Regarding New Orleans Bounty Scandal edit

There is already a listing of scandals ending in -gate I believe. It is therefore nonsensical to add deflate gate to the list, as it is already covered. k_scheik (talk) 23:48, 26 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Panspermia edit

Please do not attempt to lecture me on the 3RR rules. I have edited Wikipedia long enough to be aware of Wikipedia conventions. I merely pointed-out that your last edits did not contain a reliable source, which Wikipedia rightly insists on. I note that you are a relatively new editor and you would do well to abide by the conventions of the encyclopedia. Experienced editors are here to help, but will not stand by when sources are not given or unreliable. Case closed. David J Johnson (talk) 23:46, 9 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Recent edit to Optoutprescreen.com edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Optoutprescreen.com, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! - Cwobeel (talk) 03:55, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

November 2015 edit

Your recent editing history at KIC 8462852 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. --Guy Macon (talk) 16:21, 11 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

March 2020 edit

Hello, I'm Eagles247. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Josh Norman, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Eagles 24/7 (C) 21:55, 9 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Josh Norman, you may be blocked from editing. Eagles 24/7 (C) 21:59, 9 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. --Eagles 24/7 (C) 01:12, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Acroterion (talk) 03:31, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

unblock review edit

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Mapsfly (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

User that blocked me states clearly I am not here to build a better encyclopedia, they stated 2 instances of me deleting, which I agree should not have, and if I'm unsure it violates opinions, will not delete in the future. They do not show hundreds of helpful edits that do clearly build this encyclopedia for many years. Even if there was a block, they chose indefinitely? Also that was not even the reason I was brought up on the Admin board. Almost as if they had to scour for something to block me on indefinitely

Decline reason:

Although the discussion is not yet complete, WP:ANI consensus is uniformly of the opinion that your edits are generally inappropriate. This isn't a case of just two instances, this is a long-term pattern of disruption. Yamla (talk) 11:24, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

We all agree including myself that there are very few edits that can be deemed inappropriate. But there are overwhelmingly more edits that are helpful. This is my entire premise. Any chance you think a shorter block or unblock would narrow my edits to all helpful? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mapsfly (talkcontribs)

That's not how the thread on WP:ANI is playing out. Instead, the opposite appears to be the case. Many or most of your edits (at least, all of the edits under discussion) are inappropriate. There's no consensus whatsoever that "very few edits that can be deemed inappropriate". Indeed, if that was the case, nobody would have been pushing for a block under WP:NOTHERE. --Yamla (talk) 12:23, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
It is beyond doubt and again my entire premise that most of my edits are helpful, so Yamla that is just simply not true and I vehemently refute what you are saying. It is actually impossible to not agree that most of my edits are helpful. please go through all of my edits. You are talking about just the edits brought up in the admin board.

You are acting like all of my edits for years are the ones being discussed on the board. Its a few, I have hundreds of edits.--Mapsfly (talk) 12:54, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

You are free to make that case in a new unblock request. I have already reviewed your block and found your unblock request unconvincing, but another admin will review your next unblock request. I do strongly suggest addressing the multiple concerns raised in the WP:ANI thread, though. --Yamla (talk) 13:02, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think indefinite was an awfully long block but you have to explain why you would post this edit to the talk page of an administrator and why you edit warred on Josh Norman. It is also incorrect to edit a guideline page to suit your own disposition. Policy and guideline changes must be first discussed on talk pages. Liz Read! Talk! 22:21, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

As I've told Liz, I regard this block as indefinite in the literal sense rather than the infinite sense, and I'm prepared to change the term if you can assure us that you are going to respect policy - your post at RSN appeared to be a declaration to disrupt to suit your own purposes. Acroterion (talk) 23:54, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Liz, there was no good reason, got out of line for a short period of time.

Acroterion, I am prepared to resume normal editing behavior only for the benefit of Wikipedia if unblocked.--Mapsfly (talk) 22:11, 11 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think you'll need to address Yamla's note as well, rather than concentrating on a short period. Otherwise, I'm prepared to unblock if you can give assurance that this will not recur. Acroterion (talk) 00:06, 12 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yamala, Over a longer period of time, not just recently, bad faith edits have been apparent, even though they are mixed in with many good faith edits. Any bad faith edits will be zero going forward.--Mapsfly (talk) 11:10, 12 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Since I noticed you had edited, I'm inclined go go ahead and unblocked based on your responses above, without inpiut from Yamla. Doing so now. Acroterion (talk) 03:15, 24 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Acroterion.--Mapsfly (talk) 03:20, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
