Welcome! edit

Hello, Magnetsum, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  the panda ₯’ 11:03, 6 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

hi , if i want to protect or semi protect article page what should i do exacly

Magnetsum 12:22, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

I am curious to know which article you want to semi-protect and why? Before you produce in this way, do read Rough guide to semi-protection. And of course you can request for page protection at Requests for page protection.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Shadmehr Aghili, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 17:06, 5 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm C.Fred. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Shadmehr Aghili without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The {{DEFAULTSORT}} template is necessary code in a page about a person to force the page to sort properly in category pages (by last name, then first name). —C.Fred (talk) 18:01, 7 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 00:02, 8 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

A note on sources edit

Sources that are not independent of the topic are generally not considered when determining if a topic meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Web sites that sell music are not "independent" on articles about music that is sold on that web site.

Please read WP:MUSIC for information on how to determine of a song or album meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 00:34, 8 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

July 2014 edit

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did to Shadmehr Aghili. You must discuss this on the talk page first.JamesR (talk) 11:37, 8 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:ShadmherCover.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:ShadmherCover.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:32, 11 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
