Hi. Thanks for the reply. Glad to see you care. Now, there are multiple issues:

First, please put your new messages at the bottom of talk pages, not top. The "New topic" button should help you. (Normally, people reply in their own talk pages, indenting the reply with ":" colon sign.) Also, please sign your messages by putting ~~~~ at the very end. (You can see my talk page again to see how it would look.)

Second, you updated the picture yes, but did you even look at the result? It was a tiny image the size of a stamp covered by various borders and other obstructions. So, no, it was no constructive. Like I said, please preview your edit. In addition, we do not upload screenshots of beta software except for certain exceptional circumstances.

Third, the image you have uploaded is deleted because of copyright violation. I am not sure if the NetBeans team wanted their intellectual properties infringed. Please include an appropriate copyright tag, attribute the creator if it is a must and specify a source for your image.

Fourth, what you specified in the "genre" field was not genre. It was the specialty; it was a description of what it does. The genre is Integrated Development Environment.

Fifth, you changed a service link with a blog link. Now, that baffles me. Why would you do that?

Lisa, Responding to your points about NetBeans page:-

1 - thank-you for advice.

2 - I did actually upload the image via the file tool and preview it. I noticed it was blurred but wanted to discuss with the NetBeans team and community what they thought first as to whether they wanted detail or not. The software is not beta and now at RC1 so about to be released. Please would you link to where Wikipedia lists criteria on what criteria to use on updating images of software (Netbeans is actually 15 years old and has numerous stable releases out).

3 - I forwarded the email to you from the NetBeans team asking for a volunteer to update it (and it is replacing a previous older NetBeans image). If will change the tags and use the hires version, will you stop deleting it?

4 - I will leave the image for the moment as that seems to be your biggest concern. I will leave the type and see if there is a better type to suggest as NetBeans is no longer just a Java IDE.

5 - I deleted a link which points to a non-existent company and page (and now links to a generic sales page at Oracle) and added a link to the main NetBeans blogger who posts a NetBeans related article every day. I also posted an email on the NetBeans community list to see if we could come up with any more appropriate links.

6 - You have removed my JavaScript comment in the JavaScript section which updates the article and links to the new technology used.

2. Release candidates are the same. The rule is: The screenshot must represent what most people see and get. Most people download RTM or other stable versions. But that's no much of a concern when article actually shows something. The trouble is, after your edit, there was nothing to see there, unless one had a microscope.

3. First, I don't have deletion rights. I can only tag an image for admin attention. Second, your upload did not have correct licensing info. You had introduced yourself as the owner of the NetBeans and claimed that it is licensed under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 3.0 (CC-BY-SA 3.0). I knew that was wrong but I didn't know what is right. I knew Oracle was the creator (not you) but I had no mean of knowing what should replace the CC-BY-SA 3.0 claim. I didn't know whether an unreleased product is under the same CDDL license as its released ones. So, no fix was possible.

You can study the help page for information about copyright and licensing. You can visit the existing image to get yourself started.

4. Yes, it is an IDE for Java, C, PHP, HTML5, etc. But it is still an IDE, right?

5. Oh, okay. Now that you are explaining it, it makes sense. (You should really put that in your edit summary.) You can put the edit back now. Oh, and I found that the dead link is now at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/downloads/index.html.

6. Oh, I forgot this edit. Your edit didn't have a source. That's why I deleted it. There was also another problem: The meaning of "Current version" changes as the time passes. According to WP:DATED, you should specify a version number instead. If you had provided a source, I'd have fixed it instead of removing it.

Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Markee174. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Idrsolutions, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

I wrote on the subject as the most knowledgeable person on the subject but attempted to write it in a neutral and unbiased way. I looked at multiple other pages on the wikipedia including the 2 I listed (and used Accusoft as a template because it had no negative items at top of page. If you look at my Wikipedia history you will see I have also contributed to the NetBeans entry and local Kent entries. Markee174 (talk) 16:18, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

"Please discuss further on the talk page." The article is heavily based on the style used by other wiki pages and written because an increasing number of people we meet at community events are asking about IDRsolutions. So it seemed a natural move to add a wiki page on the subject which the community can reference. How can we make it more neutral? Markee174 (talk) 16:31, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

If people are asking you about your company why don't you direct them to your own website? If your company becomes notable somebody will create the article. Bazj (talk) 17:05, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

The IText, Accusoft, Pdftron, etc wikipedia entries were all created by those companies so Wikipedia is not being consistent in its rules.

There actually quite a few references to IDRsolutions already on wikipedia. I did a search and found that some of them were links to PDF documents converted using our free converter and linked (ie https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bearing_(mechanical)) as these are not permanent I have deleted them as the links will no longer exist. and these dead links had not been noticed by you. If those articles look like advertising then, for the good of Wikipedia, nominate them for deletion. The CSD class for that is G11. I'm no more your secretary than Wikipedia is your advertising bureau. Bazj (talk) 18:57, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
