Hello edit

I see that you are a very active editor in Macedonian articles. I understand your feelings about what one might perceive as unjust monopolising of history and geography, as in the case of Bulgarians and Greeks. But might I suggest a more gradual approach to changing artilces. Making outright changes will only be reverted by other users. SLow and verifieble changes are more likely to be accepted. patience is the key, and hopefully the truth will come out itself. Hxseek 23:10, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sure edit

I will help, though I am not sure about those large numbers of Macedonians in the world. The official statistics I've seen are more or less in line with wikipedia numbers. You should take into account that the censuses do not count people's heritage, but people's nationality, so you have many people in Canada, USA, Australia etc. who declare themselves as Canadian, American, Australian, despite having Macedonian parents, etc. Capricornis 21:00, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

czech an polish census numbers? edit

Can you find sites/pdfs that have the actual census document/stats with the number of Macedonians? Then we can include them on the page, but the number won't go up by much. The canadian number might go up quite a bit, but the 2006 census results for ethnicity won't be done by statcan until June 2008. поздрав - Capricornis 06:58, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Propaganda user page edit

The front page of this user [1] is a personalised blog page and therefore is incompatible with Wikipedial guidelines. Please remove the material; take note of other User pages as an example. Politis 12:14, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I really don't see anything wrong with his userpage. There are a few userboxes that explain his language skills, his address, his origins and his political views. I think that Politis finds it inappropriate because of Makedonij's point of view over Macedonia and because of the suns and the name Macedonia. Expressing your own political views on your userpage is not propaganda. --INkubusse 19:41, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, keep thinking. A few months ago, there was a Greek user who exhibited inapropriate material on his User page. It was explained to him why he should change certain things. He did. This user Makedonij includes irridentist maps; they are offensive to most people in Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, RoM and Serbia, as well as contrary to the European spirit. Can you think of a user stating he/she is a fighter for a united (greater) Germany / Bulgaria / Poland, etc...? I hope not. This material should be removed, if nothing else, it looks bad for (Slav) Macedonians. Politis 12:11, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

May 2008 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Macedonians (ethnic group). Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Laveol T 20:34, 8 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

The reason why your edits are being considered disruptive is because you have continually reverted to a version of a Template despite there being no consensus to change the picture. You posted only once on Template talk:Ethnic Macedonians‎ and did not wait to hear out what other editors may think of the change. You also are in danger of violating the three revert rule because you continued to revert a version of the template you wanted more than three times in the past 24 hours. I recommend stepping back at the moment and taking some time to cool down.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 21:26, 8 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyrights edit

Hello. Your copyright claim to most of the images you uploaded appears implausible. Please clarify where and when these images were taken, otherwise they will all be deleted. Please note that we take copyright very seriously here, and making false copyright claims can get you blocked. Thank you, Fut.Perf. 06:34, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re your latest upload Image:Protest-NY.JPG, you said "Picture is from my own sorce,it was allso posted in Canadian newspaper in Toronto!" - but it evidently was first printed in that newspaper, it also seems to have a copyright notice of it, so it's obviously theirs. Note we always require the original copyright holder, not any intermediate source that may have hosted the image (legally or, in your case, most likely illegally). Unless you are the original photographer and then sold a license to the newspaper for it, this is most certainly a non-free image. Fut.Perf. 09:16, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Please read our copyright regulations. Just because you own a copy of a book doesn't mean the images in the book are free for you to give away. They most likely belong to the book's publisher (or somebody else the publisher has licensed them from). Unless they are public domain, but in the case of 20th-century photographs you can rarely rely on that without some investigation. Fut.Perf. 09:46, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Concrete question: Where is Image:Crkva Sv.Nikola---Ohio--USA.jpg from? Who took it, when? Fut.Perf. 09:52, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Re [3]: You "draw it"? You mean, you took the photograph? Can I ask when? What about Image:Sv Bogorodica detroid mich..jpg? About the copyright of book contents, no, I have to tell you you are definitely mistaken. Oh, and please would you cut back on your use of exclamation marks? Fut.Perf. 10:04, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Uhm, you mean the other way round? The Detroit one is a watercolor, I can see that. If that's your own work, my compliments, good job. So, that leaves my answer about the Detroit one unanswered though. Fut.Perf. 10:25, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Would you be so kind as to answer my questions first and help clean up the images, before you divert the discussion to other issues? Thanks. Fut.Perf. 10:40, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Another one. Image:Omo ilinden pirin-2004.jpg ([4]) How can you claim it is "free to use" when the source page explicitly states it's "all rights reserved"? And you still haven't answered my question above. Fut.Perf. 11:56, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Banned from image uploads edit

Oh boy, you really keep going at it. I can't forever keep explaining things to you if you don't listen at all or don't understand. You made yet more dodgy image uploads. I'm therefore now banning you from making any image uploads for the next two months. Do not try to upload more images or you will be blocked. Please use this time to make yourself acquainted with our image policies, and if you resume making uploads afterwards, make sure you really understand what the copyright situation is.

