File permission problem with File:Lega-C.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Lega-C.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mabdul 12:52, 9 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Lega-C Off My Medication album cover.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Lega-C Off My Medication album cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:29, 13 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bayer Mack, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Avant (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:22, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Editing articles about yourself edit

Please add a statement to your user page about which articles you are connected to. It would seem there are many, which you have also edited. --- Possibly 05:21, 18 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Removing the COI templates on pages for which you have a COI is not going to work, as I or another editor will replace them. They can be removed once the pages are gone over by an impartial editor. You also need to declare your obvious COI. The way you have been using Wikipedia, as a promotional vehicle, is against our policies and cannot continue. It is important to respond here or at the COIN noticeboard to let us know you understand that. Ignoring these queries and continuing to edit when you have an obvious COI frequently leads to the loss editing privileges. --- Possibly 06:56, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, that statement on your user page is not going to work. You are obviously financially and professionally connected to all of the articles you edit. Per WP:PAY, "An editor has a financial conflict of interest when they write about a topic with which they have a close financial relationship. This includes being an owner, employee, contractor, investor or other stakeholder. " That seems to apply to every article you have edited. Please see the discussion at COIN, and please read WP:COI and WP:COIEDIT. --- Possibly 07:06, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for admitting that you are a pid editor on your user page. Now please add the articles for which you have a conflict. Talk pages are for talking, is there some reason you are not replying? Continually removing the COI tags form articles for which you have a COI is considered to be disruptive editing. Those tags will be removed when the articles are checked over by someone without a COI. Do not replace them. --- Possibly 07:56, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
For the list of articles, we need to know which ones you have a conflict with. It is required to disclose articles that you have a conflict with. Saying you created the article is not the same thing. You need to say somethinmg like "I am connected to the subjects of the following articles", or "I have a COI with the following articles". We ask all editors with COI to do this. --- Possibly 08:41, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

August 2021 edit

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Macklevine, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Macklevine|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. --- Possibly 06:50, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. --- Possibly 07:50, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. --- Possibly 08:58, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at User talk:Carlstak. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Also here User talk:Possibly, please stop this right now. Theroadislong (talk) 09:20, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Can you please take it down 3-4 notches? edit

You asked for an impartial 3rd party review. This is it.

Our rules about paid editing and conflict of interest apply to everyone. It is not reasonable for you to make accusations about racist or political bias just because the policies are applied to you. Please tone down the confrontational attitude as it is not appreciated here.

I am here in my capacity as an administrator to ask you not to respond to routine policy enforcement with hostility and accusations. I would like you to read:

These are all community standards that you have recently violated and that you are being held to here. It is important that you understand and follow these policies to avoid a block on your account. Thank you. HighInBC Need help? Just ask. 10:55, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much for your impartial 3rd party review. This has already been resolved to my satisfaction. Macklevine 07:29, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation edit

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Macklevine, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

The article Black Seeds: The History of Africans in America has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Film appears to fail WP:NFILM as nothing was found in a BEFORE to meets the notability guidelines.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File permission problem with File:East Coast Block Starz, Cover Art, Jan 2010.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:East Coast Block Starz, Cover Art, Jan 2010.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 15:12, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
