Say what now?

The assumption of bad faith in this closing statement is both childish and ironic. The nominator has a track record that includes dozens (and dozens) of bad-faith nominations based on (by her own account) years-old notability tags and zero regard for WP:BEFORE. That you think my pointing that out is the problem (and the example of bad faith there) is laughable. Stlwart111 05:25, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

Ey up, have you heard of 'multi-tasking' or "here’s one I prepared earlier”? 'Assume good faith' is a longstanding, fundamental principle of Wikipedia. I saw none of that in your comments, which ended in an implicit threat of a block. And I ignored them as it did not address the article. You were ignored. If you make a habit of those kind of comments, it wouldn’t surprised me if someone was compiling a list of diffs. Just stop it. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 15:43, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
They have acknowledged that isn't the case and have refused to defend any of their nominations where that was clearly not the case. They have explained their (incredibly flawed) process and have since essentially stopped nominating via that process, reducing the need for a block to prevent disruption. But I absolutely threatened a block per WP:DE. I'll keep making those comments as long as editors like that keep disrupting the project. Diffs are definitely being collected. When even the editor in question won't defend their own behaviour, your aspersions about good faith are misdirected. Stlwart111 04:29, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Thanks, and XL5??

Thanks so much for the IP block - they were getting to be a mild pain. Erm ... XL5 as in Fireball XL5??? Or have I missed the memo? Cheers DBaK (talk) 08:34, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

Haha! You’re the first person to make that connection and you’re right! Fireball XL5 popped into my head when I wanted some random characters to tag onto my username. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 09:12, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
Brilliant ... it is because I am ooooooold, I suspect. I did rather love it on first broadcast. My older brother had the ?Airfix plastic kit, which was very fine indeed. Eventually the friction joint between the nose and the main section wore out so it wouldn't lock in any more, but it was great while it lasted! Cheers DBaK (talk) 22:59, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

Another hoax list request

Hello! :) This is regarding the recently deleted article Malkiel (comics) (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Malkiel (comics)). You closed this discussion, and that's why I'm contacting you. Is there any way that you could add the article to Wikipedia:List of hoaxes on Wikipedia? The article existed since 2006 and I'm pretty sure it was a hoax article. wizzito | say hello! 22:10, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

You do have a talent for finding these things, Wizzito! I’ll add it the list in a little while. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 10:16, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
OK, Wizzito, it’s done. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 21:16, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Deletion of Alvix

Hi! Contacting about undeletion of the page "Alvix" ([for deletion/Alvix|Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alvix]) This page belongs to a musician with millions of streams and alot of online article who is notable. It is not a promo-page. He is mentioned in some of biggest swedish newspapers and is covered in alot of international weblogs. A online search provide everything... Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sdgsnti (talkcontribs) 19:49, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello Sdgsnti. The page Alvix was deleted following a short but unanimous discussion. All very straightforward. But you say there is a lot of coverage? Bearing in mind that the notability guideline that was cited in the discussion requires "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject", can you link to the three best sources about Alvix? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 09:58, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Just a quick search and got this: https://www.aftonbladet.se/nojesbladet/musik/a/Qlapqx/netflix--chill-stoppas-av-streamingjatten https://popmuzik.se/116708/alvix-marco-farouk-chris-willis-love-around-the-world/ https://www.dance-charts.de/2020122313839/alvix-hiddn-feat-victoria-voss-dancing-on-my-own https://www.warnermusic.de/compilations/aktuelle-hits/urban-dance-0 https://www.caesarlivenloud.com/2021/10/alvix-joakim-molitor-nezen-share-new-single-before-you-know.html

The guy has alot of online articles and info of this artist online. He has been releasing with stars both in Sweden and international like Chris Willis. He has been in the top official charts in a few countries..

Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sdgsnti (talkcontribs) 08:43, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

I mentioned three sources because the community is usually content with three in-depth, high quality sources for an article but I see nothing in-depth here, nothing that would allow me to overturn the community's consensus in the deletion discussion. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 19:21, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

Please undelete Hisae Watanabe

@Malcolmxl5: She is notable because she was a top 10 atomweight in the world. The notability for MMA changed to include that clause. https://www.fightmatrix.com/fighter-profile/Hisae+Watanabe/12954/

All the best. HeinzMaster (talk) 04:53, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi, can you direct me towards community consensus that the top 10 atomweight in the world is notable? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 19:25, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:16, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

Administrators will no longer be autopatrolled

A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. To find out when the change has gone live or if you have any questions please visit the Administrator's Noticeboard. 20:06, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Can you block for longer, and perhaps protect some of the pages they edited? This is a known LTA: Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/Bucharest Wild Kratts and horror film vandal wizzito | say hello! 20:35, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Philippine TV channels

There appear to be still several articles affected by Rayver calilung's disruptive page moves, where the article histories were moved into draft and redirected. While I gather that sentiment might be that their notability indeed isn't demonstrated, as some have been re-redirected after reverting, I think the disruptive moves still need to be reverted lest the article histories be G13-deleted in Draftspace. Could you take care of the following, or point me to a page where such assistance can be requested? Thanks. Thanks for the effort. Persevere is quite the word; cleaning up such damage unfortunately is tedious work indeed. --Paul_012 (talk) 12:34, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