Also, I'd strongly recommend you cut out the revert-warring, or someone else might soon be around to block you. Fut.Perf. 12:56, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

You've really given the answer to your own question here [6]. Why have I banned you? Because you really don't understand why you can't upload images from other websites. That's why. If you can't understand this simple thing about copyright and our policies, after having me explain them to you all day, then we really can't let you upload anything. Sorry about that. We can lift this restriction once you show some understanding of what copyright is about. Fut.Perf. 13:11, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
About already existing images, your best bet is to got to http://commons.wikimedia.org, where you'll find a system of categories which ought to guide you in your search. Are you looking for something specific? Fut.Perf. 18:40, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

48 hours for your recent disruptive editing and revert-warring: further, per WP:ARBMAC you are limited to one revert per page per day for four months, a sanction that will be enforced by blocks if necessary. Moreschi (talk) (debate) 13:11, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes,very nice,i see neutrality here is on top!Four Macedonian editors blocked, and one Greek editor, and penalties are also well judged!
Anyway i did not understand my penalty,is that for all pages or ....,and what exactly reverting rule says?I thoth it's forbiden to revert sigle same article for 3 time.
Many thing here are not neutral.... Makedonij (talk) 13:50, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
See Help:Reverting for a definition of a "revert". As opposed to be being permitted 3 reverts on each page during each day, you are now only permitted 1 revert on each page during each day. Yes, this is not just articles, it extends to all pages. Moreschi (talk) (debate) 16:43, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
And it was 2 Greek users that got sanctioned, not just one. If you chaps hadn't all behaved so badly and tried to brute-force your POV you all would have been fine. Moreschi (talk) (debate) 16:43, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
May i ask which is the second one??Any way if this is all about discussion and neutralety, such things are not hapening on Greek or Bulgarian pages? You did remove Old Macedonian flag, but there is also flags in other tempelates(exs:SERBS,or Greek Macedonians),any wey the whole thig is rediculus,Macedonians can be blocked every time if this rule obtain. It isn not me abot here, its about of identety of entire my nation, every single article about peoples of Macedonia, kings national heros and so one....If not Greeks,Bulgarian opose, that is not fair, and you know that. You shoud read the whole debate in temelate where we were blocked.I mean this is not about me,you can block me for 480 months,it is about denideing of Macedonian nation, show me just one Macedonian article or hero or king... which is not controverse to Greeks or Bulgars?????And how can we then not be blocked(REVERTATION),if we are denided on every single step???In Macedonian articles we allways need a strong sources, but did you seen for example Bulgarians or Serbs articles, there is a bearly a couple real census information, and if i delete some thing i woud be judged for vandalisam!!!!ANY WAY IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!At leest more neutralety will be welcomed here!!!

