1960s London fashion designers
If you're interested in adding to either, I will be nominating both Rupert Lycett Green and Michael Rainey for DYK (co-credits available!) on or shortly before 7 June. I started with Prince Rupert Loewenstein, then Christopher Gibbs - there are plenty of fascinating characters in 1960s London. Edwardx (talk) 13:19, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Edwardx! Brilliant - I'm glad you're tackling this kind of thing. So many candidates for articles here - I can think of quite a few other fashion designers/associated characters that need articles too. Lycett Green had been on my list for a while because he's on the Dress of the Year list and I keep meaning to try and sort articles for all the designers on there... but never seem to have time! - Thanks for adding to Lycett Green. If you want to mention the others here or on my talkpage, I'll see what I can do. But, there is indeed never enough time. Edwardx (talk) 14:09, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Off the top of my head, Thea Porter comes to mind. She was a major 60s/70s fashion designer with quite a presence and is definitely article-worthy and I'm surprised she still lacks one. Kiki Byrne and Alice Pollock, too. But I probably should do those myself. Will think and see if anyone comes to mind. Mabalu (talk) 14:16, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm always a bit conflicted when someone starts an article that I've been meaning to do, but I know the right thing is to feel happy that they feel as I do about a subject, and then collaborate. After all, there's no shortage of interesting people and other new topics to write about. Edwardx (talk) 21:07, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Just went ahead and whistled up an article on Kiki. Mabalu (talk) 00:45, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- Most impressive for something you just "whistled up". Edwardx (talk) 22:14, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- I've started Thea Porter, but will have to stop for today. You are, of course, most welcome to join in. Edwardx (talk) 23:08, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- I saw - great start! Will happily add in some more info on her. :) Mabalu (talk) 23:10, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |
