Mind providing a reason for your last edit? I have no problems admitting if I am wrong about something, but I see no explanation or reference to any talk page consensus. I am not going to be maneuvered into violating 3RR but I would like to avoid any edit warring. Quis separabit? 00:44, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Oops, I see. Thanks. Quis separabit? 00:46, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
Lol no problems. The IPs revert showed up in my notifications so I clicked it and it took me straight to the edit which I reverted. I failed to realise that it wasn't the current version of the page as you had already reverted them. Mabuska (talk) 00:49, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi Yes, was just trying to provide some context for the different time periods involved, obviously some people are not "famous", prominent enough to have their own page, are too far back in history or are regular folks who don't usually get included. But they do add a reference point to larger historical issues and also particularly to kind of investigate what happened to the name McCathmhaoil/McCawell/Campbell/McCaul etc. and others... McCawell seems to be an extinct name (or spelling of name) in Ireland and only remains is in the US and Canada. They also point out the wealth of documentation now available online highlighted in the references. E.g the Trinity college 1641 war info, and various other, church and civil records. I think some of the categories or titles I have them under could be better. I was trying to introduce the period and context of the times. Let’s say the 4 or so bishops in the late 1500's which then go down to none in the late 1600's under "Reformation to Dissolution". The "Jacobite’s to Republicans" title is one I'm not too happy with... and then with "Famine and emigration" of course people emigrated earlier than the famine, but obviously it became a major trend at that point. I think both prominent and regular folk can illustrate history but more often than not we just hear about the former. I think the wealth of info now online can help broaden the narrative.

I agree its better to be more specific, e.g the reformation affected ireland different, and then effected Ulster more profoundly because or the plantation. Also it seems the Jacobites had more promemint support in Co down and antrim. Also looks like they say that the potato famine didn't effect ulster (because of the linen industry) as bad at the west of ireland and of course it depends what class in society you where in and whether you lived in the countryside or town/city at that stage. Thanks for the feedback

Response

Hello, sorry for the late response, busy last couple of days. About An Gal Gréine, I have come across this in English language texts, generally in the context of the Fianna, while "Sunburst" as a description is usually only in modern republican contexts. With groups like the Érainn, the concept is closer to a tribe like say the Quraysh - a fairly large group of people - rather just a small monarchial element like say the Tudors. Certainly small elements of the Érainn, certain septs, could be formerly described as royal dynasties, but not the entire group. Claíomh Solais (talk) 10:27, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Duck hunting season?. Murry1975 (talk) 17:09, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

I don't know. That user has edited the article more than once, the IP only once, and they don't share any other articles. Maybe they where signed out and we saw the temporary IP given by the ISP. No need for the hunting rifles yet lol Mabuska (talk) 19:54, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