Ethnic Macedonians of Romania edit

Hello. Do you happen to have a source indicating that Romania's Macedonians belong to the Macedonian Orthodox Church? There are Greek parishes in Brăila, Galaţi, Constanţa and Bucharest, some Serbian ones in the Banat and Ukrainian ones in Maramureş, and Bulgarian ones in Bucharest and in Brăila, but never have I heard of or found sources for Macedonian Orthodox parishes on Romanian soil. Given that church was founded just 40 years ago, it probably has no presence in Romania, and Macedonians there are probably happy attending the local church, most likely a Romanian Orthodox one. Still, if you have evidence to the contrary, do show it. Biruitorul Talk 02:47, 30 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fine, change it until i find source, but you must accept fact that Macedonian church is denided by others, see article of Macedonians in Slovenia, but mainly Macedonians have a church under "Borow".--Makedonij (talk) 17:28, 30 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, yes, I know no one else recognises its autocephaly. However: first, this is bound, for the present, to remain a matter of some conjecture, since sources on what type of church Macedonians in Romania attend are probably few. Second, I changed it to "Eastern Orthodox" - most likely, most of them attend Romanian Orthodox churches, but it's even more likely they're all Orthodox, whether Romanian, Serbian or even Macedonian. Biruitorul Talk 06:02, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Can you take control over me, i mean when i'm editing, just to control if i brake some rules and inform me, so i wont be blocked every time when i writte something about Macedonians ??--Makedonij (talk) 18:26, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Actually, you don't need me to do it. You are a reasonably intelligent person, and you can learn to do this yourself. I would suggest that you address edits that you disagree with in the same way that you would address those of someone you respect, ie, a priest, rabbi, imam or even Mom; the essence of politeness is respect. If you give it, chances are you are going to receive it in return. If you encounter people who are jerks no matter what, your politeness is going to shine out like a beacon in contrast to their deformed behavior. If and when it becomes necessary to report them, you can confidently relax in the knowledge that you have been the more professional person in the exchange.
Alternately, you might want to stop editing Macedonian articles for a while. You need some more experience editing in articles that do not appear to challenge your national personhood. You allow yourself to be personally offended by any viewpoint that differs from your own, an that will get you bounced out of Wikipedia very, very quickly. Learn how Wikipedia works. Learn how some of the more effective editors and administrators work here. Your comments in the ArbCom discussion are nigh unacceptable. You repeatedly attack an admin who hasn't written back to you when you are openly hostile. ArbCom is not a place you ever want to find yourself. It is reserved for the worst Wikipedians and the most contentious of articles.
If you truly want my help, you need to stop editing any articles that have any Macedonian content in them at all. I am sure you can find some things to interest you outside of your national/ethnic heritage. How about a film, or ice cream, or a rock band that you like? Seriously, Wikipedia is not the platform for nationalist struggles. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 20:31, 3 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Slovene Symbols edit

Hi. Sorry, maybe i've read inaccurately: I thought it was written that the Triglav was a symbol of Communism. My mistake. Anyway, I insist that the Coat of Arms of teh Republic of Slovenia is not and cannot represent the Slovene people as a whole. They were only invented in 1991 and the Slovene minorities don't use it. As I've said, the Slovene national flag is the tricolour without the insignia, as recognized also by the constitution. I can agree to the claim that the Triglav is an important symbol for Slovenes: but not the symbol of Slovenes and not the insignia, but the mountain itself. We might include that in the article. There are many other more representative symbols, however, inclusing the linden leaf and the carnation flower, which have been used for longer time (the Triglav is quite recent and, it was first raffigurated only in the 1930s and it entered the national symbology only with the Liberation Front of the Slovenian People). Viator slovenicus (talk) 11:33, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
No problem, I guessed that the intention was good. The problem is that when we are dealing with such delicate issues such as states vs. nation and the national symbology, things often require a lot of carefulness and consideration. I appreciate your effort and desire to contribute to the articles on Slovenia. An article we are missing and I've been planning to start for a while is Christian Orthodoxy in Slovenia: maybe we could try to write that one together sometime in the near future. I don't know if you've ever heard of Janez Frančišek Gnidovec : he was a Slovene Catholic archbishop of Skopje and he is also on my list of future articles. In any case, I wanted to let you know that I, too, find the ostracism against Macedonians disgusting, as well as the theories that negate the existance of a Macedonian nationality through history. Unfortunately, this is still very widespread (even among academians, I might say). I can only advise you to arm yourself with reliable sources and use argumentation to fight ignorance and bias. Viator slovenicus (talk) 14:09, 8 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Slovenes edit

After reading through the article history (since I would do that if rendering a third opinion), and keeping in mind your request to let you know when you are heading towards a path leading to trouble. You haven't gotten there yet, but the article is full of edits that express an inherent intolerance of viewpoints other than their own. They seem unwilling to accept Third Opinion, which represents compromise. As everyone there seems to feel that their opinion will win out through sheer force of will, it is predestined for intolerance, and it is precisely the wrong place for you to be editing now. I would recommend getting out of there as soon as possible and finding a nice, non-nationalist article. Maybe a film or a television program, where you can build some muscles in areas other than arguing.
You wanted my advice, there it is. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 14:02, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Kostas Novakis edit

The article Kostas Novakis has been completely changed by 157.228.x.x into one which I can only argue as POV pushing (Revision history of Kostas Novakis). The current article has removed most Macedonian sources which shows he states his language is Macedonian, he is ethnic Macedonian and so on. I luckily have saved Macedonia related articles which I knew would be changed constantly, but I am banned from editing Macedonia related issues. You can easily compare the older version below to the current article to view it is in fact POV pushed. Since I cannot edit Macedonia related issues, please use this template to create an article which is fair and neutral. Please tell other Macedonians on Wikipedia to keep a watch on the article. Kostas Novakis (Greek: Κώστας Νοβάκης also in Macedonian: Костас Новакис) is a researcher of folk music in Greece[1]. He has produced traditional music of the Macedonia region and he has also produced songs in the Macedonian language[2].

