johnson and I am not being paid or compensated for my time in any way Marquis Newell (talk) 14:11, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

What is your connection with Defenders Ent? 331dot (talk) 14:13, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

They Published music from many artists including One Dance by Drake and their CEO needs recognition as Mr Johnson was a songwriter of one dance and has many notable achievements, however, I do not know them personally. I just aspire to be like Mr Johnson someday. Marquis Newell (talk) 14:18, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Draft:Defenders Ent edit

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Draft:Defenders Ent has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 331dot (talk) 15:51, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
