Speedy deletion nomination of User:Making The Difference Charitable Trust edit

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Making The Difference Charitable Trust, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 64andtim (chat) 08:18, 24 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

June 2023 edit

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Lourdes 08:21, 24 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

That's still the name of your organization Please select a user name that represents an individual and not a cog in a machine.-- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:35, 24 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Only one user per account edit

Any user account should represent an individual and not a group (and an individual should normally only have one user account; see next section). Sharing an account – or the password to an account – with others is not permitted, and evidence of doing so will result in the user being required to stop the practice and change their password, or in sanctions (up to and including the account being blocked), depending on circumstances. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:37, 24 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

This username represents a position at your organization, and not an individual. Your username must indicate that you and only you have access to this account and will not share it with others(including a successor to your position). Anyone else in your position must create a new account for themselves. As for your edits, Wikipedia is not a place for organizations to tell the world about themselves and what they do. Articles about organizations summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about an organization, showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. Wikipedia is not interested in what an organization wants to say about itself or what it considers to be its own history- we are interested in what others wholly unconnected with the organization say is its history and what is important/significant/influential about the organization. Please read conflict of interest and paid editing. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your organization. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you are interested in being a general contributor and making edits for which you have no conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:01, 25 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

This choice of username is much better, though only a single person should be operating this account(you say "we"). As I said above, "You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your organization. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. I respectfully request that my page be unblocked. I have acknowledged my mistakes and am eager to make positive contributions to the Wikipedia community in accordance with their guidelines. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to edit my article and username in a non-promotional manner. Thank you for your consideration.

Decline reason:

You will not be unblocked if your intention is to write about your organization. If you have other things you would like to edit about, I am open to unblocking. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 07:08, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I strongly believe that it would not be appropriate for me to promote the organization. Making The Difference Charitable Trust (talk) 07:38, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
We're not interested in having you edit about your organization in any manner at this time. Our experience tells us that doing so at this stage would be a waste of time for everyone, including you. Wikipedia is not a place for organizations(or their representative) to tell the world about themselves and what they do. We will first want you to demonstrate your knowledge of relevant Wikipedia policies and content guidelines by first editing in areas unrelated to your organization before permitting you to indirectly contribute about your organization. If you have no interest in editing about anything other than your organization, it is doubtful that you will be unblocked, but you may make another request for someone else to review. 331dot (talk) 09:13, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I am interested in editing on Wikipedia in areas that are not related to my organization. This will enable me to contribute to the platform as a user and showcase my understanding of Wikipedia policies and content guidelines. Making The Difference Charitable Trust (talk) 10:21, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Then you will need to make another unblock request and tell us what topics or articles you will edit about. 331dot (talk) 10:58, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Is this the first Wikipedia account you have ever had? When I attempted to rename your account, I was prevented from doing so because the accounts "Deepak Vishwakarma" and "Deepak vishwakarma" exist. They have no edits, but I was wondering if these were created by you. 331dot (talk) 11:29, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Can you please try to modify it to editoratMTD Making The Difference Charitable Trust (talk) 06:00, 28 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
editoratMTD is a role. Handling your rename requests I've already told you three times that "Usernames may not represent a group, organisation, or business, a role within them, a product, a service, or a website. Your real name is not required, just something unique to you that represents YOU, not your job. Please read the Username policy - https://w.wiki/WPW - and choose another name." I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused, but I kindly request to change my username to DeepakVishwakarma. Making The Difference Charitable Trust (talk) 16:41, 30 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

In accordance with the Wikipedia username policy, my username has been modified. Furthermore, I would kindly request the unblocking of my page to resume editing. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

In order to assess your understanding of Wikipedia policy and guidelines, please respond to the questions below:

  1. When does an editor have a conflict of interest with an article, and how do editors disclose their conflict of interest? (WP:COI and WP:COIE will have those responses).
  2. If an editor has a conflict of interest with an article, what procedure does Wikipedia recommend users use? Do you commit to using this procedure with articles in which you have a conflict of interest?
  3. What articles do you intend to edit if you are unblocked? Please be specific.

Thanks, Z1720 (talk) 18:44, 23 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