Biography

Kostas Novakis was born in Koufalia, Thessaloniki prefecture, Greek Macedonia in 1957. Kostas works as a dentist in the same village and is a member of the Centre for Macedonian Culture.[3] [4]He is prominent for releasing several music albums with traditional songs and music of the region of Macedonia. He has also produced various albums with songs typical of the Greek province of Macedonia but with the lyrics recorded in the "dialect of the Aegean part of Macedonia."[5] . In Greece, the first CD with 13 Macedonian folk songs, called "A Letter from Thessalonica", was published in 2002, recorded by Kostas and Harula Novakis.

Also in 2002, Kostas was a special guest at the "Meeting of refugees from Aegean Macedonia" held in the town of Trnovo, Republic of Macedonia. The event is a gathering mainly attended by ethnic Macedonians originating from the Greek province of Macedonia.[6]

Kostas and his friends engaged an orchestra of 11 instrumentalists, five of whom come from the Republic of Macedonia[7]:

  1. Ilija Petrusev – tambour
  2. Ljupco Petkov – clarinet
  3. Petar Temenugov – harmonics
  4. Lazar Stankov – guitar
  5. Lazo – efonio

Quotes

"I had this really strong wish to give permanence to the songs that my grand mother, and the other grand-mothers from the village used to sing. The observation of the tradition and the Macedonian folklore are in my blood since childhood. I have recordings of about 1.000 songs with an original singing of the elderly inhabitants, and I sang these on the dialect of the Aegean part of Macedonia. This is the first time that a CD, with this kind of music, is published in Greece. We give it to friends in Greece, we sent it to Australia and Canada, and it is played on the local radio stations." User:Aquanodd has been editing this article to include racial slurs, and in the "notable person" category has removed Steven Stamkos. I have a feeling this guy may want to remove him to do the recent NHL draft. Mactruth (talk) 04:36, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violation edit

It is against the law and against Wikipedia policy to copy and paste material that is protected by copyright. This also holds for talk pages. Just see what is written at the bottom of the edit box when editing a talk page.

Sorry, i misslooked it, it is fine now, just the title of web page.15:48, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Makedonij (talk)

I would suggest that you do some serious research and try to find an original source for Trikoupi's statement. The secondary source that you give is not reliable because it is from an opinion article and not a regular article, and no primary source is given. Please use only reliable sources according to Wikipedia:Verifiability.  Andreas  (T) 15:44, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Trikoupis's quote about hellenizing Macedonia edit

Here is the original quote. It is from an interview of the special correspondent of the Manchester Guardian (today The Guardian) in Athens. The article is entitled "Grecce and her Neighbours" and appeared on July 6, 1889 on page 12.

"The Turk is going", he [Trikoupis] said, "almost too fast. When the great war comes -- as it is inevitably must within the next three, five, eight years -- Macedonia will belong to Greek or Bulgarian according as one or the other wins. If the Bulgarians take it, I do not doubt that in a few years they will be able to Slavonise the population up to the Thessalian border. If we take it, we shall be able to make the people Greeks right away to Eastern Roumelia. The bulk of the inhabitants have no pronounced nationality; they are ready to receive whatever stamp is impressed on them."

You can download the article from the digital archives of The Guardian at no charge [10]. It is quite interesting, read it. Especially interesting is the map: according to the author (not necessarily Trkoupis), the future Greek Macedonia would not even include Salonica (that, at the time, was inhabited maily by Ladino-speaking Jews).

There is another quote by Trikoupis where he claims that Greece is interested in the southeren part of Macedonia. I will send you the quote as soon as I get hold of it.  Andreas  (T) 01:56, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please be more civil. You have been warned many times by Laveol. About the "Skopian" used in Greece as a name of the Macedonian language, I understand that you might find it offensive but it is used commonly in Greece to refer to the language so we have to say that in the article. We can't remove information based only on our personal feelings. We will of course also say it is possibly pejorative. Shadowmorph ^"^ 20:48, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

About my user page, it is my own, and if you can express your fealings regarding to my language as Skopian, why i shouldnt then express my fealings on my own page?
