Request reason:

Hi everyone, I put in an account creation request a few days ago, and have managed to create this account. Now it seems that I can't edit any page at all, either at home, at work, at a library, using a vpn...anything!... Is this just bad luck? Would love to have a go at editing wikipedia but seems to be impossible for a new user! How do I resolve this? Thanks!

Decline reason:

Editing via a VPN is not normally permitted, as doing so unfortunately enables editors to edit deceptively, as for example by evading editing blocks and by dishonestly giving the impression of being more than one editor. Unless you can provide special reasons why an exception should be made for you, the answer is that you will have to disable your VPN when editing Wikipedia. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The autoblock message should say what account has been blocked leading to the autoblock, and it should also give an autoblock number. We cannot lift the autoblock unless you give us that information. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 16:38, 24 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

A page you started (Jean-Bernard Zuber) has been reviewed! edit

Thanks for creating Jean-Bernard Zuber.

I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process.

This is an unreferenced biography of a living person. Please work on it in draftspace and move back when it has multiple, independent, reliable, WP:INLINECITED references.

To reply, leave a comment here and ping me.

revert edit

can you please explain this revert[1]--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:35, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Ozzie10aaaa: It stopped references like [8][1] from working properly.MajoranaF (talk) 13:37, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
ok, but the text, that is not referenced needs to be before being put back, I had approved its review--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:39, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Ozzie10aaaa: Other biographies in Wikipedia often give a list of selected "Publications" without them acting as a reference e.g. on Albert Einstein's page. Is there a policy related to this, or a format that this should be presented in?MajoranaF (talk) 13:43, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
frankly, it seems not necessary to list the individuals entire publication work, particularly w/ a just review article, please use prudence should you insist on maintaining it(BTW Einstein is GA Albert_Einstein)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:49, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Ozzie10aaaa: Exactly! I thought that is what good articles do. :-) Fear not, this is a tiny fraction of the total work he published.MajoranaF (talk) 13:53, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

File:Edwin Albert Power.jpeg edit

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 18:10, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for November 5 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Atlas of Mauretania, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Titan and Pleione (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
